1712422 tn?1443337501 All u can take while breastfeeding is ibuprofen u can't take tylenol. It's weird cause while ur prego all u can have is tylenol and while breastfeeding all I can take is ibuprofen funny huh.
Avatar f tn My doctor took ibuprofen off the list during my pregnancies and I was told not to take it. Advil is in that category. I only was told to use Tylenol. Ibuprofen is category C up to 30 weeks and category D after that meaning don't use before 30 weeks and REALLY don't use after that. Category C means that through animal reproduction studies, they have shown adverse events on the fetus. However a doctor can outweigh benefits to risk.
Avatar n tn Correct. Ibuprofen or Naproxen, but not both. One or the other. I find Naproxen the most helpful, as it works more quickly. Aleve is a brand name for OTC Naproxen. Tyelenol is in a different category. Non Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDS) are the ones you want to treat inflammation. Aspirin is also in this class. Again, only use one form of these and not all of them.
8778737 tn?1413827423 Get nipple cream and I am pretty sure you can alternate Tylenol and ibuprofen. Babies can not take ibuprofen but I was given it with my pain killers after delivery while breastfeeding. Did they not give you and loratab or Percocet after you delivered or did you run out. Normally that helps.
Avatar f tn I got Percocet, prescription strength ibuprofen, and Loritab
Avatar f tn Oh just re-read your question and honestly I don't know. I do know you can take ibuprofen while breastfeeding and you can take tylenol and ibuprofen together. So if you have ibuprofen I'd take that.
Avatar f tn I just had my daughter the 17th but i decided to start breastfeeding today bc shes not liking bottles and latches on my breast really good. But they are giving me motrin and percaset for pain and they said its safe to breastfeed while taking these meds, but its making me nervous anyone else taking these while breastfeeding? & does anyone else know how safe this is for my baby.
Avatar f tn On the app instead of clicking on recomended forums go to all medical support community forums and it will be in alphabetical order. Make a post and from then on the breastfeeding forum will show up in the my forums section of the app. I hope this makes sense. It's very easy once you figure it out.
Avatar f tn I was taking tramadol and ibuprofen that my doctor prescribed me after i came home she knew i was only going to breastfeed, i did research and they were ok to take while breastfeeding.
Avatar f tn I had a c-section with my first. The gave me percocet in the hospital and to come home for the pain. I breastfed and used formula (I didn't have enough milk). My baby was fine. I didn't think the recovery was that bad. I telly didn't have any pain after being home a couple of days.
Avatar f tn I was put on codeine/ibuprofen. And also dextropropoxyphene, which has now been taken off the market. You will probably be given something with codeine and ibuprofen in it, as well as probably another drug in the mild opioid category :) Good luck!
Avatar f tn t seem to help, in the past I took ibuprofen but my obgyn said its a no no. I remember bengay being effective, not sure what category that would be in. Ill check! Feel better soon!
Avatar f tn Is Motrin ok to take while breastfeeding , I'm n pain && I don't wanna take the prescribed medicine.
Avatar f tn Is it possible your marijuana was laced?
Avatar f tn Please no judgement. If I'm not breastfeeding what's the best way to dry up your breast milk? And how long does it take?
Avatar f tn I am breastfeeding) any time i take ibuprofen i tend to sweat and be okay by the next day
Avatar f tn While I was in hospital I was taking percocet and Motrin for pain and I was sent home with oxycodone and ibuprofen. I am strictly breastfeeding. While in the hospital only my colostrum was coming out.. now my milk has come in and I'm thinking that the pain meds are in my milk bc every time my baby eats he is knocked out cold after only eating for a few minutes, nothing wakes him except a diaper change.. he wakes up to eat again and then will go right back to sleep.
6935419 tn?1392153040 I was already prescribed ibuprofen for swelling from the birth so that probably helped me not feel pain afterwards. If you're not prescribed ibuprofen three OTC ibuprofen is the same dose. The nurses told me that bc it's cheaper than the prescription. I can't remember how long I took it. If you're breastfeeding I wouldn't use it.
Avatar f tn I was prescribed Amoxicillin for one of my wisdom teeth I had extrated yesterday which is Category B medication. I'm not taking the Category C which is Tylenol with Codeine which doesn't do harm but is advise just to stay away from. Category B has no harm to the baby I'm assuming your medication should be just fine. Being a nurse I had to look up these things. Look up what category the medication is and do research on what the categories mean.
1983217 tn?1327607298 That's what I wasn't sure about. I knew it wasn't "bleach". I figured it may be in the category with dying your hair, fake nails ect where some say its ok some don't.
Avatar f tn ve never been on it but I googled it and it said it cannot harm an unborn baby, but not to use it during breastfeeding because it can pass to the baby through the milk and may harm a nursing baby. But during pregnancy it is fine.
Avatar f tn I started having this sharp pain in the upper right breast and im having pain and just worried what can it be should i go to the doctor? I stop breastfeeding 4 months ago amd suffer from a mast before what can it be?
