Common Questions and Answers about Ibuprofen and wound healing

ibuprofen

it takes a long time to heal these things specially if person is dissabled and circulation is not so good, If this wound is on a heal there is foot orthotics that he would wear at night and it lifts the heal off the bed so no new damage is caused and can heal better, look into sites with care equipment and also ask about a nurse doing some skin treatment once a week. They take off some of the old stuff and let the new skin come out and regrow, I believe.
Right breast sore and tender but healing nicely. Under my left breast I have an open wound. Just came from the Dr yesterday and he has me doing wet to dry gauze. soaking 2x2 in saline and inserting in the wound and dry 4x4 over top. I have INTENSE pain, which I never anticipated this far out from surgery. I am on a 3rd round of antibiotics because the skin is slightly red. When I removed dressing it started to bleed. I just went back to work and sometimes the pain is hard to handle.
All are welcome.
Hi Everyone and Welcome, Come on in and make yourself cozy. You can do this!
We went through the normal check-in process with standard questions, BP check and an ID band and was taken back to an exam room. Once into a hospital gown and a sheet, I laid down on the table with my head elevated and my knees bent. The doctor arrived and peeled the foamy tape off my abdomen, which covered almost my whole left side of my tummy .. from just above my belly button down to my leg, from hip to midline and it felt as though my skin was coming with it.
By itself, prylosec (Omeprazole) wouldn't cause an infection, and taking antibiotics would be salt to the wound. That being said, if a doctor prescribed it, it might be an infection from another source. Do the blood tests show an infection? Blood tests are very specific regarding infection. I'd advise your mother to be very careful, make sure the blood tests show infection in the system.
I have been back to see his PA for wound a check, which is healing great! And assuming all continues to go this well I won't need to go back to see him until my three month MRI. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Ellenbogen to anyone who has a chiari that lives in the pacific northwest... or those willing to travel to see a great NS. I have one more week off work, then the real test of if the surgery was successful or not and how well I'm truly healing well. Cross my fingers, knock on wood etc...

I was prescribed Topamax along with an appetite suppressant (Adipex) for weight loss a bit over a year ago and stopped taking them after two and a half months. I did not lose all of the weight I had wanted to, but most of it. I had gained 55 pounds while on Paxil over the course of two and a half years. By taking a combination of the two medicines, I lost 22 pounds the first month, 10 pounds the second month, and 8 pounds the first half of the third month.
(I put mine in a small empty ibuprofen bottle) and then stick your finger up your butt and massage the itchy or swollen areas carefully and thoroughly. Honey is a natural antibiotic with healing properties. The Astroglide makes the stuff slippery so that the honey can be easily applied painlessly. The best honey to use is Manuka honey. I have used other honeys, and they work also, but I have found Manuka is the best.

I have been cleaning the wound of dead skin and flushing it out, as well as applying burn gel and treating with hydrogen peroxide. There is no puss or swelling besides the clear fluid from the blisters that have all but flattened now. The pain gets better everyday, but there are still occasional bouts of greater pain. At the worst on a scale of ten the burn feels about a 6. I clean the wound 2-3 times a day and keep it covered with gauze.

Sounds like a possible infection, i would get it checked out, usually swelling and pain are starting to go away after a week, not getting worse...

Welcome to Part 6! Please make yourself at home!
It will go in 4-5 days. Apply some warm compresses on the swelling, take some OTC anti-inflammatory analgesic like ibuprofen and the swelling should reduce in a couple of days. Pls watch out for any dizziness or numbness or headaches. If some other symptom arises along with this swelling, then you need to consult a neurologist and get yourself evaluated. Take care and pls do keep us posted on how you are doing.

I have the same thing going on, just about 2 days ago i had an intense pain in the right side of my neck over my carotid artery and then the next day i felt a lump which caused me to believe it was swollen. The lump is still there and the pain is too, i haven't been to a specialist just my family doctor who told me arteries don't get inflammed. Then i saw this website and realized that he must have been wrong, anyway i know what you are experiencing and it is no fun!
