1225178 tn?1318980604 My body aches have intensified in severity and and frequency in the past few weeks and since Tylenol doesn't work for me, I was taking Ibuprofen 2 to 3 times a day and it started getting to the point where my stomach felt kind of raw when I'd take it. I told my doctor about this and he told me that he didn't want me taking Ibuprofen more than once a day. He wrote me a prescription for Ultram which says it is for moderately severe pain.
Avatar f tn I was addicted to opiates and given ultram YEARS later, and I got addicted to it REALLY quickly. Do yourself a favor, and stop it before you have to go thru the worst WDs of your life! It is miserable, long and not to mention dangerous! I'm speaking from experience. It is the devil drug! I have detoxed many times from opiates and benzos, and they are NOTHING compared to Ultram! Believe me....just stop it now before it is too late! Good luck!
Avatar f tn Have been taking Topax (Chronic Severe Migraines) and Ultram w/ Savella for a failed back suregery. ANY ADIVSE WOULD BE A GODSEND!
691140 tn?1230503945 One of my worst symptoms is the body and joint pain. I am taking Ibuprofen and Tyelenol but neither seem to cut it. My provider wanted to give me Ultram but I am a recevery addict who's last re;apse was on Ultram. Haas anyone found a good alternative treatment for the aches and pians? Ya'll have a good day.
Avatar m tn You might want to call your doctor and let them know that the Ultram is being counterproductive. Is the Ultram for pain? If so, can you take something else like Ibuprofen or something like that? Good luck!
Avatar f tn Hi i just quit taking ultram about 36 hours ago ( i had been taking them for about 4 years)and I feel like someone has sapped the will and energy to live not to mention its like the worst flu i have ever had is there anything i can do to help cope with this?
Avatar n tn The best thing to do would be to call a pharmacist and ask them if there would be any drug interactions between the antibiotic and either one of the pain meds. To the best of my knowledge, there are no interactions between pain meds and antibiotics, because I have been on various pain meds for the last 10 years now and have taken many different antibiotics in that time with no problem, but not being a trained, licensed medical person I cannot TELL you to take anything.
Avatar m tn I just gave up on them because the side effects were outweighing the benefits by a long shot. Ibuprofen and Tylenol are just as effective. Taking more than 300mg a day can cause seizures and prove fatal. Unfortunately i don't think we've heard the last of this drug while knowledge deficit looms rampant in medical circles. Are we living in a dream world to expect doctors to know what they are prescribing?
Avatar m tn What's the difference between Ultram ER and Tramadol? I've been taking/abusing Ultram ER 200mg. To get off these things my Dr switched me to Tramadol 50mg. 1-2 4 times daily w/2 extra strength Tylenol. I'm feeling lethargic. I slept fine but I'm just tired and I'm jumpy. For those who have not read my journal this all started after being struck by lighting in June. I'm assuming what I'm felling is a difference between Ultram and Tramadol.
Avatar f tn like being preggers and hating nearly every smell. I started cutting back on my ultram...rather fast...and that made me jittery. I only took one tab on Fri. Then Sat-Sun I came down w/ what I thought was the flu. I figured if I was gonna feel like **** I might as well get off the ultram now and get it over with! Now I'm not so sure it's the flu. I think this may indeed be withdrawl symptoms, especially the "heebie-jeebies" during the night. I can not fall asleep.
513154 tn?1340225289 I have a question about Osteoarthritis and the pain that comes with it. Last November I had 5, 6, and 7 upper vertebra fused together and feel so much better in that way BUT i can't take anti inflammatory medications for my Osteoarthritis, Tylenol doesn't even help a bit and non of the arthritis over the counter meds help either. My question is... is there a non narcotic pain medication that I can take every day? I am 45 years old and very healthy besides my arthritis. thank you!
1413564 tn?1281822991 I had to go to the ER lst week, they told me that I should take benadryl and ibuprofen together with a medication for nausea if I have it. If you have any prescriptions, they told me I could take my ultram (I have Fibromyalgia) with the benadryl and nausea med (Have it for side effects of FIbromyalgia) and it works like a charm. Weirdest thing too, because I have had migraines for 15 years and this worked pretty fast and didn't make me totally out of it. It was kinda cool.
Avatar f tn I just read someone was getting off of vic and ultram. My doc just gave me Ultram I take oxy now and am trying to start a tapper off plan. Anyway I did not know ultram was also something you can get hooked on. He told me to take 4 50mgs a day. Also to take my oxy 5 times I take the 20'mgs. I am going to start to tapper tom a.m. I dont want to take the ultram if I can get hooked on it also. Please help!! I don't know weather to take it or not.
Avatar f tn I did 3 epidurals on my neck but no real help. 800 mgs of ibuprofen takes the edge barely off but not much. Teamed the Ultram up with Tylenol and I didn't notice a huge difference either. I have tried Celebrex (nothing), Flexeril (knocks me out), Soma (works ok, but off and on), Zanaflex (horrible reaction, seeing black, similar to low blood pressure). Methocarbamol (sp?) worked out, not so much help with the muscle, but did help a little with sleep.
Avatar f tn Tramadol and Ultram have very little if any effect and I have been told my the family doctor that Ibuprofen, Aleve and Celebrex are now unhealthy for my eye condition. Any suggestions as to what can be taken for pain that won't interfere with the current eye treatments?
1909342 tn?1321993880 I usually take one Tramadol ( 50 mg ) a day for a somewhat chronic pain in my neck, back and shoulders, since I cannot afford physical therapy at the time. Yesterday I took a lot of Ibuprofen and Paracetamol instead, because I had an important exam at the University and didn't want to be groggy. I am concerned, when to start taking Tramadol again or going with the combination of Ibuprofen and Paracetamol instead, since Ibuprofen also has an effect on inflammations. Am I taking to much?
Avatar m tn I have been taking 200 mg of Ultram for 6 months for herniated discs and leg pain. I was under the impression that they were a non-narcotic pain reliever and weren't addictive. However, I found out I'm pregnant last week so I discontinued the medication. This caused me to experience severe withdrawal symptoms along with the back pain. I was concerned the withdrawal would cause a miscarriage so I continued to take them at half the usual dose.
Avatar n tn Today is day 4 for me and yesterday was a wonderful day. However, this morning I am in no pain and feeling the urge to go swollow a pill to get my day going. I hate that feeling. I am trying to resist with every fiber of my being but it is getting more difficult by the minute. Today is the last scheduled day of my Ultram and I can take it but I took my Xanax (for a sleep disorder) last night 12 hours after my last Ultram.
Avatar f tn About 6 months in, the body pain increased to the point that I needed it 2 to 3 times a day and I was starting to notice some stomach issues that seemed directly related to the Ibuprofen, so my doctor gave me a script for Ultram to take twice a day and warned me not to take the Ibuprofen more than once a day. The Ultram didn't work very well though so when things got really bad he prescribed the stuff that House is addicted to... can't remember the name... one of the remaining sides...
Avatar f tn Toradol....I believe is another name for Tramadol/Ultram. If you look up Ultram it comes up under many different names. I could be wrong...but i remember seeing this on wikipedia or some other site.
Avatar m tn good drug and bad drug both are addictive. Hrdo gives more pain releif with less bad effects but both have them. Tramadol ultram is just no good.
Avatar f tn I took Ultram for a while and getting off of the medication was horrible....I have chills and sweating, restless legs and creepy crawlies...I could not concentrate and my heart was pounding in my chest for 4 days stright...It was the worst...If you can talk to your doctor before taking this medicine...espically the er ultram....It is highly addictive and despite what people say it is hard to get off of.
Avatar n tn I believe Ultram and Tramadol have ibuprofen (motrin) in it and at a late stage, I beieve after 24 weeks, it's not the preferred way to go since it can tend sometimes to restrict blow flow from the mother to the baby BUT as with all meds, if your ob/gyn pescribed it to you and he/she truly feels that the benefits outweigh the risks then I'm sure it' ok.
471344 tn?1228755027 Thank you from your input. I am 32 weeks today and I have taken ultram the entire time. She seems to be fine and every doctor visit has been perfect. He says everything will be fine but this is my frist child and I am getting closer to my due date and I have heard things (online) about baby's being born with seizures from Ultram and withdrawls. I have only taken 50mg a day with this baby. Should I try and stop prior to my due date to avoid withdrawl or seizures?
983594 tn?1249672009 ) IN THE MORNING RIGHT WHEN U WAKE UP TAKE 1- 2MG ATIVAN ALONG WITH one 50 mg ULTRAM (ultrams non addictive-its an over glorified Tylenol)(my fathers a dr and said that coming off ultram is very easy) i chew the ultram AFTER i take ativan..gives the ativan time to get down there:) i then take either 2 Tylenol OR 1 800mg ibuprofen (each persons different and might need more but DONT JUST take another in 5 mins because of being impatient!give it time!) 2.
Avatar f tn using one addictive drug to get off another is a very bad idea the last thing you want to do is end up addicted to the tram turst me I have been there its not pretty ...
