Ibuprofen and paxil

Common Questions and Answers about Ibuprofen and paxil

ibuprofen

Is there anything to do (or take) to feel better while discontinuing Paxil? I'm very nauseated and have what other describe as the weird zapping in my head. Would it help to take some ibuprofen for my headache/zapping? Would it help if I took some Gaviscon for the nausea?
For the first week, he took 10 mg, then halfed those pills, then moved on to every other day, and so on. He is now in his 4th day with no Paxil whatsoever, and he is really suffering. He is very sensitive to light and sound, and both worsen the debilitating headhache he is suffering. He has contacted his doctor, who prescribed a migraine medication to lessen the pain. He is unable to function in his daily routine with this pain.
Is there any help out there to deal with this? I have been taking paxil for seven years and gained 40 lbs.
5 mg is an ultra low dose of Paxil. I don't think you'll have too many problems coming off. Just follow your doc's instructions and take it day by day. It already sounds like you're feeling better...this will just be the icing on the cake for you. I'm happy things have turned around for you!
I'm being tapered off paxil right now. And thought I would look up if their were symptoms from going off it. And now I can say now I'm afraid to be tapered off it now after being on it for 3 years. Any advice?
If, for some reason, I need an anticoagulant during or after my ablation (for blood clot for instance), will I be in jeopardy since I am taking the Paxil? Thank you. Dear dlb, I don't know of any interactions between blood thinners and Paxil. The likelihood of being placed on a blood thinner following an ablation is very small. Here is some information for you should that event arise. The following is information on warfarin and it's drug interactions.

Singulair mostly in spring for asthma. Gabapentin for the FIBRO pain. Excedrin and prescrip Ibuprofen for cramps and migraines.
Has tried several different SSRI medicines and I had to stop after just a few doses of each due to severe side effects such as nausea, pains in stomach, headaches, etc. (Effexor, Lexapro, and Paxil). I am currently taking Xanax every day to cope. About one month ago I started getting really bad nausea with stomach pain, it would generally settle in around breakfast time, peak after eating, then come and go through the afternoon.
I am becoming somewhat frustrated with the way a lot of my colleagues practice medicine. Disenchanted, angry would be the other words that could be used. We all get ostensibly that same training and all of us are supposedly in it to help our patients. So, how come have I been getting so many letters lately on my addiction forum from desperate people unable to quit taking the tramadol pills that their own kind doctors have so freely prescribed for them?
Also please don't take ibuprofen, according to medical guidelines ibuprofen is a high risk medication for pregnancy and can cause birth defects, it's a higher category then most narcotics which is why you should talk to your doctor. My doctor put me on a very slow taper and I still have wd symptoms, I was taking 90mg of oxy total a day and in the past month am down to 50mg. I could be tapering faster if I wouldn't have tried CT and started preterm labor.
My doc said OK for tx in small doses cause it counteracts flu like symptoms. But to use Ibuprofen or aspirin for aches, pains, and headaches on a regular basis.
O Migraines rx....amitriptyline, nortriptyline, lexapro, paxil....all of these made me entirely too groggy and so fatigued....probably because now I know that they all have the potential to lower your BP which is probably why I felt so bad on them. Never been on anything longer than a week as the side effects become unbearable. Topamax and Zonegran....same results as above. The university here recommends migraine prevention to be magnesium and B2 (Riboflavin) ....
Chantix is a drug to quit smoking and works on the neurotransmitters in the brain. After I took this drug for two months my thyroid problems kicked in. I did have a nodule pre-Chantix, but it was being watched and there was no growth. Now I'm having big-time thyroid problems. Went to a x-mas party and two other women had thyroid problems, fibromyalgia type symptoms also. Any others out there with similar scenarios???
One night I had a bad headache from eye strain (I am a chronic gamer) and I took some Ibuprofen, a medication that I took very often before the welts started. Within an hour or so I had a dramatic reaction to the medicine. I got these giant welts on my face and body, the likes of which I had never seen before. It scared me because I thought my throat could potentially close. Luckily my throat never felt like it was swelling at all.

I got off the Prilosec and my Estrogen patch and Synthroid and Paxil, thinking one of these is causing the PAC's. No luck. I am back on everything except the Prilosec(been on this much too long)and decided enough is enough. My PAC's are all day. Some hours they are continuous with no relief and I fee very light headed. The doc who at first told me not to worry about them is now wanting me on Zebeta.
until I logged her on to Medhelp.org and put her into the Addiction Forum. It was there that she discovered the perils of Paxil and Klonnopin... and the comfort of knowing that she wasn't the Lone Ranger in her complaints, with sexual dysfunction being one of them (Zoloft didn't conain that, but the Paxil did). I just had to comment on this topic... because my own daughter and sister complained of the very same side-effects.
It quickly fixed my depression/anxiety problems, and I feel okay mood-wise. Although for the first few months, the libido change (MUCH lower) and anorgasmia had been hard to deal with in the begining, but seems to be better. The only thing is that I've noticed over the last several months an effect that is rather disturbing and I don't know if it's due to lexapro? Kind of an inability to think straight sometimes, or loss of short term memory. Just an overall feeling of almost a blank mind.
Hi I have Lupus, Fibromyalgia, Sjogren's, Hypothyroid, Raynaud's, Migrains, all of which have caused me to gain extreme amounts of weight from being confined to a bed for several years and being put on medications such as steroids and Paxil to treat the pain. I am a 35 year old woman who is 5' 8" who was always very thin until I got sick and then went from 145 lbs to 313 lbs in one year!
dont want to get into the drug rut again.St John's Wort has helped and the extreme sadness has gone. I take ibuprofen and vicodin and make myself exercize every other day, I am eating right....any support/suggestions will be gratefully received.
I apologize ahead of time for how long this will be, but I need help in deciding what to do next. I'm nearly 48 and a single mom of 4 (10, 12, 14, and nearly 18.) I have sole custody and get no help either financially or in any other way from my ex. After my last baby I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I had a hard time with that and wasn't even sure if it was a "real" diagnosis. I tried different medications for it but nothing really helped.
I was on the wait list for an MRI, so while waiting, I was sent to the rheumatology dept and began to treat my fibromyalgia again, this time with flexiril and elavil (and my ibuprofen). My MRI report said that disc L-5 S-1 was desiccated and also had moderate DDD and end plate degeneration. There is a vascular hemangioma in L-3. My HMO's pain clinic suggests epidural injections to treat my pain, and if that didn't work, a laminectomy would be the next option.
I have been checked out by Neuro, ENT and GP and NOTHING. I'm wondering if I have TMJ but I don't know. Here are my symptoms... Right ear pain Right ear fullness/ringing Pain behind right eye spot headaches on right side grinding teeth at night stiff neck - going into my shoulders I had an MRI/MRA back in Oct and all it showed was chronic sinusitis which I am being treated for by my ENT however he knows the pain is not coming from my ear. I am worried. Could this be an aneursym?

too much sun in the eyes, stress/anxiety, certain foods, hormone fluctuations, fumes, and I am sure there are more. I used to get them for any reason in the book, but Paxil (20mg each day) got them under control. Now they are usually related to hormone fluctuations/menstruation (they occur every 4-8 weeks and can last 24-72 hours). It seems to help if I avoid eating cheese and chocolate. There are migraine meds but I had a bad reaction and cannot take them.
