Ibuprofen and ovarian cysts

Common Questions and Answers about Ibuprofen and ovarian cysts

ibuprofen

Avatar f tn You do not have to have surgery for ovarian cysts. They can be painful, mine usually hurts most when I'm ovulating. Ibuprofen helps, as well as a heating pad.
Avatar f tn m an 18 year old women, Today I was told by my doctor I have a kidney infection possible ovarian cysts and I just started me period for this month so perfect. I gave her a urine sample this morning but couldn't produce enough for her to send out to a lab so they tested in her office. She put me on an antibiotic but I'm crying because I'm in so much pain, what can I do to relieve this?
Avatar m tn More than 98%t of ovarian cysts are none cancer. Ovarian cysts in women are very common. Most resolve themselves with out surgery. If you can take something like Ibuprofen that can help with inflammation.
Avatar m tn The GYN would do the menopause so to try and differentiate between the pain of cysts and endometriosis. Endometriosis can be painful, but not always, but the cysts shouldn't cause any problems, unless they are not normal cysts, in a menopausal state. As for the black outs, I've never heard of that happening to someone, but it could happen if the pain is really bad. I quickly pulled that out of my school book. I would just make sure that the doctor knows about the black outs.
368844 tn?1262319347 I am 39 and only recently started having ovarian cysts. They were not tested for cancer. At the time I was undergoing a complete thyroidectory for thyroid cancer. It seems strange to have both things going wrong at the same time. I am going to the OB tomorrow - should I be worried about ovarian cancer. I am in a lot of pain on my right side and feel a burning sensation frequently.
Avatar f tn Your symptoms are consistent with an ovarian cyst. Ovarian cysts are very common and can be extremely painful at times, especially if they rupture during menstruation. However, they do not cause any serious problems, aside from the pain. Try taking a a pain medication like ibuprofen. Consult your PCP if symptoms become too severe or last for more than a few days.
Avatar f tn The ER doctor told me that they go away on their own and not to worry. I was advised to take Ibuprofen for pain. Any advice????
1092854 tn?1292620351 I have been having ovarian cysts for a yr and half now and most every time they are on my right side. My ob did US and said there are 2 cyst fluid filled one 2cm and the other 2.6cm he said they are nothing to worry about we would just watch them. Well after that my pap came back and I have irregular cells and have to have colposcopy done Jan 18th. With the cysts on the right side i have been having pain and some days why more pain than I care to have.
Avatar f tn 2 years back I was told that I have ovarian cysts (the doctor say me once, and told me to go to a specialist, but w/o insurance I could not afford it) The cysts keep reoccurring (or are not going away), and are getting more and more painful. I I have varying amounts of pain day-to-day, ranging from my pelvis, abdomen, lower back, and then down my thighs (when it's really bad). It hurts to cough, sometimes pee, have sex, and walk (when it's really bad).
Avatar f tn im 35 yrs old and 3 days ago, i was told by my GYN that i have a 2cm ovarian cyst on my left ovary......she said we have to wait for a month or two to have it check again as it is still small.....but my worry is that i'm having constant pain everyday......sometimes it gets severe.....my gyn only give me ibuprofen to take.does this causes severe pain????or im the only one? i might go for a second opinion esp with the pain i;m experiencing. thanks.god bless.
Avatar f tn Hello, so this is like my 4th rupture this year alone and it has been complete pain. I always throw up non stop each time and can barely keep anything including liquids in my system due to the pain I guess, but I end up taking medicine to keep me from throwing up each time. I've also been taking ibuprofen for the pain. I wanted to know if there's anything I can do to stop it from happening every so often or at all??
Avatar n tn I had the Mirena IUD put in Oct.2007 and Removed June 2009. I have no previous history of cysts, etc. So basically I have been having a pain in my right lower side for a YEAR or very close to a year. It is constant and some days hurt more then others. I figured maybe the IUD was causing it but the pain has continued even with it removed.
Avatar f tn It hurts on and off, sometimes worse than usual, and when I cough, pee, have sex (and getting worse!), and walk (when it's really bad). My periods are fairly regular, but HURT so so so bad. The doctor I saw also prescribed some pain killers - did not help. Ibuprofen doesn't do much - so nothing really helps. I also lost a ton of weight after my 3 son was born. I went from from 150 (my pre-birth "regular" weight), to 115 in under 3 months.
Avatar f tn I went through countless ultrasounds dealing with ovarian cysts, and ended up having 2 surgeries for it. I would absolutely get a second opinion for another doctor if you can to have more opinions or ideas of how to treat the ovarian cysts whether they find that maybe they can find a medication(birth control, etc) that wont effect any other medications you are on due to your hypothyroidism or decide if getting you on a surgery list is in your best interest.
Avatar f tn The cyst is probably leaking causing the fluid in your pelvis. Cysts can cause discomfort or pain so I wouldn't worry much about that. If it's too bothersome, ibuprofen should help. It's good it's a simple cyst and is shrinking despite the fact it's taking its good old time!
Avatar f tn A month ago, I went to the doctor up at school (I am 20 and attend a university) and the doctor felt my ovaries and said they felt fine; she said the pain was probably still from the ruptures and to just take ibuprofen (it doesn't help). Could the pain still be from the ruptures or is something else going on? Sometime the pain is severe enough to make me just sit still for a couple minutes until it goes away... the pain also seems to wrap around to my lower back at times.
Avatar n tn Hello, I am hoping that someone has had some experience with ovarian cysts and the use of birth control (nuva ring) to prevent ovulation. My doctor started me on the nuva ring in hopes that it would help with the pain from bilateral ovarian simple cysts that measure 5cm and 4.2 cm. If anyone has experience with this type of treatment please respond to the following questions. Does birth control help with the pain from ovarian cysts? Does using birth control help ressolve the existing cysts?
Avatar f tn Ovarian cysts can be benign or malignant but the majority (over 90%) are benign. A lot depends on your age and what type of cyst it is - functional, dermoid, etc. Your doctor hopefully will let you know if there is anything to be concerned about. You can google "ovarian cysts" to get more information so you know what questions to ask at your appointment. Please let us know how it goes.
Avatar n tn What is the difference between ovarian cysts and ovarian cancer. I haven't had a period for 3 months now and I have a sharp pain in my lower right side, as well as back pain, especially in the mornings. once in a while i am off balance when walking. i am bloated, and a lot of times i don't have an appetite.
Avatar n tn Also be mindful of your diet, there is a link between insulin resistance and ovarian cysts. It is best to stay away from processed white flour products like bread and pasta, and the worst culprit is of course sugar.
1068834 tn?1294009992 i have an ovarian cyst at 16 yrs old i was diagnosed with 5 ovarian cysts i got sent in to emerge after 4 months of continuous bleeding and doctors telling me im fine and theirs nothing to worry about now im 20 yrs old and still have one of my cysts measuring 5cm and in the bigining it n was 7 cm and after my surgery i was told i couldn't have children but i am now a mother of a 21 month old daughter so in all just keep an eye on your cysts and if you need to get a second opinion.
Avatar f tn I suppose a high creatinine level could indirectly be related to ovarian cysts as ovarian cysts can aggravate hydronephrosis, which in turn elevated creatinine levels.
7906573 tn?1395249076 I am a 42 year old, otherwise healthy woman with no familial history cancer, but a maternal history of postmenopausal ovarian cysts and uterine fibroids, all leading my mom to have her cysts and ovaries removed in her 50s. For the past 6-12 months, my menstrual cycle has been regular at 28 days, but periods have been a very heavy blood flow with unprecedented, debilitating cramps, causing me to miss work on day one of some cycles.
