ibuprofen

I happen to have chronic acute angle glaucoma. I've had 1 laser iridotomy in each eye and the angle has not opened. thank you.
I am a 38 yo white female and currently underwent laser iridoplasty in both eyes for closed angle glaucoma. Tues for one and the other on Thurs. My left eye surgery felt different to me. It was more uncomfortable and afterwards, it seemed it took more time to 'clear' up. It has now been a week tomorrow and I am still experiencing a headache but I think it is from the blurry vision I have when I try to read, look at my phone or the computer.
My glaucoma specialist ( she did both a cataract and glaucoma operation on me a little over two years ago ), recently has me on Bromday for the past two months to try to correct an eye problem I've been having. When she first put me on Bromday, she instructed me to use it once a day, but, only when I felt I needed it.( When I would feel eye pain, discomfort in the eye, or excessive tearing) I would do so, and, within two to four days the eye pain and tearing would go away.
I discussed these symptoms with an ophthalmologist about 3 years ago who tested for glaucoma, he said I didn't have it and I am not in a risk group for this. I have none of the glaucoma symptoms listed online. I'm not on medication beyond occasional ibuprofen, and have no known allergies. I don't have a high caffeine intake, nor do I use other stimulants. It doesn't seem linked to spikes in stress or anxiety.
It hurts terribly to move it and even when I have taken a 800mg ibuprofen, if I move it too far in any direction, it hurts. I am taking ibuprofen around the clock. I have had some blurriness but no loss of vision. My eye doctor and neuro are not sure if it is optic neuritis. I go for a MRI on Friday and hope it shows whatever is causing the pain. Last night when I was trying to go to sleep, closing my left eye made the pain spread into the back of my head and behind my ear.
I have the pains sometimes as many as 10 perhour. Acetaminophen didnt cut the pain at all so I changed to ibuprofen. That didnt help either. I got some rest but when I woke up just now the pains were still there. Im starting to get worried. Im just wondering if this is like a migraine pain or something or if this is a medical emergency like an aneurysm. What adds to this issue is back in june I was sitting on the couch one night when I got really dizzy.
Also, my vision fluctuates, but is still 20/20 when I go in to the eye doctor and I do not have glaucoma. I have been checked by four different eye doctors, one of them specializing in glaucoma. I have been seeing halos/glare around objects/lighst in rooms and glare/halos from stoplights and headlights. My eyes seem to get quite dry, but I use eye drops, so that should be helping.
Also if I am in a dark room and someone opens the door the light appears much brighter than it would normally and takes a while oto adjustI had a throrough eye exam and the optician found nothing wrong, no glaucoma, peripheral vision perfect and all other tests completely normal. I took a nasty bang to the head in the gym just over 3 weeks ago and had a few ice pick headaches for a couple of weeks after. Headaches gone by eye feels weird. I am wondering if the two are related.
I just had a physical and my blood pressure was great.I recently(2 months) had an eye operation for glaucoma on my left eye.The headaches started about 2 weeks ago.Talked to eye Dr. and was told it had nothing to do with my eyes.Any ideas about preventing these?
When I get a headache I take 800mg ibuprofen and it seems to work after 20 mins the headache doesn't stop it just gets better. when the headache starts I have to sit somewhere in the fetal position and rock back and forth I’m not surd if it helps but that seems like the only thing I can do because of the pain. I also have a pea-size lump on my left temple which I've had for over a year without pain until now.
NSAIDs Tucci (author), Indimetacin. Ok, after taken 1000 mg (never had this dose level before) of Ibuprofen, I had began to experience frequent urination that night. Not realizing a possible connection, I took the same dose again the following day and 3 celebrex (1 day dose)during that week. Problem with frequent urination continues six weeks later. 6-7x a night at minimum. Problem also during the day.
Hello, yesterday I was punched on the left side of my face twice both times in the eye as well. I had on contacts and it came out. I went to the emergency room immediately afterwards & they gave something to ice it. My eye was red & i was seeing pink for about 30 min but that went away. The ER Dr checked my face for any softness & said it felt fine...gave me ibuprofen. There's numbness on my left cheekbone, leftside of my nose & bridge and left upper.
I can get it to go up when I move around. I am 35 and not on any meds except tylenol, ibuprofen, prevacid and xanax for my panic attacks due to my headaches. The pain can be intense but mostly its a dull ache with a little burning sensation. Very hard to explain. Very achey. It simmers down when i put an ice pack on it and when i go to sleep. But in the morning its back with a vengance.
About an hour later my left eye felt worse and i almost had a headache in that eye. The eye itself felt painful and sore inside (deep pain). I took some pain killers and ibuprofen and it relieved it. Now the pain has gone that eye that was effected feels sore and almost dry & gritty as i move my eye ball around. I also feel generally weak now. I have what i think is TMJ as i grit my teeth a lot and last night my temples ached as does my neck and shoulders etc.
The pain in your forehead region along with tiredness of eyes can be due to refractive errors of the eye like myopia, hypermetropia, astigmatism, and eye conditions like glaucoma and cataract. It can also be due to sinusitis but this will cause other symptoms of sinusitis too. Poor sleep pattern and sleep disturbances are the other factors. Hope this helps. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Do consult your doctor.
I accidentally discovered a few years ago that a relatively small amount of prednisone (10 mg every other day) and two ibuprofen tablets a day keep me 100 percent symptom free with no apparent side effects. They only work in combination; neither prednisone nor ibuprofen does much of anything on its own (a fact that strikes me as diagnostically interesting).
I was punched on the left side of my face about 3 wks ago while trying to apprehend an offender. It's still very tender and numb under the eye, on the cheek, the left side of my nose, upper lip and upper gum on the left. I went straight to the hospital from the incident and was given a cold-pack because my eye was really red and swollen. The dr's prognosis was "facial contusion" & I was given ibuprofen & that's it.
I Googled - ibuprofen scotoma - or - ibuprofen vision side effects -- and found that scotomas, colour perception changes and other visual disturbances are a reported side effect of Ibuprofen. Do any of you regularly take medications that contain Ibuprofen?
Darvon is not an effective pain reliever for chronic pain. There have been studies that confirm the fact that even Ibuprofen is more effective. So in my opinion I would not consider Darvon. Tramadol has been effective for some chronic pain patients. However don't be mislead by it's drug category of a non-narcotic. It does have addictive qualities similar to those of morphine. I would not be surprised to see it changed to the controlled substance list in the future.
For example, I have different size pupils that have different reaction to light. I thought I had a brain tumor, or an an aneurysm, or Glaucoma, or some damn thing. You know what...it is nothing after going to three neuros and eye doctors. It is just the way I am built. 3.) Maybe it is mucus or some thing like that. Post nasal drip / sinus infection can do the same things. Right now I am taking Biaxin for the sinus infection (AND IT ALWAYS COMES BACK!
My illnesses are diabetes mellitus,hydrothoyrism,osteo-arthritis,mild glaucoma, sensory neural hearing loss-right side and unexplained right sided intensive tinitus which has been extensively investigated but no clear diagnoses.
Prednisone, especially when taken long term, can cause a wide range of serious side effects, including diabetes, thinning bones (osteoporosis), broken bones (osteonecrosis), high blood pressure, cataracts, glaucoma and weight gain. Azathioprine (Azasan, Imuran). Azathioprine, another immunosuppressant medication, is sometimes used along with prednisone. Using both medications may allow you to take a smaller dose of prednisone, reducing its side effects.
Again if I get up the pain immediately lessens but takes much longer to go away and I usually take ibuprofen to help it. I have mild hypertension that was discovered when I initially complained of the headaches. I was originally diagnosed as having hyperaldosteronism but now that theory is losing ground because my aldosterone levels are OK (just on the high end of the normal range). I am taking spironolactone 25mg, amiloride 5mg and lately clonidine 0.1mg.
anyone have any experiences with pain meds? i dont take tylenol because of my liver, aspriin and ibuprofen dont agree with me either. i have fibrosis not cirrhosis and cleared the virus with treatment. so i do have some concerns about ULTRAM as ive found some sites where some feel it is hard to wean off of and it can affect people differently. it doesnt sound like your run-of-the-mill pain medication. just wondering.......
I have called and told him about a month ago about this and he told me to go to my regular dr, that he didnt think it was because of hep c...and I have no other conditions...I hate my dr...I think im going to call him and see what he can do and if he doesnt do anything to help me, I am going to tell him that I am going to find a real dr...I dont think he takes this disease seriously. What do yall think I should do?...and I agree about the weed thing, they should make it legal.lol...
I took 800mg of ibuprofen about an hour after shot and nothing happened. I watched tv all night long. Every shot since (coming up on seven) has been as EASY. Before TX I had bad symptoms of arthritis in my shoulder and hips and it went away after starting TX...I don't even take glucosimin any more and I was hooked on it along with hyluranic acid, cuz it was the only thing that worked to alleviate the pain.
every time i get this vertigo, i also have a severe headache with it. actually, i've had the headache since the second time i came down with it in december. ibuprofen dulls the pain for a while, but it never goes away. i also have this constant pressure/pain in my right ear. anyway, after the final tests, i asked the audiolgist what he thought. he said he would have to speak to the doctor and get back to me.
-oral surgery to remove wisdom teeth and a growth on his tongue; used a general anesthesia and was given follow up meds(Ibuprofen, amoxicillin, and methylprednisolone) Day after surgery: -insomnia (he didn’t sleep at all) -had to settle for a liquid for his mouth to heal, but then began to lose his appetite completely… when he did try to eat, he made facial expressions that made it seem as though its flavor was unpleasant, but this could be due to the sores -grew paranoid over his health and
The side effects are great an unfortunately many. One serious side effect is glaucoma in the eyes (I had a friend who got this and literally lost her eye site for a short period of time). I was on Topomax pre-decompression surgery but my friend called me an told me about her eye issues and I quickly stopped it! To me my site was more important than having a headache. Ur side effects are all common with Topomax, not that that makes u feel any better.
Blood pressure was normal. He gave me ibuprofen and sent me home and tried to reassure me. Next day I went back to the opticians (this was my 3rd eye examination) coz I was so worried. She said they were healthy looking enough and if there was anything untoward she would see it. She tried to reassure me and told me your sinuses are all throughout your head and behind your eyes etc. I hadnt eaten much for a few days so I went home had something to eat, took an ibuprofen and went to sleep.
