It is often more harsh on your stomach and can cause a GI bleed without warning. However some ppl take it for years (as directed) and do not suffer from GI distress.
However medical researchers contend that long term use or high doses of acetaminophen is more toxic to the liver that IB.

I have a massive period ache , therefore I took 1100 mg of ibuprofen . At first I had taken 500 mg tablet but it's been an hour and a half and it did not help , so I took an other tablet of ibuprofen of 600 mg .
The pain is gone but I feel very tired , can I be harmed or die out of it ?
Should I ask for help ? Or has anybody been familiar with it ? Please help me , I am a hypochondriac person and I also have OCD and use Prozac .
I have been trying to manage my symptoms of pain(sharp and throbbing) in my lower right and left side of the abdominal area. I asked my GI what to take and he said tylenol. I also asked if I could also take ibuprofen and naproxen sodium because tylenol isn't working well and he said yes, just not at once. This doesn't seem right. Am I wrong in this assumption?
liver disease all can cause weakness and fatigue. Anxiety and depression can also cause generalized weakness and fatigue. Take a balanced diet and take adequate rest. A clinical examination and work up for above mentioned causes may be helpful See a pyhsician.He may further refer you to a specialist depending on the clinical examination findings. I was prescribed Mupirocin for a non-healing nasal ulcer. I used it for about 2 days then woke up with a bad headache today from the get go. I've tried everything I can. I have taken Tylenol TWICE, Hydrocodone with Acetaminophen in it, nasal spray, a Breathe Right nasal strip (since I do have severe sinus problems.) NOTHING has worked or given any relief.
Advil is fine and you can also take pepcid for you ulcers. If you need something srtonger for either then you will need to see your Dr.
Approx 1 yr ago, she had an upper GI bleed (dark stool) and required several units of blood. She was taken off Coumadin and stroked; symptoms . She was treated within 30 minutes with intravenous TPA, with near 100% recovery. Coumadin was restarted. 11 months later, Mom experienced trace bright red blood with diarrhea. INR/PT within normal range, and blood count was good. She was admitted and diagnosed with colitis.

If your stools are dark and you taste blood in mouth and the taste has altered, then your reflux is not under control. Also you have an active GI bleed either in food pipe or stomach or first part of intestine. If neglected, this can turn serious. Omeprazole alone is not helping you. You will need a combination of acid and reflux reducing drugs. Also some life style changes you will need to follow. Avoid heavy meals and eat frequent small meals.
blood in stools, also known as melaena and indicates the presence of blood (oxidized haemoglobin) from an upper GI bleed. Causes could be infections, inflammation, gastric/ GI ulcers, oesophageal varices, GI growths/ polyps, a-v malformations, varices, diverticulosis, fistulas, fissures, AV malformation, GI ischaemia and necrosis, bleeding disorders etc. Without further evaluation it would be difficult to differentiate between the causes.
An endoscopy and colonoscopy were performed and both were negative. No further GI studies were done, and I was discharged. While in the hospital, my blood values showed very low WBC and low neutrophils. I was referred to a hemotologist who has monitored me since then. All my blood counts since June 2009 have shown the same results, low wbc and low neutrophils (absolute). Otherwise, I have been healthy with no increase in infections.
My wife 55years age has pain under the left breast on the rib and in upper stomach f0r last 2months.She has burning sensation,depression,stress,and energy loss.She is taking paracetamol+ibuprofen as a pain killer which gives temporary relief only.She is also taking ofloxacin200mg 01BD for the last 15 days and also one capsule daily of Pantoprazole +domperidone combination.But all this is of no avail. November 1994 Upper GI Bleed from me chewing Aspergum, tested me for HIV and I was positive. Year 2000 Upper GI Bleed, 8 blood transfusions duodenum ulcer. Feb 2010 Upper GI Bleed. I've had GERD a long time, taken Proton Pump Inhibitors for years and I have it under control. I started eating many smaller meals per day, becoming aware that chewing my food better I use less water and that means less stomach acid, and Proton Pump Inhibitors and I went our separate ways.
Because it is asprin and asprin thins the blood and makes it harder for ur blood to clot! U could bleed out when in labor! Ibuprofen is on the can take side! I see a lot of post on here saying yes take tylenol ur doctors say its ok up to 1000mg. This is my 4th baby and every time my doctors have said no tylenol! Is my doctor wrong? Or is it a preference thing between doctors?
Your pain is not from carbon dioxide. The reason that we use carbon dioxide is that it is absorbed rapidly from the abdominal cavity and you breath it out. It is typically gone by the time you leave the recovery room. Nurses and uninformed physicians have perpetuated the myth that pain in the right shoulder following laparoscopic cholecystectomy is from "the gas." The truth is that it is surgical pain from irritation to the diaphragm.
