Common Questions and Answers about Ibuprofen and excedrin

ibuprofen

Avatar f tn The fact the headaches are severe and respond to Excedrin and not the others is some suggestion it could be migraines, but mild ones as you don't report blurry vision or nausea and migraines are really bad headaches.
Avatar f tn What, if anything can I take for a headache? I've read far too many mixed reviews. I have advil and ibuprofen here, just don't Wana take anything besides my pre natals, too nerve wracking!
Avatar n tn No, do not take Excedrin Tension Headache or Ibuprofen (Advil, Motion) when trying to conceive. Do not take it before, during or after ovulation. During your period may be permissable. Tylenol is OK to take.
Avatar n tn I'm a 44 year old woman and I've been taking Excedrin (without aspirin) every day for 15 years now...I've taken up to 8-10 a day at times and then I started taking Excedrin PM every night after my husband passed away 9 years ago. Will this cause serious harm to my liver or kidneys?
Avatar f tn I have a history of migraines so I know the feeling of pain and not being able to sleep. Excedrin while pregnant is not good though and neither is ibuprofen. Only tylenol but when I was in the hospital the nurses said I could drink a soda so that's ok. The caffeine REALLY helps. Hope u feel better.
Avatar f tn Tylenol and Excedrin TENSION is safe. The other kinds of Excedrin are not. Tylenol does nothing for my headaches so I had to find something else.
Avatar f tn Hi and welcome to the forum. I used excedrin migrain n it worked for me. Congrats on wanting to get clean. There is support here, but we also stress aftercare. It is essential to longterm recoverty. Good luck n keep posting!
Avatar n tn I would like to know how much excedrin sinus (aceteminophen 325mg and phenyleprine HCI 5mg) a dehydrated 120 pound female would have to take in order to have it show up in a positive drug screen for MDMA or Ectasy?
620877 tn?1282764097 Thank you for your advice - maybe I will try Excedrin and see if that works. I think that the headaches that I get are neuropathic in nature - they are unlike any headache I have ever had. Very hard to describe the way they feel - since they are so different. I came to the conclusion that they might be neuropathic because when I was trying to take the Gabapentin, they got better. Now that could be a coincidence, but since I stopped taking the gabapentin, the headaches are back...
Avatar m tn Sleep has been pretty good considering the w/d hell. I usually take half an ambien and fall right to sleep. My problem is I wake 5 or 6 hours later with my heart about to jump out of my chest and can't go back to sleep. Not a fast heart beat but just nervousness and dreading that I have to get up and go to work 2 hours later. I've tried aspirin, tylenol, ibuprofen, and just about everything else for this headache but it usually only helps for an hour or two.
Avatar f tn I wake up with a headache, and I take 800 mg of ibuprofen with 2-3 cups of coffee. The pain subsides but comes back sometime in the middle of the day or early evening. At that time I take two Excedrin and have another cup of coffee. Before going to bed at night, the pain is usually back, but it's too early to take more Excedrin so I have another cup of coffee and another 800 mg of ibuprofen.
Avatar f tn I'm 6 weeks and having horrible headaches, back pain and cramping. I wanted to know what I can take and what works. I'm a little hesitant due to having a miscarriage and I just moved out of state and can't see a doctor until next week.
127124 tn?1326735435 I took 1000mg of ibuprofen at noon today and it did nothing. I really want to put my head on my desk and take a nap.
1742269 tn?1315381633 I had to revert back to taking excedrin because i have not had much success with this product, except for when my jaw, TMJ, is acting up.
950394 tn?1261347338 I am Stage 1 Grade 1 and can take pretty much anything. I have tried Motrin, Extra Strength Tylenol, Excedrin and Aleve for the headaches I get from treatment. None of those worked, so I use Tramadol, a prescription. The condition of your liver is the key to what the real answer to this question is. Your doctor can best answer it. Good luck.
Avatar f tn My doctor told me that the only over-the counter medication I can take while pregnant is Tylenol...anything else like ibuprofen, aleve, excedrin, etc. Is bad for the baby. Hope that helps you & your migraine goes away quickly!
Avatar f tn Studies have demonstrated that at certain dosages, ibuprofen can stress the liver and elevate liver enzymes in people with Hepatitis C. Ibuprofen must be used with extreme caution in the later stages of liver disease and for those on interferon therapy. 3. Aspirin – (Bayer, Anacin, Excedrin and others) reduces fever, relieves pain, and acts as an anti-inflammatory and blood thinner.
Avatar f tn The best OTC meds that I have found that works is Excedrin. It is a combo of Aspirin, Tylenol and Caffeine and that happens to be an excellent combo for migraines. 5. I mentioned caffeine before...well, drink coffee, Mt Dew, take Vivirin...sometimes a mega dose of caffeine will stop it in its tracks. 6. If you get nauseous or dizzy get some Meclizine from the pharmacy (the stuff behind the counter) you can take 25mg three times a day as needed. Yes it works on both.
Avatar f tn m 9 wks and I usually take extra strength ibuprofen or excedrin migraine.....I had a debilitating migraine last night. Took the Tylenol and it only got worse. I was a hot mess in the bed until now at 5am. Smh.... what are some remedies I can try next time? omg I really thought my head was going to explode or something..
Avatar n tn I'm am 9weeks today and yesterday I started having the absolute worst migraine I have ever had. It got a little better over night but this morning it got even worse. Im trying not to take any medicine because I know it's not good for the baby. But this is insane. Ny vision even gets blurry with this. I am thinking it could be because of the rapid hormone change. Is this Norma.
5900973 tn?1396064391 I talked to my ob last night and she said to drink water and lay on my side. I did this and tried to sleep with not much luck.. I didn't sleep well last night. I had cramps off and on but not as often. Then in the morning my hands and feet were swollen and I felt lots of pressure in my pelvis. I figured the pressure was just the baby Ina new position, I'm 25 weeks. So for most of today I've just had the pressure feeling.
Avatar f tn Try excedrin - it's one of the stronger OTC pain meds and it helped enormously for my headaches. And the body aches. And I took it in the morning so the caffeine in this med helped to get me going for the day. And I made sure I took it only in the morning so it wouldn't affect my sleep. Might be worth a shot? :) p.s. and i agree with soaddicted, hot baths, and sitting in a dark room also helps alot!
3837157 tn?1348286069 I took a .5mg Xanex for anxiety about 12 hours ago, but now have a killer headache and want to take an Excedrin for it. Will there be any complications or has the Xanex worked it's way out of my system yet? 21 year old male, about 290lb, don't drink, haven't smoked in a year, no recreational drug use.
Avatar f tn s excedrin migraine (my doctor told me to take excedrin and then ibuprofen 2 hours later on the really bad days). It's a trial and error process unfortunately! Take care!
Avatar f tn I still get them ocassionaly but nothing like the first month, so it does get better. Excedrin and a cold rag on my head worked best for me. I hope you get to feeling better.
Avatar f tn Two months ago I experienced an overdose on excedrin, clonidine and benadryl and recovered. At the time, I was informed of a potential heart murmur. Lymph nodes have been tender and large for years but one has become hard in the last month. I occasionally have moments where I loose a couple seconds and get startled. I get random, painless muscle spasms quite regularly. I normally have lower blood pressure floating around 120/55.
