At that time I was taking 50 mg of Atenelol per day for heart palpitations, nothing more than OTC acid reducer. The new MD prescribed Hyzaar for HPB. I had horrible feelings so we cut it to half per day 25mg and 25 Atenelol. I still have days that I cannot function, I feel heavy in my head and chest and just have no energy at all. I have great days and horrible days but lately more horrible days. I just don't feel right.
My MD put me on Hyzaar for hypertension. Previously I had been on Cozaar but she changed it to Hyzaar for the added benefit of the diuretic.
I noticed my drug company autosubbed generic Losortan. The bottle doesn't say anything about hydrochlorothiazide being included. Could I be getting the wrong thing, or should I assume some form of hydrochlorothiazide is included?
I have been told that it is hereditary and there is nothing I can do to stop it. I am on metoprolol tartare 25 mg. and hyzaar 100/25, both taken 1 qd. hyzaar in am and meto... in pm. We are talking that within 2 years I will have a valve replacement (when it reaches 5.0 cm). Is there anything I can do to stop the progression?
It is a combination of Valsartan and the same diuretic as Hyzaar. It is essentially the same as Hyzaar which contains a combination of hydrochlorothiazide and losartan. Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic (water pill) that helps prevent your body from absorbing too much salt, which can cause fluid retention. Losartan is also in a group of drugs called angiotensin II receptor antagonists.
I was on Lisinopril for kidneys too but it made me cough too much so my doctor switched me to Hyzaar.
Also, I feel very tired most of the day. My weight is 170 pounds, blood pressure is normal (I take Hyzaar) and cholestorel levels within normal range. I have had EKG, Stress Test, and Echo done and all came out OK. The EKG shows early repolarization. I have been experiencing the sympoms often now and I am worried if I have CAD, but my doc seems not be too worried about it. Also, one of my uncles died young because of heart attack.
Any suggestions woould help.
Exercise (aerobic) can help the heart increase heart contractions. Does your stress test report indicate hypokinesis (heart muscle impairment)? Is your ejection fraction (EF) between 50 and 70%...that calculation is the amount in percentage of blood pumped out of the left ventricle with each heartbeat? Is your left ventricle enlarged? Those readings would indicate degree of any lost contractility, and whether or not there should be treatment and another cardiologist's analysis.
I would suggest that you see your primary care physician so that he/she can assess your symptoms and make a determination of investigations/ treatments to plan the future course of action.
I wake up with numb hands alot sometimes up my arms too. Pressure is normal and I am on Crestor at the maximum dose, toprol xl, coumadin, plavix, hyzaar, aciphex, hay fever meds. Also, for the last 6 months my Mean corpusle size has been high. Other tests ok... so my doctor is not real concerned. Anyhow, I am alittle concerned. Do you folks have any ideas at Med whatever this is?

Recently found I am at stage 1 fibrosis. Have stopped drinking and have never had symptoms. Failed twice on Interfuron once peg once once regular. Will be checking for esophageal varices and fetoprotein. Frankly ... I am concerned with how many years I may have left. Also, wondering when may protease inhibitors be available. Ans I believe I may have contracted the disease during AIT at Fort sam Houston when pressurized vaccination were given and the so called gun had a lot of blood on it.
I was nearly incapacitated with 2 weeks of skipped beats with inability to perform daily activities and less than 2 hours of sleep each night. After seeing the doctor, the EKG showed PVCs and ST depressions. I was then sent for a nuclear treadmill stress test, did okay, pictures were okay, and echocardiogram was okay. Now I'm told it's NORMAL for me to have had these symptoms. I've improved, but how can this be NORMAL?
He is currently on Tikosyn, Pradaxa for Clot Prevention/Stroke, Hyzaar for his 40-year-history of HPB, Zoloft for anxiety/depression following a job loss in 3/09, Gabapention for sciatica, and Vitamin D and multivitamin. My doctor prescribed the medicine NADOLOL to be taken long with FLECAINIDE nd my blood pressure med. HYZAAR. I am very tired and my heart rate is around 48, 50 bpm. Did anyone else take this medicine NADOLOL, and did it affect your heart rate like mine? This seems to be the only adverse side effect of my ablation, so far.
My PCP added Verapamil to my current meds which include 60 mgs Cymbalta, Hyzaar , One half .25 mg Xanax nightly ( I have been trying to get off Xanax completely for awhile now, but that's another forum). Started on a beta blocker: Atenolol, 25mg. Dosage increased to 50 mg 1x per day a few years ago. My doc wanted to increase it in January but I declined as my symptoms = fatigue. I am a 21 year old female. I have hypertension and I am treated with hyzaar 25/100 for it. I am overweight and previously had a very poor diet with no exercise. I have high cholesterol and high triglycerides also. I take wellbutrin XL 150 mg, vyvanse 50 mg and and strattera 80 mg. I developed swelling in my fingers in both hands this winter. It is perfectly symmetrical and located in the fatty tissue before my knuckle where my finger meets my hand. They are reddish plaque looking areas.
I feel something similar, usually I have few heart problems, although some. But after eating mostly anything, my heart rate seems weird. This happens most of the time, but rarely it doesn't. I think I will try to get a holter to diagnose mine.
