Avatar m tn I still have days that I cannot function, I feel heavy in my head and chest and just have no energy at all. I have great days and horrible days but lately more horrible days. I just don't feel right. I have also added 5000 Vitamin D and multi-minerals to my daily regimin. I just don't know what else to do. I have been to the ER with low pulse rate and they ran some blood test and did x rays and found no heart problems. Could it just be the medication?
Avatar n tn My MD put me on Hyzaar for hypertension. Previously I had been on Cozaar but she changed it to Hyzaar for the added benefit of the diuretic. I noticed my drug company autosubbed generic Losortan. The bottle doesn't say anything about hydrochlorothiazide being included. Could I be getting the wrong thing, or should I assume some form of hydrochlorothiazide is included?
Avatar n tn Also, I feel very tired most of the day. My weight is 170 pounds, blood pressure is normal (I take Hyzaar) and cholestorel levels within normal range. I have had EKG, Stress Test, and Echo done and all came out OK. The EKG shows early repolarization. I have been experiencing the sympoms often now and I am worried if I have CAD, but my doc seems not be too worried about it. Also, one of my uncles died young because of heart attack. Any suggestions woould help.
Avatar m tn t really have anything to worry about. He suggested some lifestyle changes (more exercise and losing some weight) and changed one of my blood pressure meds. I've had high blood pressure for about 10 years, usually under control with Hyzaar and Norvasc. I feel fine. Should I get a second opinion?
Avatar f tn I have been told that it is hereditary and there is nothing I can do to stop it. I am on metoprolol tartare 25 mg. and hyzaar 100/25, both taken 1 qd. hyzaar in am and meto... in pm. We are talking that within 2 years I will have a valve replacement (when it reaches 5.0 cm). Is there anything I can do to stop the progression?
Avatar m tn He is currently on Tikosyn, Pradaxa for Clot Prevention/Stroke, Hyzaar for his 40-year-history of HPB, Zoloft for anxiety/depression following a job loss in 3/09, Gabapention for sciatica, and Vitamin D and multivitamin. He has started experiencing mental confusion in the past 3-6 months. Is this related to the transient A-Fib or one of the medications he is taking, or is it transient due to his age of 62.
Avatar f tn I just returned from my first appt w/ my new Dr. She says that I should be on lisinopril "to protect my kidneys". I have had diabetes for 35 years and never had a test come back indicating that I am "spilling protiens". My BP is 104/70 A1c is about 7.3.Very good health, no heart problems etc. Is this just a standard/ routine prescription for diabetics now...like aspirin?
Avatar m tn This medication can cause inflammation of the throat and/or airways so it may be the cause of your symptoms. I would speak to your GP and talk about changing to a more commonly used blood pressure medication if possible. Drugs like Ramapril or verapamil are widely used and are ace inhibitors. They work in a different way to the medication you are on and personally I had no symptoms during the year I was on Ramapril.
Avatar m tn I wake up with numb hands alot sometimes up my arms too. Pressure is normal and I am on Crestor at the maximum dose, toprol xl, coumadin, plavix, hyzaar, aciphex, hay fever meds. Also, for the last 6 months my Mean corpusle size has been high. Other tests ok... so my doctor is not real concerned. Anyhow, I am alittle concerned. Do you folks have any ideas at Med whatever this is?
Avatar f tn There are healthy ways to lose weight and that could be discussed in the specific forum but obtaining a nutrionist is best and Weight Watchers good as well but avoid weight loss products. Most are unhealthy or useless. And products with Nutrasweet should be avoided as well as that can worsen depression (as some studies show). Replace all sugared drinks with flavored seltzer water for starters. That worked for me.
Avatar n tn hi there lovely ladies! ok this may seem a bit of a rant, but I am so frustrated! I an 23 and was diagnosed with PCOS 2 years ago, i am on the pill, and was simply told by my doctor, exercise more and eat right (which is a bit suss as you'll see below), i can deal with the dieting, i can deal with the random periods and i can deal with the excess hair (my mums italian so it was kinda on the cards already) but i cannot deal with the weight!
Avatar m tn t have to count calories you eliminate the foods that cause the weight gain, the spikes in insulin which causes the weight gain and amazingly you will lose weight.. you will have more energy and it will become easier to exercise and you gain that energy.. I'm down 60 lbs and am loving eating this way.. it has cured a bunch of health problems and it has helped a bunch of people(including my parents) get to where they want to be with their weight.
Avatar f tn ) oh and my sister is pregnant with her fourth and all her pregnancies she always lost weight and not gained! So jus try ur best and eat when u can, good luck!
Avatar f tn hi beverlyhilsa, actually, most of our problem are just because of our bad habits, no one has forced you to eat junks, sugar or other stuff like that but still, you are eating. okay, now if you have really decided to lost weight just say "yes I can do it" and you are half done. people will share their experiences over this forum and I'll do the same. I use beyond weight management tea for my weight loss and found it really good.
Avatar f tn The most important things for weight loss is to calculate BMI and calorie intake requirement. Diet should be planned with more proteins and fibre, less carbohydrates and fat. On an average 2-3 kilos should be lost in a month. You should right and healthy. Never skip a meal. Also a fitness regime needs to be fixed. I would suggest that you visit a nutritionist and fitness expert for further assistance. Best.
Avatar f tn I found out when I was 5 weeks 2 days had it confirmed at 5 weeks 3 days and seen my dr and had an ultrasound at exactly 6 weeks. I have been super sick and have lost 5.5 lbs. I am overweight, pre pregnancy weight of 215 lbs. Now weighing in at 209.5 lbs. Should I be concerned about the weight loss? Or is it ok since I already am overweight?
1458590 tn?1333403812 (up and down) and I have been walking five miles as well and I have lost some weight, but I want to loose like 40 pounds...Any suggestions???
Avatar f tn 30pm and then light at dinner time and do exercise and drink about 56 oz of water equal to 8 glass of water or more I'll be better for you enjoy and lose weight
Avatar f tn Please don't go crazy about weight loss..and drinking only tea for breakfast is extremely unhealthy! Your body is super hungry after a whole night fast...n then when you give it tea (anything acidic) it feels you're starving and starts storing fat..fat is like cotton, more volume and less weight! so you might see weight loss, but not much inch loss.just have a healthy breakfast,a fruit as snack after about 2 hours, lunch and another snack after 2 hours and keep it light for dinner...
Avatar f tn hi, just wanted to say make sure you are getting enough calories a day. I started only having 700kcal a day, and I became exhausted . I lost a stone in 2 weeks but then I think I got into starvation mode and couldn't lose any more weight. I even gained weight and I hadn't increased my calorie intake. My body was just storing everything as fat. Also it helps to drink a lot of water and eat as much fruit, veg, nuts etc. as you can. They'll make you feel healthier and more energised.
676912 tn?1332812551 Does anyone have any tips for losing baby weight? It's been 19 months since I had Elijah and I've got 30 lbs left. I gained about 40 and only lost 10 after I had him. Most of it I gained in the last two months and I thought it was from water weight because I swelled up so much.
