hyzaar and cancer

I still have days that I cannot function, I feel heavy in my head and chest and just have no energy at all. I have great days and horrible days but lately more horrible days. I just don't feel right. I have also added 5000 Vitamin D and multi-minerals to my daily regimin. I just don't know what else to do. I have been to the ER with low pulse rate and they ran some blood test and did x rays and found no heart problems. Could it just be the medication?

My MD put me on Hyzaar for hypertension. Previously I had been on Cozaar but she changed it to Hyzaar for the added benefit of the diuretic. I noticed my drug company autosubbed generic Losortan. The bottle doesn't say anything about hydrochlorothiazide being included. Could I be getting the wrong thing, or should I assume some form of hydrochlorothiazide is included?

With the loss of 44 pounds, I too ended up with very low blood pressure and went to the doctor about it, he cut me back to 60 mg now and suggested that I take my blood pressure every day and monitor if the 60 mg is low enough or not. I do feel better now on the lower dose, but my blood pressure has been a little erratic but is still in the normal rang now as opposed to being too low.

I have been told that it is hereditary and there is nothing I can do to stop it. I am on metoprolol tartare 25 mg. and hyzaar 100/25, both taken 1 qd. hyzaar in am and meto... in pm. We are talking that within 2 years I will have a valve replacement (when it reaches 5.0 cm). Is there anything I can do to stop the progression?

I just returned from my first appt w/ my new Dr. She says that I should be on lisinopril "to protect my kidneys". I have had diabetes for 35 years and never had a test come back indicating that I am "spilling protiens". My BP is 104/70 A1c is about 7.3.Very good health, no heart problems etc. Is this just a standard/ routine prescription for diabetics now...like aspirin?

Also, I feel very tired most of the day. My weight is 170 pounds, blood pressure is normal (I take Hyzaar) and cholestorel levels within normal range. I have had EKG, Stress Test, and Echo done and all came out OK. The EKG shows early repolarization. I have been experiencing the sympoms often now and I am worried if I have CAD, but my doc seems not be too worried about it. Also, one of my uncles died young because of heart attack. Any suggestions woould help.

Exercise (aerobic) can help the heart increase heart contractions. Does your stress test report indicate hypokinesis (heart muscle impairment)? Is your ejection fraction (EF) between 50 and 70%...that calculation is the amount in percentage of blood pumped out of the left ventricle with each heartbeat? Is your left ventricle enlarged? Those readings would indicate degree of any lost contractility, and whether or not there should be treatment and another cardiologist's analysis.

This medication can cause inflammation of the throat and/or airways so it may be the cause of your symptoms. I would speak to your GP and talk about changing to a more commonly used blood pressure medication if possible. Drugs like Ramapril or verapamil are widely used and are ace inhibitors. They work in a different way to the medication you are on and personally I had no symptoms during the year I was on Ramapril.

I wake up with numb hands alot sometimes up my arms too. Pressure is normal and I am on Crestor at the maximum dose, toprol xl, coumadin, plavix, hyzaar, aciphex, hay fever meds. Also, for the last 6 months my Mean corpusle size has been high. Other tests ok... so my doctor is not real concerned. Anyhow, I am alittle concerned. Do you folks have any ideas at Med whatever this is?

My Dr just took me off of Hyzaar and has put me on 5 mgs of Bystolic per day to control skipped beats and my HBP. Well, the skips are much better but my pressure is still up and my pulse is really low for me -- like in the mid 50's!!! I feel like garbage. I have only been on it for a week. My Dr wants me to stick it out a little longer. So her I am needing take one today for my BP but my pulse is sooooo low. ANyone else on Bystolic? Will this get better?

If 8,000 people took the medication that had the NDEA in it every single day for 4 years, there might be ONE case of cancer in those 8,000 people. But since it can happen, they recalled it. And hey, I'd not want to take a drug that had potential cancer risk associated with it. So, I wouldn't be too worried over all. Talk to your doctor at your next visit.

Check out the Gabapention (I believe it is the generic for Neurotin) and it can cause extreme drowsiness. My husband and my aunt were on it for some time and I saw changes in both their personalities. I, too, forget what I go into another room for and have been doing that for years. I am 66. I have heard dementia described as, not forgetting where you parked your car, but forgetting that you HAVE a car. That said, it wouldn't hurt to get it checked out.

My doctor prescribed the medicine NADOLOL to be taken long with FLECAINIDE nd my blood pressure med. HYZAAR. I am very tired and my heart rate is around 48, 50 bpm. Did anyone else take this medicine NADOLOL, and did it affect your heart rate like mine? This seems to be the only adverse side effect of my ablation, so far.

I am confident that the stomach ( or colon) when bloated give me flutters accompanied by sweating and followed by weakness. I Am slightly overweight male, 61 years of age and am on medication for BP ( Monotildiem + Hyzaar).

HI everyone, For those of you who take Metropolol -- have you ever heard of taking it as needed? I am Hyzaar daily for HBP and when I get a bad bout of skips my Dr tells me to take a 12.5 mg or 25 mgs of metropolol. HE says it should calm it down within 30 minutes. Does anyone else do this?

mom was diagnised with Atrial Fibrillation and was admitted to the hospital for seven days. She is otherwise very healthy and was only on Hyzaar for blood pressure prior. She was told her heart was strong and showed minimal damage, chest Xray proved negative, stress test was passed with exceptional results, but was kept hospitalized until her heart rate stopped spiking. She is now on 5.0 mill.

I have high blood pressure and have been on Cardizem CD 240 and Hyzaar 100/12.5 for about 17 years. I also have mitral valve prolapse. My resting heart rate has always been around 60 even before medication as I was a weightlifter and football player when I was young. Since I'm 64 now and never had the symptoms knowledgeable to me, it was new and concerning. I wasn't really stressed out, just plain sick with a general malaise with the skipped beats felt in my chest and into my throat. I hope the symptoms don't return, but if they do I won't bother reporting it.

Studies have indeed show that high blood glucose may predispose to cancer and cancer cells primarily run on glucose. Views on this are diverse and while further studies may need to be done, it is still up to the patient to take this. Westernized approach of cancer has involved chemotherapy and medications while eastern medicine have been employing dietary approach in management of diseases for a long time. I am afraid of the idea of having penile cancer but am only 18 and the last time I had sex was 3.5 months ago. I have have had a painless red rash around my urethra and part of the head of the penis for almost 2 months. I'm worried because STD tests came back negative so I'm wondering if it is HPV that has manifested it into a cancer?
