hyzaar and alcohol

I still have days that I cannot function, I feel heavy in my head and chest and just have no energy at all. I have great days and horrible days but lately more horrible days. I just don't feel right. I have also added 5000 Vitamin D and multi-minerals to my daily regimin. I just don't know what else to do. I have been to the ER with low pulse rate and they ran some blood test and did x rays and found no heart problems. Could it just be the medication?

My MD put me on Hyzaar for hypertension. Previously I had been on Cozaar but she changed it to Hyzaar for the added benefit of the diuretic. I noticed my drug company autosubbed generic Losortan. The bottle doesn't say anything about hydrochlorothiazide being included. Could I be getting the wrong thing, or should I assume some form of hydrochlorothiazide is included?

With the loss of 44 pounds, I too ended up with very low blood pressure and went to the doctor about it, he cut me back to 60 mg now and suggested that I take my blood pressure every day and monitor if the 60 mg is low enough or not. I do feel better now on the lower dose, but my blood pressure has been a little erratic but is still in the normal rang now as opposed to being too low.

I have been told that it is hereditary and there is nothing I can do to stop it. I am on metoprolol tartare 25 mg. and hyzaar 100/25, both taken 1 qd. hyzaar in am and meto... in pm. We are talking that within 2 years I will have a valve replacement (when it reaches 5.0 cm). Is there anything I can do to stop the progression?

I just returned from my first appt w/ my new Dr. She says that I should be on lisinopril "to protect my kidneys". I have had diabetes for 35 years and never had a test come back indicating that I am "spilling protiens". My BP is 104/70 A1c is about 7.3.Very good health, no heart problems etc. Is this just a standard/ routine prescription for diabetics now...like aspirin?

Also, I feel very tired most of the day. My weight is 170 pounds, blood pressure is normal (I take Hyzaar) and cholestorel levels within normal range. I have had EKG, Stress Test, and Echo done and all came out OK. The EKG shows early repolarization. I have been experiencing the sympoms often now and I am worried if I have CAD, but my doc seems not be too worried about it. Also, one of my uncles died young because of heart attack. Any suggestions woould help.

Exercise (aerobic) can help the heart increase heart contractions. Does your stress test report indicate hypokinesis (heart muscle impairment)? Is your ejection fraction (EF) between 50 and 70%...that calculation is the amount in percentage of blood pumped out of the left ventricle with each heartbeat? Is your left ventricle enlarged? Those readings would indicate degree of any lost contractility, and whether or not there should be treatment and another cardiologist's analysis.

I wake up with numb hands alot sometimes up my arms too. Pressure is normal and I am on Crestor at the maximum dose, toprol xl, coumadin, plavix, hyzaar, aciphex, hay fever meds. My Dr just took me off of Hyzaar and has put me on 5 mgs of Bystolic per day to control skipped beats and my HBP. Well, the skips are much better but my pressure is still up and my pulse is really low for me -- like in the mid 50's!!! I feel like garbage. I have only been on it for a week. My Dr wants me to stick it out a little longer. So her I am needing take one today for my BP but my pulse is sooooo low. ANyone else on Bystolic? Will this get better?

Check out the Gabapention (I believe it is the generic for Neurotin) and it can cause extreme drowsiness. My husband and my aunt were on it for some time and I saw changes in both their personalities. I, too, forget what I go into another room for and have been doing that for years. I am 66. My doctor prescribed the medicine NADOLOL to be taken long with FLECAINIDE nd my blood pressure med. HYZAAR. I am very tired and my heart rate is around 48, 50 bpm. Did anyone else take this medicine NADOLOL, and did it affect your heart rate like mine? This seems to be the only adverse side effect of my ablation, so far.

I wont go into "random" testing. Alcohol is a toxin so your Liver stops all other functions (and there are dozens of them) to detoxify your Blood. Its the liver that removes Met. So detoxing the alcohol can cause the Met to build up in your system. You dont say how much Met you take. m about to ask is not something I partake in on any kind of regular basis, we just think we are back in college and proceed to act and drink like fools. This might seem crazy but it's been going on for about 4 months now. Everytime I drink, whether it be one drink or 5 drinks, I wake up about 1-2 hrs after I go to bed with a racing/pounding heart and I'm real hot and sweaty. It's almost like an anxiety attack. Alcohol has never bothered me before and I was wondering if anyone had a clue about what could be causing this.

I Had problems with alcohol before but for a long time like a year I was able to drinK two three beers and go to sleep and go to my job and I was happy. For the past 3-4 months my drinking of beer reached more than six packs a day and some times with early morning panic attacks, anxiety forcing me drink at 5.00AM then sleep taper it and same cycle next day. I took a prescription xanax small dose not reaching 1mg a day for the past 4 months. Today I am suffering withdrawals from both.
