I had a total thyroidectomy when I was 27 for papillary carcinoma. Oh I also had to have a total hysterectomy (still have ovaries) when I was 32. I was curious, in general, has anyone noticed menopausal symptoms being more severe and earlier onset due to taking synthroid and having a hysterectomy? I have 3 sisters and we are all close in age... 53, 52, 51 and 50. I am the only one who appears to have started meno and I have had very strong symptoms.

I take occasional Xanax and it works great for my occasional anxiety from treatment. I'm not on ADs because they absolutely did not agree with me. I left work early today too. Weakness is setting in for me too. I had my monthly blood test this afternoon so we'll see if it's anemia rearing it's ugly head or not. Good luck getting everything worked out.

My thyroid condition is Hypothyroid as of 2005 after having the Radioactive Iodine treatment, and also had a partial hysterectomy ( i have one ovary) that same year. I was prescribed Levothyroxine112 mcg., Tramadol 50 mg 4 x per day for joint pain, Estradiol for hrc, and Zoloft 50 mg for depression . I went to another dr, when I moved this year, and they doubled my Zoloft to 100 mg per day and added Xanax .

He said it is just menopause and to exercise. I had a hysterectomy 10 years ago due to polps and have cysts on my ovaries now. What else if anything can I do to feel better?

I am 35. 8 years ago I had a hysterectomy with one ovary removal. For the last year I have been experiencing what I think are perimenopausal symptoms. My question is, can having the surgery like mine increase my chances of an earlier menopause? Not having a period for the last 8 years, all I have to go by are symptoms other than a weird or missing period.

I was taking 300-400 mg daily for 2 months for pain post bad hysterectomy a year ago. I just discovered drug dependency a couple of weeks ago when I quit taking the drug for a day due to no pain. Since remaining ovary(ies) can go into temporary shock or completely fail post-hysterectomy, it would make much more sense to try HRT before an anti-depressant, mood stabilizer, xanax, etc.! As far as the UTI, get some d-mannose and maybe cranberry pills to take with the antibiotic and then continue those supplements after finishing the antibiotic until you feel you are no longer susceptible. Before my recent hysterectomy my psychiatrist had me leveled out pretty well with Wellbutrin 300 mg/day and Xanax 1mg as needed. For unbearable constant cramping I finally agreed to the hysterectomy last month. I was not afraid of the surgery, but I was TERRIFIED of messing with my hormones again (as I was NORMAL mentally BEFORE docs messing with them at age 20). t know if I really have a question or just feel like there are people here that understand....I had a total hysterectomy at 32 because of severe endometriosis(all three types). By the time I found a gyn to do the laparoscopy, I looked to be 7 months pregnant and I was a gray color from the blood loss in my abdomen! The surgery took over three hours to remove adhesions etc. I should say that I have 6 biological children and two stepdaughters.

Is it typical for someone to be mean and short-tempered when coming off of Xanax? My husband decided on his own that it was time to give it up (effects have caused us a lot of pain - emotional and financial). He's been tapering off now for a few days and is down to 1 2mg Xanax XR a day. He has changed from pleasant and easy going to miserable and very short-tempered. He snaps at the smallest thing and it's breaking my heart. My kids are feeling the effects too.

I had a Hysterectomy on February 18, 2015 and I have started back excerising (approximately 2 months). I am on a vigourous diet. I exercise daily but the scale is not moving. Would there be a reason for that; could the surgery have affected my ability to lose weight.

I expressed this to my doctor and he was willing to do a total hysterectomy on me, but he wants me to give the Seasonique a go before we proceed. He would do a full hysterectomy on me because of the endo, but my concern is that I simply do not want to age fast. She is wonderful, I coundnt have chose a better person (found her on ****.com) We are able to use my eggs but with you not having your ovaries unfortunately you will have to search out an egg donor. I had total hysterectomy 16 years ago I am now 56. I take monthly infusions of IVIG for low IGG immunoglobulin and very low IGA. I have heart disease, anxiety, depression, fibromyalgia, arthritis, irritable bowel back issues, migraines basically been falling apart since 2007 when diagnosed with sarcoidosis. Which now has healed itself after oncologist ruled out cancer. Wondering if hormones could help?
