897990 tn?1248268956 Why on earth does she seem to think she needs a hysterectomy? I had a prolapsed uterus and gave birth to three healthy boys all a prolapse means is the uterus leans in the backwards position, techincally suposed to make it harder to concieve but not so with many many I know...why does she need a C section..all my babies wher vaginal births, just trying to understand...the C section may be needed for a host of reasons..
Avatar n tn Now that she has learned through an ultrasound that there are multiple fibroids, she said that procedure is not an option as it would basically cut off the blood supply to the uterus if they did that for each fibroid. The only option is a partial hestorectormy to remove my utereus. My ovaries are fine. The only reason I need to go ahead and do something is the fibroids are pushing up against my kidney and causing that to inflame and has caused pain in my lower stomach and my side/back.
Avatar n tn They can remove only the uterus and leave the ovaries, they can remove the ovaries and leave the uterus, or they can leave the uterus and remove only one ovary and tube and leave the other side.
Avatar m tn I was under the impression that if you had a hysterectomy that you did not have your uterus. When I had my hysterectomy done, the dr took the works. I'm talking about everything, the fallopian tubes, ovaries, cervix, uterus. Not that I miss any of them. I don't have periods, which means no pms! WooHoo!
Avatar n tn What was exactly a full hysterectomy for you? Some doctors call a hysterectomy just removal of the uterus. For my full debulking hysterectomy I had my uterus, cervix, both ovaries, both fallopian tubes and full omentum apron and my appendix... Did you have your ovaries removed? If you did you could have remnant ovarie tissue that has cysts.. you need to ask more questions... I hope you find the answers...
Avatar f tn Not that i have heard. a hysterectomy causes early menopause which could give u pregnancy symptoms.
1490116 tn?1304817137 Am a 52 yr old woman no period never had hysterectomy, tubal, however uterus really low. Am cramping a little. Is there a possibility of pregnancy?
Avatar n tn I am 46 years old and had a hystermony almost 22 years ago. I had a ultersound on my uterus, and the only thing that came back was that my lining to the uterus was thickening. She tried to do a biospy but it came back unconclusive. And she made me an appointment with an gyncologist to see if i need a dnc. What do u think it could be? If it was cancerous wouldn't it show up in the biopsy? I am worried?
199177 tn?1490498534 I had my hysterectomy in 2005 at age 33 ,I was lucky enough with fertility work able to have kids before I had to have it removed .There was a whole list of problems adhesion's,endo, cysts, prolapsed uterus ect ect .I had a VH as well as my left ovary removed ,So I still have my right ovary overall I have been GREAT .Except the last few months there has been lots of pain enough to have to stop having sex .I figured it was a cyst and it would go away on its own it hasn't .
Avatar f tn This is a little scary as I have heard of accrtea and what that will mean in terms of hysterectomy etc. but NEVER heard of anyone having the untire uterus covered with placenta. If it continues to grow like it has for the last two weeks, what will happen to the baby? How will they get it out if the placenta is everywhere? Anyone ever had this?
804498 tn?1238100998 No you cannot get pregnant if you had a full hysterectomy. full hysterectomy means that your uterus has been completely removed including your ovaries etc. You cannot bear any more children yourself, you need a uterus to support a pregnancy and you don't have one. If you want to have a child with this man you can adopt or he can learn to love and embrace your children as part of his family.
Avatar f tn Traces from all over were sent for biopsy but the washes came out clean, tubes were clean, right ovary was also healthy ... only the uterus seems infected. How can my cancer travel to the uterus without passing through the tubes? Is it ovarian cancer or uterine? I am scheduled for a hysterectomy next week and my doctor says only the second biopsy would tell. Anyone else who has seen this before? I really want to keep my system - I am 30.
Avatar f tn If you still have your partial ovary, you will still ovulate, but how will the egg get into the uterus if you don't have fallopian tubes? It could float around in the abdominal cavity and get nowhere, if the place where the fallopian tube used to enter the uterus is tied off on both sides. Do you have no fallopian tubes or just one fallopian tube?
Avatar f tn I have heard that a hysterectomy will help the endo. My doctor told me that it was the only thing that would keep it from coming back but that I am too young to have it done. From what I understand is endo is a hormonal thing, so a hysterectomy could help but I guess the only guarantee that you won't have a reoccurance would be if they removed the ovaries as well. My doctor did say that just a hysterectomy does cure it for a lot of women though.
Avatar n tn By "partial hysterectomy" are you saying your uterus is removed but not your ovaries? The definition of menopause is that your periods are gone and have been gone for a year. But if your uterus is removed, you would not have periods. But I think that what you are asking is whether your ovaries will stop functioning and stop making estrogen and whatever else and you will begin to have menopausal symptoms, such as hot flashes and dry skin.
Avatar m tn Why would a doctor during a hysterectomy take out the uterus through the rectum?
Avatar f tn There is no such thing as an artificial uterus implant. There any such thing as an artificial uterus. By complete hysterectomy, I take it you also mean your ovaries are gone. Losing the ovaries and the uterus pretty much takes away IVF with someone else's eggs (because you have no uterus) and IVF from you to surrogate (because you have no ovaries).
Avatar m tn I have Adenomyosis, its when the lining of the uterus grows into the muscle of the uterus, the doctor decribes it as like a uturus inside a uterus, or a hot piece of coal irritaing my uterus! I bleed heavily and am in constant pain! I have to have abdominal surgery as my uterus is to enlarged to take it away by any other means.
274158 tn?1276347187 Having only your uterus removed will NOT cause your ovaries to stop functioning. As long as your ovaries are working, you will not have menopausal symptoms. You may want to discuss with your doctor the advisability of a supracervical hysterectomy [where the cervix is not removed]. Personally, I see no advantage in this, as it leaves in place a useless organ that can become cancerous.
