Avatar f tn what are my chances that this is not cancer?i think they are going to do hysterectomy on me. if i have cancer, do you think the laparscopy biopsys will make this advance worse?
Avatar n tn i have a cyst on both ovaries and one is about 2cm and has contrast and lesions. also my uterus is trying to grow through the uterus wall. My lower back hurts all the time and my side hurts and now my leg hurts really bad. The Doctor said he doesnt think it is cancer but i am scared because i have all the symptoms. I also had breast cancer two years ago. just want to know if anyone has these symptoms and if it turned out to be nothing or cancer.
Avatar n tn ve now been diagnosed with thick lining of my uterus, bleeding for over a month, almost 2, with light bleeding, not heavy, no clots. Bloated tummy, abdominal discomfort (not like heavy cramps). I am awaiting hear back on a referral to a Gynecologist, from what I was told by the referral coordinator could take 3-6 months to get into. I am 41 yrs of age. Any ideas as to what this recent diagnosis could mean? What can you tell me about testing my hormone levels?
Avatar f tn In your shoes (and this really is just my thoughts, not any kind of strong recommendation) I would go ahead and take the uterus if the ovaries are going. If the issue were reversed, I would resist losing the ovaries just because the uterus had to go, but that is because the ovaries are producing hormones (in my belief, even a little hormone trail after menopause). But if my ovaries were going, I wouldn't care much about keeping the uterus.
Avatar n tn Depends on the reason for a hysterectomy. The ovaries are usually left because it delays menopause but if cancer is involved then ovaries will also be removed.
Avatar f tn Traces from all over were sent for biopsy but the washes came out clean, tubes were clean, right ovary was also healthy ... only the uterus seems infected. How can my cancer travel to the uterus without passing through the tubes? Is it ovarian cancer or uterine? I am scheduled for a hysterectomy next week and my doctor says only the second biopsy would tell. Anyone else who has seen this before? I really want to keep my system - I am 30.
Avatar n tn Hi There, Cancer of the uterus is treated by removing the uterus, cervix, tubes and ovaries. The standard of care is to also remove lymph nodes in the pelvic and aortic region. The information from both removing the pelvic organs (uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes) and checking lymph nodes allows us to know what stage of cancer she has.
Avatar f tn ve been diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer (papillary) at 38. Could there be a connection between the Hysterectomy and Thyroid Cancer? No major problems before hysterectomy.
897990 tn?1248268956 Why on earth does she seem to think she needs a hysterectomy? I had a prolapsed uterus and gave birth to three healthy boys all a prolapse means is the uterus leans in the backwards position, techincally suposed to make it harder to concieve but not so with many many I know...why does she need a C section..all my babies wher vaginal births, just trying to understand...the C section may be needed for a host of reasons..
Avatar f tn a hysterectomy should be if your 100% sure you have cancer, even then u might not need a hysterectomy. this definately isnt right cause im 100% sure you can find out if you have cancer from a biopsy.
Avatar m tn Hi to all! In April of this year, pelvic pain sent me to my GYN who subsequently ordered an ultrasound. Pain caused by a complex cyst on right ovary. Waited for six weeks before repeating ultrasound to see if there were any changes-only change was less fluid, more solid so I was referred to a GYN/ONC who is recommending removal of both ovaries, primarily due to breast cancer history with estrogen receptors. Uterus and tubes also recommended for removal.
Avatar f tn Surgeon sugested the total hysterectomy with uterus, left ovary and tube, lymphnodes and abdominal fat removal. Very emotional. can somebody gime me advise what to do?
Avatar n tn Is it possible to have ovarion cancer if i have had a partial hysterectomy I have all of the signs

Avatar f tn Can a women still get cervical cancer after having a hysterectomy? I may have to have a hysterectomy and have been told that I would never get cervical cancer if I did have the surgery?
Avatar n tn which is wiser, more chemo or hysterectomy following breast cancer surgery....? a cyst was found during a ultrasound on the uterus This discussion is related to hysterectomy/mastectomy at once?.
Avatar f tn My doctor tried to do a hysteroscopy and D&C on me (in hospital, general anesthesia) and said cervix is completely scarred shut. 3 weeks until my follow up. We still don't know what is the "area of concern" in my uterus. She mentioned we'll talk hysterectomy next. I'm 46. Do I have options? Trans vag US showed this area, unsuccessful Saline Ultrasound - the wall is up apparently. I do not want to play roulette. If doc thinks it is cancer, I want it out.
Avatar f tn I had stage 4 endo at age 33 and the doctor said I needed a full hysterectomy which removed ovaries, uterus and cervix. The doc said it was so bad that if I don't have the surgery when I menstruate I would cough blood if it moved to my lungs. I had the surgery and have been on the estradial patch for at least 5 years. I am on .1 and .5 patch every 4 days. I am now 40 and just went to a new doc and she was shocked I was on such a high dose.
Avatar m tn I was referring to the pathology reports from the colposcopy (removal of cervical tissue) prior to your hysterectomy and the one from the removal of your uterus and cervix (hysterectomy).
Avatar m tn Hi, I'm sorry, but you raised a few questions in my mind. You said that through an ultrasound your doctor found cysts on both ovaries, and you're bleeding post menopause. You also mentioned that you had a CT scan, what did that show? Is your doctor a general surgeon,or a GYN, and why wouldn't he refer you to a GYN/ONC Surgeon, rather than possibly consult with one?
Avatar n tn A hysterectomy means removal of the uterus. The ovaries are often not removed. Oopherectomy (sp?) means the ovaries were removed. Find out if you still have them. It is possible to get ovca following a hysterectomy. Please see your doc for a workup. I wish you the best.
2074741 tn?1331880740 A full hysterectomy includes ovaries. If they are removed you will likely have to have hormonal treatment and may go into early menopause. I do think it's prudent to get your uterus removed, especially if you have no desire to try for children later on and the risk of having them grow back is high. This is only a partial hysterectomy though. As far as if you should get a full one- I have heard there is some connection between ovarian cancer and uterine cancer.
Avatar f tn He says that because of my age I do not need my uterus and for cancer prevention I should have it removed as well as my ovaries. My husband and I have an amazing sex life and I do not want the jeopordized because of the removal of my ovaries. That really scares me. There is no cervical, uterine or ovarian cancer in my family, although my father died of colon cancer. I do not want a hysterectomy, but if it is necessary I really do want to keep my ovaries!!! What do you recomment?
Avatar n tn After having a vaginal hysterectomy, my Mom (mid 60's) went back to her obgyn for her hysterectomy follow up and was told she had Stage 2 cancer. Here is exactly what the Dr. said: "invasive adenocarcinoma. Invasion into outer half of muscle of uterus. No extension to outside of uterus. Stage 2". He wrote this down for my mom. How does this all sound to you?
Avatar f tn I have had 4 surgeries for endometriosis. I have never herd of all those problems. None of my family ir family friends have had problems. I'm considering getting rid of my uterus mainly because I have a very high chance of uterine cancer my right ovary because I have had so many cysts on my right ovary that its not working properly anymore and even a two cm cyst cause me a lot of pain.

Avatar f tn I had a hysterectomy for Endometrial Cancer (Grade 1 Well Differentiated). Ovaries, Tubes, Cervix, Uterus (4mm into 9mm 2nd layer) and Lymph nodes were clear, but Peritoneal Wash came back with malignant cells... What is standard course for treatment now? Will see gyn/onc at the end of the month... Just wondering. Thought this would end with hysterectomy.
