hysterectomy

1740983 tn?1312873366 Ok my doctor is saying that I will need to have a hysterectomy because I have a fyfriod inside my uterus and one on the lining of my uterus. I seem to be having some leakage coming down and spotting. This seems to happen when I have sex and it is really bothering me. I have to wear a pad pretty much everyday. I want to know is this hysterectomy really what I need to have. And the leaking and spotting is this from the fyriods?
Avatar f tn There are different types and they have to be custom fitted. But this would be preferable to a hysterectomy that causes a whole new set of problems plus is major surgery with risks for surgical complications (on top of the nasty after effects). This article is helpful in understanding the after effects of hysterectomy. Here's one article about pessaries; there are some other good ones out there - https://familydoctor.org/vaginal-pessary/. Best of luck and please post back as to progress.
Avatar n tn Hello, Virtually all cervical cancers are caused by HPV infections, with just two HPV types, 16 and 18, responsible for about 70 percent of all cases. HPV also causes anal cancer, with about 85 percent of all cases caused by HPV-16. HPV types 16 and 18 have also been found to cause close to half of vaginal, vulvar, and penile cancers. Other than that, HPV infections have been found to cause cancer of the oropharynx.
Avatar f tn my hysterectomy was in 2007. I have only had these recent symptoms for the last 2-3 years. I don't know where I am in menopause but one of the follicle tests showed that my levels were in the 60's when they were only supposed to be around 15. I can't take meds because it effects my burning mouth syndrome. My Hot flashes are insane.

905378 tn?1244854365 I have a recto vaginal fistula, which is an unnatural tunnel from the rectum to the vagina. It causes bleeding and emits infection. I used to have low grade fevers and just feel crappy, but now I'm on antibiotics and it has helped some. There are different types, even closed fistulas.
Avatar f tn Are there types of HPV that don't affect your genitals? I had a Papilloma removed from my tonsil and am worried about spreading it to my genitals, or to my boyfriend, neither of us have any signs of HPV other than the papilloma in my throat.
Avatar f tn For months I was having tests done and trying many different types of medications. They wont do a hysterectomy on you. Youre too young. And no, once you get a hysterectomy, you dont have any more periods. They take everything out (uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes) for a complete hysterectomy making it impossible for you to have children. Your doctor can give you medication for nausea (metoclopramide works wonders) and may do a D&C. Best of luck!
Avatar n tn Had a hysterectomy 7yrs ago. did not remove ovaries or fallopian tubes. Starting to have lots of pelvic pain again. Will I have to have them removed eventually?
Avatar f tn My gynecologist has diagnosed a cystocele with mild prolapse of the rectum and uterus. She recommends a hysterectomy and repair. I do not want to have a hysterectomy if I can avoid it. She says if she doesn't do it then it is right behind the bladder so might cause problems later. I have done a lot of research but want to know any and all the questions I should ask before having surgery. I also want to know if a urogynecologist might be better than a gynecologist.
Avatar f tn Post Menopausal age 54. Have only ovaries hysterectomy. Ferritin slightly elevated after discontinued use. Hair grew. h Two types of Alopecia Aerata, nonscarring, Androgenetic and Non Androgenetic. Diagnosed scalp, punch hole biopsies.
Avatar f tn I am 36 YO. I am 2 years post hysterectomy. Since having my hysterectomy I have recurrent yeast infections (which has been verified via gyno) Before my hysterectomy I had 2 yeast infections my whole life. From what I've read it seems to be a common issue among women who've had a hysterectomy. I guess I'm curious as to what the causes could be. I had read that the ovaries stop functioning properly more quickly after a hysterectomy and he said no.
Avatar f tn This altered anatomy causes back, hip, and rib cage pain over time as well as the post-hysterectomy belly and loss of the curve in the lower back.
Avatar n tn I am trying to find out the benefits or the risks of also having the hysterectomy. I know the recoup time may be longer - but are there other reasons not to have the hysterectomy also?
Avatar n tn diagnosed with LMP tumor 2 years ago stage ll, had one ovary and fallopian removed and partial ovary on other side and showed a small growth on uterus. Wanted to preserve fertility but now another large growth on piece of ovary that is left gyn says looks like another tumor yet CA-125 is not elevated this time. First I thought these things were slow growers, next if the same type of tumor why is the CA-125 not elevated.

1389816 tn?1279850499 I had a complete hysterectomy about 5 1/2 years ago, so know that there can be none of those types of issues. I have really not had any intestinal types of issues; such as stomach cramps, diarrhea, vomiting, etc. I have had some nausea, in addition to the symptoms that I mentioned before. Like I said, I am just super exhausted, having these fevers, the shortness of breath & profuse sweating with that shortness of breath (which only happens when I am being active...
Avatar f tn I agree that this doesn't sound right. Something that commonly causes this type of bleeding is polyps. That's good you are being evaluated because the obvious fear is the c word -- cancer and you want to make sure to rule that out. Your uterine lining could also be very thin due to hormonal issues and this could also lead to bleeding like this. https://www.webmd.com/menopause/guide/postmenopausal-bleeding#1. When do you go for your biopsy results? I'm sure you are scared.
Avatar f tn I had a hysterectomy a year ago and the iloinguinal nerve was damaged. I take Gaberpentin and Nortriptyline and morphine every day. I am in constant pain and can't walk very far, stand or sit at the comuter very long. Nerve blocks ony help for about 48 hrs. No one will do anything for me. I keep being told that surgery to explore the wound is not an option. I don't understand why I have been abandoned by the medical profession. Can anyone help.
656485 tn?1226592447 I also had a borderline tumor and I had a hysterectomy and oopherectomy( removal of my ovaries). My doctors recommeded that I have a ct scan, CEA test and ca-125 test every three months for the 1st year and then every four months for the next year. I went to MD Anderson for a second opinion and they agreed with my doctor. I would highly recommend you double check with a gynological oncologist about any follow up...especially since you have had breast cancer.
Avatar f tn Thanks alot for that information I really appreciate it!!!

Avatar f tn What can be the causes of vaginal bleeding in someone who had a hysterectomy with removal of 1 ovary 15 years ago?
Avatar m tn luckily they caught it in time, because I found a dr who finally listened to me, but I needed a hysterectomy to get rid of it. he says now I have adenocarcinoma insitu because I don't have a cervix or a uterus, but it could come back and attack the walls of my vagina or my ovaries. Could this happen? Am I not in the clear?
