Common Questions and Answers about Hysterectomy techniques

hysterectomy

Avatar f tn With the exception of surrogacy no. Any fertilized egg would develop into a ectopic pregnancy and wouldn't survive.
Avatar n tn I did not develop Lymphodema after my cancer treatment but because I was having radiation to the bowel, I was seeing a physio for prevention techniques to stop it happening and if it did happen how to manage it. (I had my pelvic lymph nodes removed during my hysterectomy). If you see your doctor and get him to refer you to a physiotherapist that is experienced in lymphatic drainage massage they will be able to show you and treat you with massage that you can actually do at home.
Avatar f tn s shocking that no doctor connected these symptoms with your hysterectomy. Hysterectomy has been shown to impair ovarian function. That impairment can be complete (as if the ovaries were removed) or partial. A woman with all her parts and in natural menopause has been shown via studies to have higher levels of hormones than women who have had hysterectomies, even those whose ovaries were not removed. I was a complete basket case after my uterus and ovaries were removed 12 years ago.
Avatar m tn 62 yo. hysterectomy 40 years ago. uncontrollable urge to urinate, sometimes no output. can go or feel the need over 30 times a day. no UTI. Saw a urologist yesterday. organs in the right place. Stretched my urethra...ugh. no better. said I had a stenosis and atrophy of the urethra. Gave me a script for Vesicare but told me to wait a few days to see how procedure goes. also mentioned estrogen Creme. I am miserable....what should I do?
Avatar f tn Providing there is nothing wrong with your uterus and ovaries, a hysterectomy is not necessary for Pelvic Organ Prolapse in many instances. I would suggest you see a board certified Urogynecologyist if you are considering surgery for Pelvic Organ Prolapse and get a second opinion. J.
Avatar f tn The CAT scan and MRI were ordered because of more recent issues. After having a hysterectomy just over a month ago, I started having extreme dizziness that brought on horrible headaches. Since talking to a friend of mine, she explained that after her hysterectomy last year she had the exact same symptoms and was even vomiting and fainting. It took her about 5 months for the symptoms to start subsiding. Another friend who has also had a recent hysterectomy is also experiencing the same thing.
Avatar f tn My initial appt went really good. It took about 1 1/2 hrs for him to examine me and demonstrate some things. He said I have hypertonia & weakness in both legs and weakness in my right arm. Some of my leg strengths was only 2.5 on the strength scale. He asked if I used any walking aids, and I told him - not yet (thank goodness). I never noticed this, but he said whenever I stand, I lock my knees into place.
Avatar f tn Mines was natural and it was horrible, but I felt better way more quickly, then I did when I had an epidural with my other 2 children
Avatar f tn Do breathing techniques for labor actually help and work? I feel soo stupid practicing them lol. I just dont wanna keep practicing them if they dont really work all to well.
Avatar f tn Hi I'm just wondering what the best breathing/relaxation techniques are for calming oneself down when anxiety reaches high level. I'm fed up up have anxiety attacks and taking it out on my poor fiance by yelling at him. I want to control my feelings and not allow them to get me so worked up so any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar m tn Does anybody have any relaxation techniques. I suffer from benign pvc's and anxiety to accompany it. Just some days i would like to learn how to relax and get through my pvc episodes.
Avatar m tn What are some coping techniques I can employ? I sometimes want to die because of this stuff and already have a serious mental illness I'm having to deal with alongside the PTSD and I'm supposed to be receiving therapy for this but I don't know when I will and need to know some things I can do to cope better until then.
Avatar f tn I wanted a natural birth too and I read up and educated myself a lot about different techniques but one that stuck with me and made the most sense was the Bradley Method. It worked for me and I have VERY low pain tolerance! My being stubborn helped me along too I think! Good luck!!
Avatar n tn I am 49 years old, have a fibroid tumor that has to come out, my doctor says he can remove just the tumor, or he can do a hysterectomy...which ever I want. I don't know what I want, or need. I'm afraid if he just takes the tumor that I'll have to have the hysterectomy in a year or two. Either way he says i will get the bikini cut, I worry though, I heard there may be problems if there is scar tissue....and I have had 2 c sections.
Avatar n tn I have a solid adnexal mass(3.5cm) and will be going for a hysterectomy soon (need to schedule a date). I have symptoms of bloating, pelvic pain, back pain, terrible menstrual cycles, and additional sharp pain on my left side. I also have endometriosis and a uterine fibroid so it's hard to decipher my symptoms. Anyway, I do not live in an area that has an GYN/ONC. The closest one is about an hour away.
Avatar n tn On November 16, 2005 I had a total abdominal hysterectomy and it resulted in me having Ilioinguinal neuralgia. This has caused me to have a horrible throbbing/pulsating pain in the left side of my pelvis from my mons pubis to the top of my Iliac Crest. The pain clinic has tried multiple trigger point injections, steroid injections, nerve blocks, pulsed radio frequency nerve ablations, etc. I went to physical therapy for almost two years, etc. Nothing has helped stop this AWFUL pain!
Avatar f tn Was wondering what different natural labour techniques everyone is trying .. im looking into water births... relaxation music. .. can anyone give me other suggestions?
293845 tn?1227997530 I took one class and found out the hard way that the techniques used, cause you to hyperventilate... So instead of panting, I just took deep breaths in.. and blew them out slowly when Iwas having Cobra.. Paid off.. He was 9lbs 8oz...
395769 tn?1318449682 Also (sorry this is getting kind of long) if you did have a chance to take child birth classes, but are still interested (the breathing does help most women) then you can try checking out a video about natural child birth and breathing techniques from your local library or usually the hospital has ones that they will lend out to pregnant moms. Good luck and you can do it!
Avatar f tn I was hoping some people on here had some natural techniques to help me fall asleep. Are there any?
Avatar n tn I have developed several of my own coping techniques, treating painfull areas like i would treat an injury as well as managing the condition as a whole. It has thoroughly effected my life, socially, as a family member, at work, but i have learned to accept the changes. i would love to hear what other sufferers are doing in the hope i can find alternative possitive coping measures, but also to hear from others so i do not feel so alone.
