922475 tn?1243962297 m wanting more info on the robotic surgery. I have researched it... all it says is recovery is much easier and quicker. How quick? Like my dr says I can go back to work in a week??? Has anyone had this done? If so.. how did it you recover?
1053613 tn?1255987994 I did see the surgery on youtube....look for da vinci robotic hysterectomy. Very high tech. Im worried after reading some of the posts. There are so many complications that can arise after surgery. Hoping the robotic assisted will eliminate some complications. Love to hear from ya all.
Avatar f tn The DaVinci Robot adds a helpful tool for complex surgery such as radical cancer surgery (radical hysterectomy) or surgery on people who may be challenging because of their size (very over weight).
Avatar f tn I am 2 weeks post op....hysterectomy...I am experiencing severe left sided low back pain... Could this be related to the surgery?
Avatar f tn The robots are extremely expensive for hospitals to purchase as well as maintain so they need to do many surgeries (hysterectomy being the top robotic surgery) to recoup those costs. And news reports have shown that many surgeons are not adequately trained in its use. But more important are the LIFELONG functions of the uterus, the uterine ligaments, and the ovaries. The severe hormonal / endocrine fall-out alone can be horrific and is documented in many medical studies.
Avatar f tn My lap procedure was not successful and the doctor wants me to do another major surgery. However i have to wait for 90 day to do this surgery since there is some insurance rule for global 90 day waiting period for same diagnosis. I am new to United States and not aware of such rules .. Please advise if anyone is aware of such rules.
Avatar n tn I am scheduled to have a hysterectomy next week, 4 weeks after my first surgery. i have the option of having a robotic assisted surgery using the davinci system or i can opt for the standard procedure. I am told there are many benefits of the robotic system to include decreased recovery time, decreased blood loss and better vision during the procedure. In the end i just want to be well.
Avatar n tn Hi: Just reading you notes above on the hysterectomy surgery, I'm scheduled on the first of April to have a total hysterectomy, My Dr.
Avatar f tn I would be less likely to delay removal of the ovarian cyst. I am certified in robotic surgery. Pending the size of your uterus you may be an excellent robotic case. If successfull this would significantly reduce your recovery time, blood loss, and pain related to surgery. Thank you, Erich T.
Avatar f tn I had hysterectomy and rectocele surgery done on Friday 2/13/15.. I'm not superstitious so the date don't matter...haha! But I did have a lot of scar tissue from having my cervix removed in 1993 from cancer and had a lot of scar tissue from endometriosis, and from several lapriscopes so my surgery took longer. The sent me home that night with a script of oxycodone/as a 4.835/325mg. This only my 3rd day I understand.
Avatar m tn A non-surgical option which avoids all the risks of prolapse surgery or hysterectomy (these are major surgeries) would be to get fitted for a pessary which would hold up your uterus and bladder.
Avatar f tn I am 2 years post hysterectomy robotic. Went back into the hospital 7 days after due to a pelvic abcsess. I was in the hospital for 7 days and on home health for 10. I have never been the same since. My stomach is huge, my lower parts feel weird. I have tremendous lower back and hip pain to the point I cannot move when I get out of bed. It is ruining my quality of life. I try to exercise a stretch pain is tremendous. Is this a result of my surgery it all happened after that. Any suggestions?
804966 tn?1261895278 Most of the women are a bit frighted prior to surgery thats so understandable. It is a big surgery. Are you having your ovaries removed also? If there is any possibility if retaining at least one ovary Id advise that. I have my total "Hysterectomy Story" written as a journal page on my home page just click on my icon and it will lead you there if you would like to read you are welcome too.
Avatar m tn typing error should read 'robotic"
Avatar f tn please read up on just do a on-line search) a procedure called the DaVinci Robotic hysterectomy its the very best method out there..less bleeding, scaring, easier for both Dr and patient. I had this method and I have just four very small as in 1/4 inch scars on abdomen..yes it is a serious surgery. However in many cases and it sounds like in your case once done and past the 6 week healing it is soooooo very nice to be pain free.
Avatar n tn Hello,I had robotic hestoracmy surgery on 2/26/18. A few days later I developed a bad rash under both my breast,I applied cortisone cream 2 to 3 times daily,2 weeks later a rash broke out on the outer side of my arms, no itching,no pain. The rash is from my shoulder down to my wrist. When I went for my 2 week check up, doctor said it could have been a reaction from the cleaning solution before surgery. It's been over 2 weeks and it's still on my arms! Just strange.
Avatar f tn I had fibroids myself and had a Hyster. Your complaints are very typical for fibroids. Normally, a bikini line incision and robotic surgery are being done nowadays for this, but in your case you are dealing with alot of fibroids and one is the size of a grapefruit and that might be the reason for the possibility for the verticle incision.
Avatar f tn I have low sex drive ( im divorced so dont care right now) but do know I have helped thousands and there is not one side effect that cannot be helped Please read on the DaVinci Robotic hysterectomy method . if dr wont do that ask for a laproscopic hysterectomy..its sooooo much better than pelvic cut.
1472677 tn?1330175915 Try this routine for some days and see. Robotic surgery is unlikely to be the cause. Though yes, any surgery in abdomen and pelvis can cause adhesions and gut symptoms. Please consult your PCP for primary examination followed by proper referral. Take care!
Avatar f tn I am scheduled for Sept 29th robotic(possible incision and open) total hysterectomy and possible staging/debulking at a regional medical center. I am interested in the experience of others or any doctors' ideas.
Avatar f tn My obg/onc will be doing the robotic surgery laparscopically (sp?). In any event, is this a better way to go? Does anyone have any comments on this? I trust him but the more information, the better my questions to him. Thanks and good luck to all of you.
Avatar m tn I had a sacrocolpopexy and a complete hysterectomy and it was with the davinci robotic surgical technique. Abdominal. It has now been almost 10 weeks. I have been in touch with my gastroenterologist (I have one because I have celiac) to see if he could help with the bowels. I did have constipation before the surgery and some gas and bloating but after the surgery it has been very painful. I am controlling the constipation with magnesuim at bed time.
