1053613 tn?1255987994 I did see the surgery on youtube....look for da vinci robotic hysterectomy. Very high tech. Im worried after reading some of the posts. There are so many complications that can arise after surgery. Hoping the robotic assisted will eliminate some complications. Love to hear from ya all.
Avatar f tn what are the side effects if any and do you feel that is a safe way to deal with my medical problem? Originally before I had my hysterectomy I had asked my GYN about robotic surgery for my hysterectomy and he stated that he would never suggest it being done that way, he didn't believe in it and now over a year later he is suggesting it ? Can you give me some statistics on this type of surgery? I have asked you questions before and I am confident that you will give me good advice.
Avatar f tn I am 2 weeks post op....hysterectomy...I am experiencing severe left sided low back pain... Could this be related to the surgery?
Avatar f tn ( She said it would take 20 minutes for results.) I am scheduled for my hysterectomy July 9th, for a robotic assisted total hysterectomy. They are taking both ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus and cervix. I have a family history of cervical cancer and tumors. I have not seen many conversations about this type of surgery or tumor related and would love to know how recovery went for everyone. I am very nervous about finding out if it is cancer or not.
Avatar f tn I am scheduled for Sept 29th robotic(possible incision and open) total hysterectomy and possible staging/debulking at a regional medical center. I am interested in the experience of others or any doctors' ideas.
Avatar f tn For the past 3 years I have been on birth contol to ease the pain, it ended up much worse. I had a complete hysterectomy (robotic) on 5-13-11. The pathology report showed the right ovary almost twice as large as the left, both with many cysts and my uterus was full of fibroids, and endo all over. The constant pain I've had for 3 years is gone. I feel Free!! I have 4 fairly small incisions which are healing quickly.
Avatar n tn Has anyone had the DiVinci machine for a hysterectomy? How long was recovery? How did it go?
Avatar n tn I have endermetrial cancer and currently being scheduled for a complete hysterectomy. My doctor would like to do the surgery robotically. MY only concern is that he has only performed 2 robotic surgeries before. I am concerned about him not having enough experience with the robotics. What are your thoughts on this? DO I have a vital concern?
Avatar m tn I have diabetes and blood pressure also and I have read that removal of ovaries results in oestoporosis later on. I worry that I may not have much strength after hysterectomy. Please if someone has gone through a similar case let me know what deicision to take. I don't know if I should take a second opinion to reconsider ovaries bring removed or to listen to the doctors advice.
Avatar f tn As well, I would love to hear from those who have had a full hysterectomy using this device, as the doc mentioned removal of my uterus and my second ovary as possibilities. Thanks to all!
Avatar f tn I have a partial Hysterectomy since I was 33..and I was wondering if there might be some new medical technology for women who want to get pregnant..
Avatar f tn I would strongly recommend that you do this and would gladly help you find the one closest to you if you let me know where you are located (city/state) If your Dr. says a hysterectomy and ovaries removed will cure you run in the other direction...it doesn't...I have deeply infiltrated endometriosis even though I have no female organs and because of them taking my female organs I now deal with pelvic organ prolapse issues...
804966 tn?1261895278 I would like to know if any of you suffer from clots and had a hysterectomy? I am not going to be able to take hormones. If you have had a vaginal hysterectomy I woulod like to know how you are doing and if you ahve any side effects and what you may be feeling? Please I would like as much info as I can get before my surgery on May 12th. Thank you!!
Avatar f tn I had a spindle cell mass removed robotically near uterus in 2011 and had a hysterectomy as well. The tumor was sent to John Hopkins and came back as spindle cell neoplasm. No treatment was recommended. 1 year ago I had a diverticulitis attack and when I had a CT scan in hospital, they told me I had a mass in my right pelvis. 3 Dr's that I've seen feel that this is exactly the same I had in the past.
Avatar n tn I had a laparoscopic hysterectomy 3 days ago and have noticed a rash near the incisions...not directly on the incisions. Also, there is a similar rash under my breasts and along my c-section scar (from 25 years ago). I used to have severe problems with hives many years ago, but have not had the problem lately. I'm hoping this is not a return of same....or something more problematic. Please advise. So far, there is no itching, but it's very red.
Avatar f tn please read up on just do a on-line search) a procedure called the DaVinci Robotic hysterectomy its the very best method out there..less bleeding, scaring, easier for both Dr and patient. I had this method and I have just four very small as in 1/4 inch scars on abdomen..yes it is a serious surgery. However in many cases and it sounds like in your case once done and past the 6 week healing it is soooooo very nice to be pain free.
Avatar n tn When I had my hysterectomy, my gynecologist took the works out. I'm talking the ovaries (well one, I had the other one removed last Dec.), uterus, cervix, and fallopian tubes. The procedure he used was called lavh, laparoscopic assisted vaginal hysterectomy. I feel a lot better for it though. For me, I have a family history cervical and uterine cancer, which why the gynecologist took out everything. From what I understand though, there are other cancers us women can get.
Avatar f tn I had fibroids myself and had a Hyster. Your complaints are very typical for fibroids. Normally, a bikini line incision and robotic surgery are being done nowadays for this, but in your case you are dealing with alot of fibroids and one is the size of a grapefruit and that might be the reason for the possibility for the verticle incision.
Avatar f tn I am 2 years post hysterectomy robotic. Went back into the hospital 7 days after due to a pelvic abcsess. I was in the hospital for 7 days and on home health for 10. I have never been the same since. My stomach is huge, my lower parts feel weird. I have tremendous lower back and hip pain to the point I cannot move when I get out of bed. It is ruining my quality of life. I try to exercise a stretch pain is tremendous. Is this a result of my surgery it all happened after that. Any suggestions?
368844 tn?1262319347 I have a surgeon who want to do a minimally invasive robotic hysterectomy and removal of one ovary. My worry is that the technology has only been at the hospital since July, so no one around here has tons of experience. I don't want to be a lab rat. How different is it from laparascopic, is it worth it if I am really worried about this? I asked how many my doctor had done and the scheduler said "Oh he's done a lot of them, at least 10!" 10??!!
1510783 tn?1290096307 Hi - I hope all goes well for your op. I'm not yet scheduled for a hysterectomy, although in a strange way I wish I was because I feel that's where I'll end up anyway and would like to get on with my life the meantime.
1472677 tn?1330175915 When I get up to go to the bathroom at 7 in the morning my stomache does not hurt at all. Now I was thnking it was the drugs but bow I am not sure. I had a hysterectomy about two years ago. It was done by the Robotic way. After I had the hyterectomy my stomache was really bad, even had to go to the emergency room twice in one week. I went through almost every test there is to take and nothing. All they say IBS.
Avatar f tn I am scheduled to have a robotic hysterectomy and fistula repair on Monday 6/28/2010. It is being done by Ascher-Walsh and Vardy @ Mt Sinai in NYC. What will the recovery be like? In terms of physical restrictions: steps, lifting going back to work etc? Thanks.
