Hysterectomy recovery spotting

Common Questions and Answers about Hysterectomy recovery spotting

hysterectomy

Avatar n tn My doctor suggested that I have the rectocele surgery repair. I'm hesitating because I've heard horror stories about the recovery and pain afterwards (from other posting sites and my Mom as well who had the surgery 15 years ago). I've been navigating this site and it seems like people here are not spreading fear. Just how bad was the surgery and post op? Thanks.
Avatar n tn What would make me bleed after hysterectomy 9 years later I have my left ovarie only its only when having sex?
Avatar n tn It takes several weeks for your body to heal after a hysterectomy so it's best to follow the Drs orders. Take things slow and get plenty of rest.
553516 tn?1255867219 but I have spotting a lot . It has not got a patern it happens any time. Sometimes it is a brown disgharge others times a bloody one. My gyno says it could be a cyst. this or it could be something more serious. Can I ask for everything to taken away I am just fed up of the pain which on the pain scale is about 6 to7 most day.
Avatar f tn Has any one experience spotting after there hysterectomy ? I had a hysterectomy two years ago. During this time never experienced any spotting or slight bleeding. After two years am experiencing spotting every month I would say at the end of a cycle , experiencing abdominal pain and nausea.
Avatar f tn Tiredness was my worst symptom!! But you defintely need to take it easy..unfortunately I had 3 surgeries 2 with the hysterectomy and 1 a week later but my incision took 8-10 weeks to heal...the norm is 4-6 but I know the insides need to heal alot longer..just when you feel good and do too much than you realize your quite not there yet..so please take this time to recover rather than end up doing something that can cause more damage..the Doctor will give you the clearance to exercise again..
Avatar f tn Have you had a TVUS done that would show endometriosis? Having a hysterectomy done is major surgery and a longer period of recovery is needed. Plus you go into menopause, and that is challenging too. How old are you? You should also talk with you surgeon before if you have any questions, I went to see my Surgeon and he answered everything. Hope this helps. Good Luck.
Avatar f tn Removing ovaries is not a hysterectomy...it's an oophortectomy. Hysterectomy is removal of the uterus. I'm not sure exactly what your doctor is recommending, what tests were performed, or what the surgery recommendation is based upon. Ovaries can be removed laparoscopically by small incisions or by open incision (laparotomy).
Avatar m tn You could be. Your doctor can give you a test to see for sure though. At 45 yrs. old I had excessive bleeding. My period would last approx. 13 days. Since I didn't want to have anymore children I opted to have the DaVinci Hysterectomy. It was the best thing I ever did. I still have both ovaries and have yet to go through menopause. It is sooooo great not having a period anymore. I feel great now. If you want, you can read my story just google Sheree's story on DaVinci Hysterectomy.
Avatar f tn Diagnosed 12/11 B/C ER/PR + Stage 1 Lumpectomy followed by 4 months of Chemo (which put me in menopause at 46yrs old) and 32 Rads, started Tamoxifen 7/12. 10/15 unexplained spotting in turn turned out to be tamoxifen induced endometrial thickening. D&C 11/15 and changed to Aromisin 12/15 but my spotting never stopped. 5/16 another ultrasound and the thickening is happening again, Doc said I need a hysterectomy but I want to know if there are any other alternatives to another surgery?
Avatar f tn I had a partial hysterectomy just under 3 weeks ago, and i was just wondering how much walking is too much? I am only going for short walks at the moment, but feel i would be able to go for longer walks, but am afraid i might push myself too hard. any advice would be helpful, thanks.
1510783 tn?1290096307 I am scheduled to have a partial Hysterctomy because I've been diagnosed with Andemyosis. on December 15th (just my uterus will be removed, so far). What can I expect in regards to pain, recovery time and emotions. I've had my tubes tied for 4 years so I am fine about not having any more children. My doctor is not sure if she has to cut me or go vaginally. I am a little nervous and scared about this major procedure. Any feeback would be greatly appreciated. I am 38 years old.
1740983 tn?1312873366 Ok my doctor is saying that I will need to have a hysterectomy because I have a fyfriod inside my uterus and one on the lining of my uterus. I seem to be having some leakage coming down and spotting. This seems to happen when I have sex and it is really bothering me. I have to wear a pad pretty much everyday. I want to know is this hysterectomy really what I need to have. And the leaking and spotting is this from the fyriods?
782368 tn?1244854467 I am due April 28 to have hysterectomy with both ovaries left .He will be removing uterus with tubes.I do not know what to expect. My Mother had hers done in her forties she said it was the best thing that she ever did.I have had so much pain as of late i just want some relief.(Pain worse after being intimate with hubby, are period time)Kind if scared here.
Avatar f tn He is doing exploratory lap surgery and may have to switch to a hysterectomy, or may be able to take care of the cysts w/out the other surgery. He mentioned that he's pretty sure he's gonna find endometriosis. I am also scheduled to have a D&C during the procedure b/c my uetrine lining is thicker than normal??? WEIRD! My surgery papers mentioned removal of "complex" cysts, D&C, possible hyst. (if needed).
Avatar f tn I do advise all women to try every option before a hysterectomy as it is a very difficult surgery the recovery is hard. that being said I have had one and I have helped hundereds of ladies through one, its do-able,,,when you see your dr please let me know what they say and I can help you more also if your pain is more than 7 on pain scale consider going to ER they have all the equipment to do ultrasounds etc to help diagnosis exactly what is going on and they are obligated to treat your pain.
Avatar f tn 12 weeks ago I had a hysterectomy. Spotting has been mild but recently had a bright red one day spotting. I made an appointment with my doctor and he did an exam and said I am 100% healed and did not see any signs of distress from the vaginal hysterectomy. He performed what I assume is a wet mount and said all was normal no bacteria seen. 5 weeks ago my chart stated he performed a UA with scope and my PH at that time was 5.5. And my urine culture came back no growth seen.
Avatar m tn I had a vaginal hysterectomy 8 years ago was great for me and I had a quick recovery. Surgeries change throughout the years. Laparoscopic surgery is great as well as the healing time is much quicker. Myself, I would go laparoscopic as it is a much faster recovery as I stated before. But I would definite talk to you gyn first. Good luck.
Avatar f tn If I have a hysterectomy, seeing how I had my tubes cut and they remove my uterus will I still have monthly periods? Also, we are going on a cruise in Oct, will I be complete healed by then? Thanks for your time.
Avatar f tn Basing the info off my grandma and mother- no, it's not normal. My mom had her hysterectomy in '88 or '89 and hasn't had a single episode of spotting since. My grandma had her's done in the 70's and although she did have some spotting it was due to colon cancer she was ignoring. (She had symptoms of colon cancer for 15 years that she ignored before she started spotting then bleeding every time she had a BM.
Avatar m tn If I still need to do some that it will be a laparoscopic hysterectomy recovery time is 2 weeks versus abdominal hysterectomy 8-10 weeks recovery time. God Bless you both and anyone else that's going through this!
Avatar n tn What would cause an onset of vaginal bleeding or spotting 16 years after hysterectomy? I am 41 yrs old. When I was 25 yrs. I had to have a more partial hysterectomy due to Endometriosis.I have one ovary left, but everything else is gone.
Avatar n tn Would you go through with a partial hysterectomy for spotting all throughout the month or would you do a uterine biopsy first to rule out cancer then just deal with the bleeding and heavy periods?
Avatar n tn Has anyone had the DiVinci machine for a hysterectomy? How long was recovery? How did it go?
Avatar f tn C section is scheduled for August 7th; however, due to the location of my fibroids I may have to have an emergency hysterectomy...is anyone else in a similar situation? Does anyone know anything about how that might impact recovery? Pregnancy has been basically perfect and baby is doing great otherwise!!
