Avatar f tn I have done a lot of research but want to know any and all the questions I should ask before having surgery. I also want to know if a urogynecologist might be better than a gynecologist. What are the questions I should ask a surgeon? How do I know who is best to do it?
Avatar f tn So, we have to leave by 6am to get there for an 8am appt. Is there any advice as to questions I should ask? Tests? I just want to try to make the most of this appt since I am having to travel. Luckily my husband took the day off to go with me. I know there is a HUGE difference between the doctors in cols vs cincy. My husband sees a neuro at the univ cincy that I think walks on water, just absolutely incredible!
Avatar f tn I was just wondering why a lot of you don't ask your doctor these questions. A lot of these questions, I think, need a doctors answer. Every pregnancy is different and symptoms vary from woman to woman. I can't even compare my first pregnancy to this one because its different. But, maybe its just me.
Avatar f tn Just to tease the doctor you could ask why do I need to ask a question when women have been doing this for thousands of years? Or you could just say I don't need to ask a question because you answer it before I ask. :-) Or you're just a very well educated momma.

Avatar f tn I always had problems with remembering what I planned on asking the doctor too. One day I just pulled out my list of questions that I had meant to ask but couldn't remember and my doctor actually said he was glad that I had written them down. It saves them time while we are trying to remember, plus they don't have to deal with us calling later because we remembered something we had forgotten to ask.
Avatar f tn Does your doctor freely tell you how much weight you have gained and / or what you're measuring so far?! Mine doesn't tell me unless I ask!! It's so frustrating! Those are such important piece of information, I can't believe I have to ASK for them!! He also doesn't ask if I have questions.... I should know what they are every appointment. So annoying.....

654825 tn?1224367025 Don't hesitate to ask anything that is on your mind...no matter how simple you think it may be. I see mine on Friday for a consultation before surgery on the following Wed. I have random questions for her. They range from recovery time and limitations...to how good she thinks she is at removing the gas that she will pump into me...lol. I hope you get someone who listens to you.
Avatar f tn I just got the phone call yesterday that I have cancer cells on my both breasts. I am going to see my primary doctor tomorrow. I still can't think and don't know what questions to ask for my doctor?
Avatar n tn My partner and I have not had sex since before the surgery. My doctor gave us the all clear, so we began to fool around, but just being aroused gave me a cramping sensation around the area of the opening of my vagina. It's sort of an achy pain, one I think I've had before the surgery during moments of arousal, but this time it was more intense. Usually the sensation goes away during sex, but I wanted to make sure it's nothing to be concerned about before I go making things worse.
Avatar f tn How experienced are you in dealing with Hep C ? Do I need a biopsy before treatment? How often will I be doing labs during treatment? What is your protocol for dealing with low wbc or rbc? What about other side effects? How often will I be seeing you during treatment?
493068 tn?1224765315 Usually you would be assigned a P.A. to help you thru tx. I have not been able to speak to my doctor at all during tx only the P.A. she is good and answers all questions. Of course she has to communicate with hepatolgist and then gets back to me. You shouldnt be in the dark, it is difficult sometimes. You need to be very pro=active.

Avatar m tn t discuss the hysterectomy together alone, ask her to go with you to an appointment with her doctor, and ask the questions of him while she is in the room. If she refuses, I would suspect she had the hysterectomy for a more complicated reason.

Avatar n tn I would like to ask Dr. HHH questions. How to do it? Keep on trying but I can't? Please guide me.
Avatar n tn I would advise taking a friend along with you to your appointment so you have someone to ask questions. You will more than likely be overwhelmed. Write down things to ask before your appointment so you won't forget anything at that time. Take a small tape recorder with you and tape what he/she says in case you miss something. You probably feel like you are in a whirlwind at the moment, and that is very normal.
Avatar m tn I have not been able to ask the doctor for the pediatric endocrinology forum. There is no post button there. Why is that?
Avatar f tn Hi, The Ask-a-Doctor Fertility forum is actually closed which is why it no longer takes questions. The doctors from USF are no longer able to answer questions. However, we are actively seeking new experts in fertility so that we can re-open the forum, since this is a very important health topic. As soon as we do find new experts we will be sure to announce this. In the meantime, Dr. Kim's Integrative Fertility forum at http://www.medhelp.

1046985 tn?1305117048 Hi Gail, thankyou so much for your reply. I have a whole list of questions to ask. My appointment is with Gyn at large public hospital, but I will definately be asking for a second opinion if I'm not happy with the direction it all starts heading. I'm fairly sure they are going to remove both my ovaries, as that was what they were talking about when I was in there last, and probably more the way I want to go after all the pain I've been experiencing.
Avatar f tn 30 weeks is the perfect time to start asking those questions, sometimes your doctor will have already planned on going over some of your questions at specific appointments and they usually do that during the last trimester. Go take a hospital tour so you can ask questions there as well.
Avatar m tn My wie is scheduled for a hysterectomy. The doctor is going to use arthroscopic surgery to remove the uterus, one ovary and fallopian tune, and part of the cervix. My wife had me go to the last doctor's appointment with her, and we got most questions answered, but I was a little sheepish to ask--How long will it be before we can try to have intercourse? Certainly, if my wife has pain or discomfort, we won't try, or will stop.
