1073454 tn?1317494199 You may want to check out our hysterectomy community forum for answers to your questions. I was fortunate in that I did not lose ovaries until after completing a natural menopause so I do not have the wisdom of experience to share with you. Others have prevented early menopause by hormone replacement. There's a patch that some have used with good results. All the other symptoms you mentioned can be prevented with a good hormone replacement until you are closer to a natural menopause age.
Avatar n tn Some doctors call a hysterectomy just removal of the uterus. For my full debulking hysterectomy I had my uterus, cervix, both ovaries, both fallopian tubes and full omentum apron and my appendix... Did you have your ovaries removed? If you did you could have remnant ovarie tissue that has cysts.. you need to ask more questions... I hope you find the answers...
Avatar f tn Glad the chemo went well and the MRI is now clear. I am certain that they will do the hysterectomy as soon as they can. Ovarian Cancer often does recur especially in later stages. I don't know what the stats would be for someone that still has their ovaries, I am sure that it is higher. All that being said, there are many women that do beat this disease, even in late stages. Stats are just numbers. As for blood clots, etc....don't really know. Be well.
Avatar f tn I had a complete hysterectomy 4 years ago. Am I eligible for an artificial uterus implant? Is there any way for me to get pregnant?
955060 tn?1251260239 Hi. I'm 26, have three kids and on August 6th. I'll be having a total hysterectomy. I've been dealing with severe endometriosis since I was 16 (shortly after the birth of our first daughter). it has spread and gotten so bad that I have to take prescription pain pills for the pain. I sometimes have to skip doing things with my kids (ages 10 years, 2 years and 2 months) because it hurts so bad.

1809377 tn?1316520328 That is why I supplement with the Vivelle patch (Estradiol) and also the testosterone. You are so smart to find out answers to your questions and I do know that all of this is confusing... so many opinions and variables out there. It has been quite a journey for me but I found a doctor, who sounds like yours, who listens and trusts that I know my body well... we figure it out together.
Avatar f tn So now my doctor Says we can do a partial hysterectomy, removing the cervix and uterus and the tubes but leaving the ovaries. I have no history of any cancer is in my family. Says we can do a partial hysterectomy, removing the cervix and uterus and the tubes but leaving the ovaries. I have no history of any cancer is in my family. My doctor did not say anything about an organ prolapse for any long-term potential risks.
Avatar f tn I have recently began to see commercials regarding problems caused by the Mirena IUD. I had a Mirena for approximately 3 years and continued to have problems with break through bleeding and pain. I ended up having 3 surgeries in less than 2 years. First an Endometreal ablation and tubal ligation, then (with a new gynecologist) a partial hysterectomy, and finally a complete hysterectomy.
1222892 tn?1312148824 I went to the hysterectomy forum and was reading some of their stories sounds like I have endometreosis so that pretty much answers my questions. I just hope that we can leave one ovary so that I will not be thrown into med. induced menopause.
Avatar n tn If YOU are not happy, and have concerns, YOU have a right to ask questions and demand answers. There are many reasons for an elevated CA125, but to get definitive answers, even consider contacting either the Mayo Clinic, or Cancer Centers of America.
297539 tn?1313195773 Had a spinal tap come back extremely abnormal. I suspect MS but MRI's are all negative for lesions but I have never had my t-spine checked for lesions. I have the L'herrmittes sign, numbness, tingling, severe migraines, nerve pain, neuropathy in my feet, and lately having bowel problems. Almost as if they don't want to move regardless of what type of medicine I take. The spinal tap results were: Protein:61 Albumin, CSF, quan:43.
233622 tn?1279334905 I am having an MRI on Friday and had to call the hospital for the pre testing questions. So the lady is running through the list of questions and asks me about recent surgeries. I told her I had a hysterectomy this fall. Would you believe her next question was COULD YOU BE PREGNANT? I I said, Uhm...I had a hysterctomy. She said OH yeah. I guess she had not been listening that well. I got a laugh out of it.
Avatar f tn ve since had a DNC,been to a hematologist with no answers and still bleeding heavy with clots. There have been times in the last 9 months that I only saw blood when I wiped. The majority of the last 9 months has been non stop bleeding with small and large clots. I can't afford to be off work for a hysterectomy, just trying to avoid it but I have come to the conclusion that I have no other options. I started taking vitron C which has helped my anemia. Oddly, my hormone levels are ok.
Avatar m tn How long ago was your hysterectomy? Perhaps having the answers to some of these questions will help you figure out what needs to be done in order to get the help you need! Let me know and I will try to help you!
1380711 tn?1281410086 Hi, I'm posting this to hopefully find some answers and support for my mom. She finally had a hysterectomy in 2005 because of a prolapsed uterus that happened after my sister was born in 1988. After the hysterectomy, her bladder fell and was pressing against her vaginal skin. She had another surgery to put mesh in place to hold the bladder. Both the hysterectomy and this surgery were where the surgeons went in through her vagina.
Avatar f tn I am 49 a single mom with three kids, one is special needs. I have been diagnosed with high grade DCIS and LCIS. I also have MS. First does anyone know if it is possible to have double mastectomy, reconstruction and hysterectomy at the same time? I'm in good shape, well other the above mentioned of course. Second if I did all this would I still be put on the anti-estrogen drugs. Yes I'm post menopause so it would be the ones that totally block estrogen like Femara not Tamoxifen.
Avatar f tn He told me that I will have a number of options (birth control, mirena, ablation, or hysterectomy) he told me that I may want to seriously consider a hysterectomy because over time the fibroid will grow and cause discomfort and I already have serious side effects from the heavy bleeding. He took a sample of the uterine lining, told me not to panic and wait for the results to see if it showed polyps.
Avatar n tn there is a complete seperate operation a BSO as discussed above where just the tubes and ovaries are removed,,,but you say you had an abdominal hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo ooperectomy,,,,you had organs removed from your body and no one explained to you what they where? I am very sorry to hear that,,,how are you feeling now.?

329994 tn?1301663248 Hello all, Very long story here about going to doctors for about 3 years and not getting any answers. Finally, got one answer and that was that I have chronic EBV and they think CFS. My question to anyone who can help is this, where do I go from here? I haven't found a doctor yet that can help. Also, I believe that my other symptoms are indicative of hypothroidism and think there is a link. Any help on that also. It has been a long 3 years of trying to get answers and no one listening.
