Avatar n tn I had the essure procedure done in 2011after I had my 7th child. please tell me why my periods are so painful and heavy now after my procedure? The literally make me sick and nauseous .
Avatar n tn Is this a contraindication for proceeding with the surgery or can this procedure occur at any time during the menstrual cycle?
Avatar f tn The 2nd is to perform a hysterectomy via an incision to my bikini line and leave my right ovary intact. The recovery time is exactly the same which made me feel a hysterectomy is my best option but now I'm having second thoughts. Can someone advise me?
Avatar m tn I had a salpingo oopherectomy on both sides, a hysterectomy as well as a appendectomy on February 5th 2013. I am 27 years old. Since the procedure was done I have had severe lower abdominal pain while urinating. I have been very sick. Does anyone have an idea of what this pain is from?
Avatar f tn The cervix is usually removed as well, and that entire procedure is called a total hysterectomy. There are two ways to do the surgery. The old-fashioned method is called a Total Abdominal Hysterectomy, or TAH, meaning the work is done through an abdominal incision. Recovery time is easily 6 to 8 weeks. A Total Vaginal Hysterectomy (TVH) means the uterus and cervix are removed through the vagina.
Avatar f tn I am having laparoscopic hysterectomy with ovary removel.(Brca gene) I have a one year old baby. I was told I can't pick up anything over 10pounds. No yoga or anything either . For 4 weeeks. Wow is this really true?? Is there a procedure with better post op recovery?
Avatar n tn t want to go through a surgical procedure and then end up having to have a hysterectomy in the long run. Naturally, I also don't want to have a hysterectomy and end up with complications and am really afraid of menopause. Any advise you might have would be greatly appreciated.
8012558 tn?1399308657 I was not told by my doctor about any side effects that essure procedure can cause. The procedure itself was very painful and my doctor didn't give me any pain medication during the procedure. I did essure 5 years ago and since then I have experience nothing but the pain in my pelvic area. Doctor performed laparoscopy thinking it is endometriosis, but after the procedure I was told it was very mild and she was not sure if that was cause of my pain.
Avatar m tn If I still need to do some that it will be a laparoscopic hysterectomy recovery time is 2 weeks versus abdominal hysterectomy 8-10 weeks recovery time. God Bless you both and anyone else that's going through this!
Avatar n tn I have a fibroid about the size of a grapefruit on my uterus and at least 2 smaller ones. My doctor was going to try the procedure wherein they go in and cut off the blood supply to the fibroid when she thought it was just one. Now that she has learned through an ultrasound that there are multiple fibroids, she said that procedure is not an option as it would basically cut off the blood supply to the uterus if they did that for each fibroid.
Avatar n tn I called a gastro doc and he set up a colonoscopy. I had to prep 2 days before the procedure. The morning of the procedure I still was NOT cleaned out!!!! YUCK.......still had to have the test. Now come to find out i have COLONIC INTERIA, but NEVER had problems before the hysterectomy. Is it possible that my gyne screwed something up?? I have also been having problems with my left leg (nerve) and 2 small toes going a little numb on me................
Avatar n tn This procedure may work for a limited time but for many, the horrors occur immediately. Insurance companies now require this procedure before a hysterectomy because it is less money. Most women will end up with a hysterectomy. There are contraindications why you should not have NovaSure done but gynecologist perform the procedure even though the woman is not a candidate. Doctors are not necessarily well informed and many women suffer.
Avatar f tn They also did the bladder sling procedure because of a prolapse. She developed a serious infection around the sling procedure and was treated with antibiotics. She also developed an over active bladder. The urogynecologist said there is no fistula, but rather her bladder has become over active because of the hysterectomy and the sling procedure. She also said that it is a temporary condition, but put her on Detrol. Her condition had not improved. In fact, it seems to be worse.
Avatar n tn the ob/gyn has suggested me to undergo hysterectomy during the procedure if i have excess of bleeding during the procedure as i am anemic. i want to know the pros and cons regarding the hysterectomy ..how much risk will it involve on my life? please suggest???
553516 tn?1255867219 but I have spotting a lot . It has not got a patern it happens any time. Sometimes it is a brown disgharge others times a bloody one. My gyno says it could be a cyst. this or it could be something more serious. Can I ask for everything to taken away I am just fed up of the pain which on the pain scale is about 6 to7 most day.
Avatar f tn please read up on just do a on-line search) a procedure called the DaVinci Robotic hysterectomy its the very best method out there..less bleeding, scaring, easier for both Dr and patient. I had this method and I have just four very small as in 1/4 inch scars on abdomen..yes it is a serious surgery. However in many cases and it sounds like in your case once done and past the 6 week healing it is soooooo very nice to be pain free.
Avatar f tn However, UFE is done by radiologists not gynecologists. So bottom line, that would be lost business for your gyn. Hysterectomy is very profitable and grossly overused so chances are many gyns will tell you to have a hysterectomy. I had one 10 years ago at age 49 and regret it every day. It is the surgery that keeps on giving "problem after problem." Best of luck in getting information and treatment that restores your health versus causing a whole new set of problems.
Avatar n tn The NovaSure procedure is a quick, safe, simple, one-time endometrial ablation treatment. This minimally invasive procedure controls heavy bleeding by using energy to remove the lining of the uterus. The average treatment time is about 90 seconds 1, and only needs to be performed once to lighten or stop your periods. No pretreatment drugs are required and NovaSure can be performed in the hospital or in your doctor's office.
Avatar n tn My GYN wants to remove the cyst and right ovary because of the size and suggests she also remove the left ovary and the uterus at the same time since I am menopausal and not having any more children. I dont want to remove both ovaries and end up suffering the menopausal symptoms I have escaped thus far and end up on an estrogen patch from now on.
Avatar f tn i had total hysterectomy done on Sept. 1, 2010. The procedure was a da Vinci laparoscopy or a robot assisted lap. and the uterus was removed thru the vagina. I had D& C thru the same procedure done on Feb. 22. 2010 and never had any problems after that but the second one, the hysterectomy, i'm experiencing severe spasms and pain on the left side of the stomach. The pain is described as squeezing, tightening feeling that never stops.
Avatar f tn I recently had a LEEP procedure done at the end of Feb. The next month when I did not have my regular period I went to my OB to find my cervix had scarred shut. He did a cervical dilation to allow me to drain and told me that if this did not work that I would need a D&C. I have read where this does not always work and a hysterectomy may have to be done. Does anyone know what percent of women with this condition end up having to have a hysterectomy?
Avatar f tn He said that was normal at the time. That is what I was question because originally when I had the procedure he said I should have no bleeding or discomfort? That’s what I was questioning as to having it after the LEEP. Also my bigger question to everyone has to do with local information or help groups. Living in the Burlington, NC area and being new to the area I don’t know of anyone to turn to here. I was hoping to learn if there is any support group in the area.
Avatar f tn ve gotten some REALLY good advice regarding the hysterectomy. To undergo a completely unnecessary surgical procedure simply for birth control is far too radical. Since you are in very good health, have had NO problems with the Mirena and it's obviously working, why fix what isn't broken? Why take ANY unnecessary risks with a surgical procedure? My advice is have a new device fitted and let nature takes it's course!
Avatar n tn s still not healed. Is hysterectomy a very long procedure? (In case) I wanted to know because of work demands. I just hope that everything will be fine and that you can suggest me what to do in case of anything that might come up. Thanks much.
Avatar f tn It was done vaginally but she had another procedure at the same time. She was recovered in about 2 1/2 -3 weeks. Everyone is different but I would think a month would be enough time as long as your not doing a physically demanding job.
10123610 tn?1408029225 I was just diagnosed with 2 ovarian cysts on my right side along with an enlarged uterus. I have had 1 cyst removed back in 1997 and had internal bleeding at that time. Yesterday my gynecologist told me about the 2 I have now. I also have some fibroids in the muscle tissue. I will be scheduled to have the cysts removed along with having endometrial ablation within the week. I am 46 and have been having issues with HEAVY menstrual cycles and bleeding between cycles.
