Hysterectomy malpractice

Common Questions and Answers about Hysterectomy malpractice

hysterectomy

Avatar f tn Your back and rib cage pain (and possibly leg pain) could be an indication of bone loss which can occur fairly rapidly after the ovaries are removed (or shut down after hysterectomy). But hysterectomy (uterus removal) even when ovaries are not removed destroys pelvic integrity since the ligaments that hold the uterus in place are the support structures for the torso.
Avatar n tn Not sure I understand. Are you saying she had the hysterectomy 7 years 4 months ago and the stitch was in all that time and just recently removed?
Avatar n tn Perhaps your ob-gyn did not do a full hysterectomy! Having a hysterectomy does not mean that everything comes out; hysterectomy is the removal of just the uterus; the full hysterectomy involves removing everything: ovaries, fallopian tubes, and the uterus!
Avatar n tn i had the old repair where they cut you down the stomach. i also had my hysterectomy done. i am in a lot of pain where i had my hiatal hernia repaired i get a lot of pain and it puffs up into a ball and it is very painful. and where i had my hysterectomy i get a lot of pain along the whole scare. i know i have a lot of scar tissue. i have had all kinds of test and special doctors and don't know what to do.

Avatar f tn I had a hysterectomy a year ago and the iloinguinal nerve was damaged. I take Gaberpentin and Nortriptyline and morphine every day. I am in constant pain and can't walk very far, stand or sit at the comuter very long. Nerve blocks ony help for about 48 hrs. No one will do anything for me. I keep being told that surgery to explore the wound is not an option. I don't understand why I have been abandoned by the medical profession. Can anyone help.
Avatar f tn After the doctor took my planceta out she said that it was small. My question is do I have a malpractice suite againist her? They have given my baby 6 months to live. I AM A WRECK!
Avatar f tn First, my deepest sympathy for the loss of your mom. That's so hard. I lost my mom when she was just 52 years old and have never fully recovered to be honest. Her situation was termed a 'medical misadventure' during her autopsy which is code for malpractice. My mom's malpractice issue was follow up of care post surgery. She died of sepsis and had signs of it that the doctor did not follow up on.
Avatar f tn I'm so baffled, scared, concerned and very overwhelmed!!! I've had high risk HPV for 13 years. Sometimes my PAP's are good sometimes they aren't. It's like a roller coaster. I've stopped having sex, I don't smoke, barely drink, exercise, take L-Lysine and Vitamin D, along with a lot of other vitamins. My last 3 paps came back normal, this last one just came back abnormal, so my gyn wanted to do a coposcopy. I went in, and was very nervous and very tensed.
1063386 tn?1287878569 Sooo funny how the mere mentioning of malpractice suddenly gets treatment. Lmao. I now have an appropriate dose of my meds and an appropriate dx. And my PT order for nerve rebuilding and not weight control. : ). Hehehe. Kicking butt. Love this. I will still be looking for a new doc. But in the mean time. I will be taken seriously and treated with respect from this as$ hat. Lmao. So to all those out there who have been bent over by there docs. This one was for all of us.
1986676 tn?1329862471 Yes I would find a malpractice lawyer - Doctors can't just toss your medical records if he passed on his patients to another doc at least he'd have a clue where they could be right?
Avatar f tn They all are pushing me off on someone else. My OBGYN says well you had a hysterectomy you are going to have pain... but that was almost three years ago. My Gas Dr, just wants to run test after test to see if it's heartburn... and my family doctor is clueless... I don't know what to do. I have a CT Scan and an Adominal x-ray, and an pelvic Ultrasound, they are are showing a mass posterior to the bladder, but no one wants to deal with it...
Avatar m tn Most places like them would be very hesitant at giving a partial or total hysterectomy. This is completely irreversible so many doctors refuse to do it until after a woman has given birth or is above a certain age. My sister had cervical cancer at 24 and they refused to remove her cervix until 2 years and several removals of the cancerous cells later. They were still hesitant to even suggest it but she demanded it and told her dr "I have 2 kids, I'm done.
Avatar f tn All states differ in their malpractice criteria. In Colorado any malpractice filings must go before a panel of both doctors and lawyers. Then they decide which cases warrant being brought to court. Over 25,000 cases went before this panel last year and only 100 were said to be filed. However you may want to save the finger of the glove and take it with you to the ER. And if they do find more of it have them save it or make sure its documented.
Avatar n tn I'm not sure just because something is painful why a person would think they should be able to sue the Hospital for malpractice. Pain during a medical procedure isn't malpractice !!! If you experienced unordinary pain when you had your biopsy then you should have ask for the Dr.s to use more medication to deaden the surrounding tissue OR perhaps if this procedure is ever scheduled again you might consider a light type of anesthesia.
Avatar f tn Well, I came up on something interesting. My Dr. has had 3 malpractice suits filed against him in the past few years, two of which being over Diagnosis. One was a dismissal. O.M.G. If I was not freaked out enough over the whole, "I could have cancer" thing. Now I find out that this Dr., who is the Associate Professor and Director of Div. of Gyn/Onc has had this happen? I feel stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Avatar n tn ve met with were extremely pushy and some did not even meet with me but sent their staff to meet with me and answer my questions, or if they did spend any time with me it was very brief and rushed and full of pushy sales comments. I have also checked malpractice history and it seems like board certification has no impact on how likely a doctor is to make a mistake and be sued and loose the malpractice case. Some of the worst lasik malpractice cases involved board certified doctors.
Avatar f tn , it is next to impossible to bring a malpractice case much less to win one. I am aware of a few hysterectomy malpractice cases found in favor of the plaintiff by settlement or trial. Of course, we rarely hear about the settled cases because the plaintiff typically has to sign a non-disclosure agreement. But trial outcomes are not typically in the news either.
Avatar f tn Unfortunatly most states have the Malpractice problem that present docs from rapidly responding to the needs. In most states there willbe enormous malpractice cases as a result of this so far, and tons of money to te lawywers. However some sates, ncluding my hometate coloado have marvellous ways of avoiding his.
Avatar f tn Sorry, I meant medical malpractice, not medication malpractice.
Avatar m tn Hi All, Like most of us, diagnosis was definitely not easy for me. However, I believe it should have been much easier (as most of us do, I'm sure). In my case, I believe there may be Medical Malpractice involved and I was wondering what you all think about it. Here's my dx story (revised from my previous post...I have my Medical Record now so I can fill in the blanks better): In 2006, I had an MRI for Migraines and to screen out M.S. because I have 3 members in my family with RRMS.
Avatar f tn Has anyone ever heard of this before? Is this a malpractice suit or more of a class action due to complications or possible recall of this specific staple maybe? I don't know much details yet. I also wonder if I do have some sort of case, if it even matters because its been nearly 18 years (or 13, depending which surgery caused this).
