Common Questions and Answers about Hysterectomy laparoscopic bleeding

hysterectomy

Avatar f tn Just had laparoscopic hysterectomy 1 week ago. Just felt a discharge and went to the bathroom and had a rush of blood. Is that normal? I spend yesterday mostly on my feet and walking around. Could this be the reason? Please help.
Avatar f tn I saw my obgyn today and was told in order to relieve my menstrual cramping the next step would be a laparoscopic hysterectomy. I had an oblation 2 years ago and it wasn't helping anymore. I was wondering if i will still get my period, he said he would be leaving my ovaries in.
Avatar f tn A small fibroid is not a reason to get a hysterectomy, either. Endometriosis can be treated by laparoscopic surgery, but it is to remove the endometriosis, not the uterus. Are you sure your doctor wanted you to have a hysterectomy? Here is a link that describes endometriosis. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.
Avatar n tn I am scheduled for a laparoscopic supracervical hysterectomy in 4 days. I started my period and will be on the light days at the end by the time i have surgery. Is this a contraindication for proceeding with the surgery or can this procedure occur at any time during the menstrual cycle?
Avatar n tn I am worried about uterine cancer as I have all the symptoms. If this was caused only from a fibroid would a hysterectomy be appropriate? Or could the bleeding stop eventually on its own if was just caused from a fibroid? I don't want to go through an unnecessary surgery, but I do want to know without a doubt if its cancer or not. Any thoughts are appreciated.
Avatar m tn I had a Myomectomy 3 years ago. Family history my Mom had a hysterectomy 51 many fibriods and heavy bleeding. Will I have to take hormones if I get a hysterectomy? Thank you for your quick comments!
Avatar n tn Has anyone had the DiVinci machine for a hysterectomy? How long was recovery? How did it go?
Avatar f tn If so, if you have endo implants / lesions on your cervix, those can cause bleeding. Even vaginal atrophy can cause bleeding but it would tend to be spotting, not full-on bleeding. You should see your doctor to determine the cause. Let us know what you find out.
Avatar n tn Had hysterectomy april 26th and bleeding daily till it turned bright red doc said would need to schedule another surgery to re-stitch vagina cuff. Had re-stitch June 7 with yellow discharge doc said was normal and at 5 week appt said all looked ok.. Next day started bleeding bright red & doc gone on vacation. Saw another doc who said didn't see where blood could be coming from & shouldn't bleed anymore. Wrong, still bleeding 7 days later.. Took pics to show doc it was bright red.

Avatar f tn My OBGYN had no explanation as to why and I ultimately had to have a laparoscopic hysterectomy. This was 4 years ago at the age of 45.
Avatar f tn Hi. I am having laparoscopic hysterectomy with ovary removel.(Brca gene) I have a one year old baby. I was told I can't pick up anything over 10pounds. No yoga or anything either . For 4 weeeks. Wow is this really true?? Is there a procedure with better post op recovery?
Avatar f tn I had a robotic assisted hysterectomy on June 26. My main complaint was lower back pain. The doctor said it was due to tilted uterus and endeometrosis. When she went it she said I had a lot of scar tissue that she removed (two previous endometriosis surgeries and a C-section). My back pain is still there and I actually feel worse. I know it is only two weeks post op. Anyone having this problem?
Avatar f tn They are recomending ablation or hysterectomy doe anyone have a opinion on which is best? I went in on Thursday after bleeding heavy for over 40 days & got blood work done along with a transvaginal us my results will be back on my Monday appointment. Thanks for any advice.
Avatar f tn I am 2 weeks post op....hysterectomy...I am experiencing severe left sided low back pain... Could this be related to the surgery?
Avatar n tn My doctor suggests that I get a hysterectomy. I do not want to try any medications because I feel that they will only mask the problem and eventually I will have to deal with it. I have two children, and don't plan on having additional children. My doctor suggested performing the hysterectomy laparoscopically to avoid opening me up again. She will remove the endometriosis through coagulation. Do you think that these two methods are the appropriate treatment?
Avatar n tn Like spreading my legs part is not comfortable to do. Why do I feel any pressure an pain down there I thought laparoscopic hysterectomy meant we did not touch my vagina? And if it is normal, it has been almost 3 months now why is the discomfort still there anyway?
Avatar f tn Hi everyone. Recently I was diagnosed with endocervical adenocarcinoma in situ (AIS). I had a leep procedure and that's how it was discovered. I'm now scheduled to have a laparoscopic hysterectomy. I get to keep my ovaries. I'm 31, no children and I don't want any so that's not a problem for me. But I'm still struggling. I'm scared to have the hysterectomy because the recovery process seems so long and painful and one of my biggest fears is pain.
Avatar f tn My MD is fantastic, and has offered many options but it seems my best ones are either a) hysteroscopic myomectomy with HTA endometrial ablation, or b) laparoscopic DaVinci hysterectomy. Of course, I can't decide! On the one hand, with multiple fibroids, some of which are actively bleeding, the recurrence rate is high once they are cut out, and I am likely still many years away from menopause hysterectomy seems like an appealing final solution to my problems.
Avatar f tn By the way, if the cyst is benign, you could be a candidate for a supracervical laparoscopic hysterectomy, or a laparoscopic assisted vaginal hysterectomy with removal of ovary(s). I'm sure that you don't want more surgery, but you even more don't want more cancer! Good luck!
Avatar f tn Has anyone ever had a hysterectomy that started out laparoscopic then went to abdominal? Do you have any advice for recovery ? Tips? Heads up?
Avatar n tn It might be worth considering adenomyosis as well - it can't be seen during laparoscopic surgery or on mri's (there are some clues there, but can't be confirmed) - I was just told by my doctor, after very similar symptoms to yours for 2 years now, that this might be what i have.
Avatar f tn Hello! I had a laparoscopic hysterectomy the evening of May 28th and had only my uterus removed. After careful consideration and some heavy reading, I decided not to have my cervix removed for fear of prolapse sag. I am religious about my annual pap exams and felt comfortable with my decision. My GYNO and I agreed that she would only remove my remaining ovary if it was not healthy. Lucky for me it was ok.
Avatar f tn I am now just over 2 weeks post op. I had a total laparoscopic hysterectomy, Davinci assist. I've been doing ok. Some back pain at end of days have been typical, especially if I did a few things during the day. I was in pain last night and went to ER. I was diagnosed with a UTI and given Cipro. Is it late to be getting a UTI this far out from my surgery and catheter?
Avatar f tn s eleven days post op with a hysterectomy, ovary and tube removal, and a sacrocolpopexy through the davinci robotic laparoscopic method. I returned to work yesterday as an accountant and worked for six hours. Lots of abdominal discomfort last night, some pressure, and what appeared to be some blood in my urine (pinkish color). My family thinks I'm pushing it. What do you think.
Avatar f tn I have recently found out that I am getting a complete hysterectomy (removal of my cervix, uterus and ovaries). It is being done with robot assisted laparoscopic hysterectomy. I am only 35 yr old and a little bit concerned with menopause and the hormone replacement therapy. I am just wondering what other women have experienced with having a complete hysterectomy and the symptoms of menopause.
Avatar n tn Hi everyone...I recently had a total laparoscopic hysterectomy and could use advice. 2 days at home and had to return. A cat scan confirmed an abcess. I became in patient for 4days then sent home w an abdominal drain and bag. 2weeks nearly and cut revealed should be able to remove abdominal catheter and bag this week. How serious is an abcess just above vaginal wall, what can cause it, and what kind of questions should I be asking my doc?
