Consultant ordered ultrasound after op of kidneys and all was well. Now l have developed lower back and pelvic discomfort, like something is pulling down or fallen, has anyone else had this, l am very worried.
Avatar f tn He had said after the oopherectomy that if I started developing cysts on my right ovary that I would need a hysterectomy. He said it again at the appt. He wants to do it within the next two weeks. There are complications though. My bladder is fused to my uterus. So he wants a Urologist there at the surgery just in case. He also wants a General Surgeon there to run my intestines. That way if there are any problems there it can be taken care of during the surgery.

Avatar n tn I had two high risk preg within two years (my boys we delivered by C-section in Aug 06 and Aug 07). I had a abdominal hysterectomy July 08 but was able to keep my ovaries. I woke up last night in A LOT of pain. I went to my family doctor today thinking it might be a kidney stone or kidney infection. I did not have blood in my urine so he ordered a CT. The CT showed a complex cyst in my left ovary. I have an appointment with my GYN doctor tomorrow. What is next?

Avatar m tn Hello all, can anyone give me any advice please? After a recent MRI scan for my back, it was noted that a small cyst was on my right ovary. After an ultrasound, CT scan and blood tests, it was found that I have a cyst which is 8cm in diameter. A consultation followed with a gynaecologist who explained that the ca125 test results show the tumour marker to be 11 and so it is unlikely to be cancer but they cannot rule it out.
Avatar f tn Is robotic laporoscopy the same as "normal" laporoscopy and keyhole surgery? If so, I believe plenty have had it... Have you read the "Top 10 things I have learned from laproscopic cyst/ovary removal" topic?
Avatar f tn Maybe ask your doctor to refer you to an oncologist near to your area and ask if they will conduct the surgery through Laparoscopy (Keyhole) or Lapartomy (Open incision). I have had keyhole and I recovered quickly and didnt find it painful at all, easier than I expected, but I am due Laportomy and dreading that recovery!
Avatar n tn I am 52, and due to have my ovaries and fallopian tubes removed by keyhole surgery as precautionary measure to avoid ovarian cancer, which my mother developed in her mid fifties. I have not had a period for nearly 4 years so assume I am already post menopausal. Will I still notice any hormonal effects after the removal of my ovaries, or not. Also will the scars heal over after surgery. A few of my friends think this is a drastic measure to take as I am fit and well at the moment.
Avatar f tn They dont have a clue I think like the first time and after a cat scan until they went in they did not know what they were dealing with and my scan was only last thurs so waiting to see consultant when ever that is I dont think I have the option of laproscopy, cause of adhesions, I have had 3 laprotomys 5 keyhole, and keyhole is not one they can do for me now, my last surgery was a laparotomy, things were a mess adhesions, they had to laser them I came back from surgery with all my thighs burnt
1478258 tn?1287390186 Laparoscopic surgery, or minimally invasive surgery (MIS), keyhole surgery, is a modern surgical technique in which operations in the abdomen are performed through small incisions as compared to larger incisions needed in traditional surgical procedures. Keyhole surgery uses images displayed on TV monitors for magnification of the surgical elements. Laparoscopic surgery includes operations within the abdominal or pelvic cavities.
Avatar f tn I am 43 years old and had a partial hysterectomy at age 27 due to a cystocele. I am also postmenopausal, no family history of breast or ovarian cancer but I do have multiple autoimmune disorders. 329165 tn?1515471990 I have to go for Nissen op soon but I was told that they would not be able to do it keyhole like they normally do, due to the 2 open-heart surgeries that I've had - scar tissue. Now I am really freaked out! what is the recovery period after an open Nissen op? will I be able to drive soon afterwards? how long is the hospital stay. Any help or encouragement will be appreciated.

Avatar n tn Usually cysts come and go based on your cycle. If they don't, I would assume it is an endometrioma (also called a chocolate cyst), meaning endometrial tissue that attached to your ovary. Have they told you the type of cyst it is? In other words, you may not need to have it removed because unless it's an endometrioma, it should resolve on it's own.
Avatar n tn After the op my doctor said that the keyhole went wrong and that the gas did not go into the correct place but no more information has come my way What do I do now? I have also had trouble breathing as I usually did, ie, breathless and very tired. what do I do now? Will the same pain and bad periods just continue?
Avatar f tn All i know is that they will try to remove cyst without the ovary through keyhole surgery but they wont know for sure until the operation has started so i wont know anything until i come out of surgery, i just find this a bit worrying. has anyone else had this problem?
Avatar n tn Does anybody have any idea of the method that is most likely to be used to remove it. I have been told keyhole or surgery, but then someone told me that it is too big to be remove by keyhole.
Avatar f tn I just went in for a laparoscopy, and kept hearing that I would have "keyhole" incisions. Well, I have two that are keyhole size, but the cyst was too big and they had to make a much bigger incision to get it out (probably about 4 inches). Is it still considered laparoscopy? I kept hearing that I would be up and about in just a few days, but I am just feeling pretty rotten and that incision area is feeling pretty rough.
Avatar m tn It depends on weather u have key hole or open keyhole is norm out the next day open is 2 to 5 days also recovery time 4 keyhole is a few weeks open is 6-8 weeks good luck and I hope this helps I'm waiting 4 the same op
Avatar n tn I have a friend who's daughter I think has Coloboma. I feel bad asking her about this as I dont want to hurt her feelings. I noticed her left eye has a "keyhole" like shape and I believe this is coloboma from what I have read. I also noticed her development is much slower than it probably should be. Her daughter is 21 months old and I have a son who is 20 months old. I notice a huge difference in social interactions, fine motor skills, speach, etc... Also she never smiles.

Avatar f tn was oncology, total hysterectomy, etc. and I blanked all the rest out. I believe her thoughts on the hysterectomy was because I had significant bleeding issues in Aug. (needed a D&C) that seems to be resolved now. So I'm wondering if I can just have the ovary/F.tube removed and call it a day? Please-any thoughts on this? BTW - I happened to read JennyRose's post about her anxiety on this issue & I can only say DITTO on all of it.
Avatar n tn two days after keyhole inguinal hernia repair testacles turned black and blue and more than doubled in size.
