I was prescribed Clonopin following my hysterectomy and it casued me as many problems as the other meds. I wasn't told they were habit forming and as always I got hooked. I had to cut off. If she can find something that is comparable and non-narcotic, I would recommend she switch before she gets dependent on them.

I expressed this to my doctor and he was willing to do a total hysterectomy on me, but he wants me to give the Seasonique a go before we proceed. He would do a full hysterectomy on me because of the endo, but my concern is that I simply do not want to age fast. I don't want to go through menopause and I heard sex gets weird after a hysterectomy. I don't want to be reliant on BC forever.

i have had a hysterectomy, approx. 1 week ago. I had a vaginal hyst. that kinda went wrong, I hemmoraged thru my stitches and had to b rushed back to surgery. Now i am home and dont feel any better still alot of pain, bloody discharge, very lightheaded when iu stand up, nausea, back pains, leg cramps, and other small things. I am aware this is a long heal8ng process but this just don't feel ok........ any sugg.?

3 weeks to go for my date to go in to hospital for my hysterectomy i have to ring the hospital on the day to see if they have a bed for me o god i am up the walls thinking about it anyone any tips i need to stop thinking about it it i am going mad befor i even get it done :{

Do you need hormones after a total hysterectomy? When do you know you need hormones after a total hysterectomy? Is there any problems if you do not take hormones after a total hysterectomy (46 years old)?

I am a female age 44yrs. and I had a hysterectomy in Nov 2010. An associate said that due to the lack of certain hormones present after a hysterectomy it may hinder or slow the process of healing of broken/fractured bones. Is this true?

You had a partial hysterectomy, meaning you still have your ovaries and wont necessarily go into early menopause, although it does increase the risk. Your ovaries are the organs producing the hormones, not the uterus. I would have to say it would be extremely unlikely, most likely impossible for both your eggs to make it through your tubes AND sperm making the journey to find an egg without the guidance of your uterus. A one in a million chance if that.

After having a vaginal hysterectomy, my Mom (mid 60's) went back to her obgyn for her hysterectomy follow up and was told she had Stage 2 cancer. Here is exactly what the Dr. said: "invasive adenocarcinoma. Invasion into outer half of muscle of uterus. No extension to outside of uterus. Stage 2". He wrote this down for my mom. My doctor tried to do a hysteroscopy and D&C on me (in hospital, general anesthesia) and said cervix is completely scarred shut. 3 weeks until my follow up. We still don't know what is the "area of concern" in my uterus. She mentioned we'll talk hysterectomy next. I'm 46. Do I have options? Trans vag US showed this area, unsuccessful Saline Ultrasound - the wall is up apparently. I do not want to play roulette. If doc thinks it is cancer, I want it out.

C section is scheduled for August 7th; however, due to the location of my fibroids I may have to have an emergency hysterectomy...is anyone else in a similar situation? I was told I have cysts and endometrosis. Im in horrible pain and am prescribed two Lortab 7.5s a day which honestly isn't enough some days. Some days the pain is so bad I take one and it doesn't help so a couple hours later I have to take another one. I don't want to do Lupron and only 26 almost 27 and have a 17 month old daughter. No family history of cancer except pre-cancer polyps (both my mom, and me) in the colon. She had hysterectomy in her mid-20s due to cervical cancer...so who knows about her uterus, and my grandma also had hysterectomy in her 20s due to fibroids and ovarian cysts.
