hysterectomy

Avatar n tn i am a 51 year old woman who had a hyst in late 20s. Total hsyt. I have had no relief of night sweats or hot flashes. I will sweat in cold weather. I will have night sweats even though i have A.C. turned down low. Im so tired of this. I have tried hormone treatment...to no avail. Any comments or suggestions will be much appreciated.
Avatar m tn The surgeon told me that my remaining ovary was in enlarged and that I would need to have another scan to see if it went back to its normal size. I had the scan today, which i was told that its still enlarged and that I would be referred back to gngyocolgy. I asked if she could see any cysts, but she wouldnt tell me. What i'm wanting to know is if my ovary is removed could I still concieve? I want to prepare myself mentally for what the doctor will tell me next week.
Avatar n tn No family history of cancer except pre-cancer polyps (both my mom, and me) in the colon. She had hysterectomy in her mid-20s due to cervical cancer...so who knows about her uterus, and my grandma also had hysterectomy in her 20s due to fibroids and ovarian cysts. She died at 63 of brain tumor. No other significant history. I have had 18 months of chronic GI issues, that have been thouroughly worked up, and all tests are normal.
Avatar f tn no hot flashes no crazy normal sex drive....if you was in you 20s it may be different ..I strongly advise you to remove them ..and never ever have to worry about ovarian cancer.
Avatar n tn I had pap issues in early 20s and negative apps up until last summer. I am now 45. I had a Leep procedure last October. I have had a yearly pap for nearly 25 years with no issues. It has been 6 months since Leep and time for pap. It came back mild dysplasia in such a short period of time.would I b crazy to consider partial hysterectomy??
Avatar f tn I'm 24 turning 25 in August.
Avatar f tn I should also mention, I'm in my early 20s. My grandma and aunt both had full hysterectomies in their 20s because of tumors. Problems run in the family with the female organs.
Avatar f tn (do not know actual size) cyst on my left ovary. I had the other ovary removed in my 20s due to a dermoid cyst. I had a total hysterectomy in 2004 due to fibroids. Basically, all I was left with was a partial left ovary to allow for hormone production. Anyone else develop a cyst after hysterectomy? Do you know if the chances are greater for it to be cancerous? I did a little research and as I look down the list of symptoms for ovarian cancer, I have every one.
Avatar n tn I am not a fan of the sythetic components in those patches. They are menpausal birth control devices in my opinion. I suppose b/c I have so many issues with hormone imbalances due to thyroid malfunction ( had mine nuked out in 2004) the body needs to find a proper balance for the individual. You must have swings of hormones due to the surgery - it just not possible to NOT have that. Only estrogen in the form you have it - can sometimes cause more issues.
Avatar m tn Yes it could be a cyst OR a fibroadenoma and probably is but you still need to have this investigated by your Dr. In the future if and when you discover something not normal within your breast you need to see your Dr. immediately for an exam and diagnosis. The two above mentioned findings are both related to hormone levels in the body. Whether this lump is the cause of your "Prickly" feeling is possible if perhaps a nerve is involved but that's really hard to say.
Avatar f tn The prevalence of hysterectomy makes us think it is a benign surgery but it is destructive in many ways (if you do not have cancer) and more so when the ovaries are removed since the ovaries of intact women produce hormones into their 80's for optimal health / normal aging. Medical studies clearly show the harm of ovary removal or post-hysterectomy ovarian failure. Hysterectomy changes the figure too as well as other things (such as bladder, bowel, and sexual function).
Avatar n tn I'm sorry your doc has such poor bedside manner, he could be honest with you without being so rude. First, I would get another opinion on the hysterectomy. I can't say whether that needs to be done. Second, I don't think you are a good candidate for freezing your eggs, at your age (sorry) there may be very few of good enough quality (if any). I am 40 (almost 41) and have tried for 3 years but had 3 miscarriages, likely due to poor egg quality.
Avatar n tn I had endo probably from the time I had my first period at 12. I had my first laparoscopy in my 20s, and had 3 before getting an official diagnosis of endo at 32. I finally got a doctor who said no more surgeries. Because the endo was so bad, I had adhesions from endo and scar tissue, plus severe ovarian cysts and some other things, I had a hysterectomy in my mid 30s. I say hold off on the surgery. It will always be there if you need it later.
351724 tn?1267537018 can you still have a hysterectomy done if you get your period at the time of your hysterectomy ?
Avatar n tn I never knew menopause was so horrible AND I MEAN HORRIBLE. If someone had told me when I was in my 20s that... oh yeah and guess what when you hit your 50s your gonna wish you were dead rather than feel like you hit a wall physically (figuratively speaking) EVERYDAY. This is hell srsly. I never knew I would hit meno age and feel this poorly. I have been googling fibromyalgia for gods sakes to see if that's it???? I have been taking aspirins like they are candy 2 in the a.m.
Avatar f tn I'm so happy to find a site that talks about pmdd....I'm 40 yrs old...2 kids and great hubby!! Unfortunatly I turn into a stranger when I start the process of ovulation and it gets worse as I go!! attentively scheduled hysterectomy 10/23/2015.... After seeking many treatments that of course failed! I ask today if anyone has done what I plan on doing soon..." And how do you feel now"?
Avatar f tn I wore a heart monitor for about 3-4 weeks back in November and it didn’t show any abnormalities in my heart rhythm or anything. I will definitely be getting a second opinion and looking into seeing a cardiologist. Thank you for your input!!
Avatar f tn Would love to hear positive things that say yea just have it removed and get on with your life, but I keep reading terrible hysterectomy tales. Thanks for listening NEW here.
Avatar m tn ANYTHING can cause a temp ED problem, even in your 20's!!! I would suggest seeing your dr & mentioning the Accutane & the research results you have found. I do vaguely remember seeing an advertisement for some lawyer group in the states claiming a lawsuit to the manufacturer of Accutane & anyone who suffered from a list of problems INCLUDING Accutane !!!
351724 tn?1267537018 anyways should i be concerned about this or is it hormones of somesort cause of the hysterectomy ? anyways i thank you so much for your input all and yes im am going to the doc on wed . !!!!! and no im not looking for a diag on here or anything else just some insite as to what to look for ! thank you .........
178345 tn?1242536246 As you all know I had a full hysterectomy in May 07..well today I was shopping with my younger daughter and I started feeling a tight crampy feeling in my lower pelvis area. this was 6 hours ago and I am still feeling it,,it feels like a muscle spasm or something. It hurts more when I walk than when I sit. I am so uncomfortable. what could this be? Should I be worried? Please let me know.
Avatar f tn I completed menopause naturally without surgery at age 46. Granted it was earlier than average, but...it is not unreasonable to go to menopause now. You can read my surgery story in my profile. I had both ovaries and tubes removed at age 48 in January. It will give you the whole lowdown on what to expect regarding the surgery, but I have no idea what surgical menopause is like. If you were in your 20s or 30s I'd say try to save an ovary. At 45, no way.
Avatar n tn Bless you heart, I know how you are feeling as I went through a complete hysterectomy in 1991. No matter what the circumstances it is not an easy surgery. It doesn't surprise me that you are having these pains as the entire area is close to each other. That being said, I would definitely call your Doctor and let them know what you are experiencing and ask them if this is what you should be expecting.
Avatar n tn You might, it's rare but it does happen to some women and they go through menopause in their 20s. If you start showing signs then it would be an idea to see your doctor and have tests done. You might be okay though!
