hysterectomy

Avatar f tn I am 54 years young and in November of 2010 had a multiple procedure surgery.. I had fibroids since my twenties and one had grown large enough that I was told I had the uterus of a 16+ week pregnant woman which I wasn't. I also had an issue with the vaginal and rectal walls deteriorating from repair work that had been performed after the delivery of my first child resulted in 4thdegree lacerations. Lastly, I had developed incontinence issues that progressively increased in severity.
Avatar n tn C and was told I had fibroids and I should have an hysterectomy. I refused. I have only been pregnant once and that end with an abortion in 1973 when I was 23. I was never able to get pregnant and was told I had scaring on tubes by a laparoscopy I was only on birth control for 2 year in my early twenties and was not on anything for over 30 years. When I started going through menopause I had all typical symptoms, night sweats, lack of sleep, decreased sex drive, hot flashes (every 8 mintues).

Avatar f tn He first suggested a simple removal of the cyst and ovary intact but then when I remined him that I only have the one ovary, right one was removed when I was in my twenties due to another cyst, he suggested a full hysterectomy. He stated that he was going to open me up anyway because he wants to make sure that he gets the cyst out without it rupturing so the recovery would be the same and this way I would avoid the risk of developing Uterine cancer later in life.
Avatar m tn m in serious pain. My first experience with adhesions goes back to when I was in my twenties. A hysterectomy left me in severe pain. Of course I had to go through all the customary, "It's all in your head my dear," lectures and I sat on the table writhing in pain. Here's my questions: I am disabled (unrelated problems), live alone and am closing in on retirement income. What can be done to remove these adhesions? I realize the risk of them growing back.
Avatar n tn What do you guys mean by "pooch" just curious? Pooch as in saggy skin or little pot belly?

19592380 tn?1480606612 d like to know if any of you have had a hysterectomy in your twenties and whether or not there are still other women out there who support the decision to have a hysterectomy at this age?
Avatar f tn You should go to the ER or urgent care if you can not get in to see your gyn. Providing a sealed pad to show the doctor (put it in a ziplock bag sealed) to show them what you are dealing with would be a good idea.

It hurts more when I walk than when I sit. I am so uncomfortable. what could this be? Should I be worried? Please let me know.

Avatar f tn My pelvis story ~ (the short version) By Tina Diane This is my pelvis story of living over 25 years of my life with pelvic pain, my true pelvic pain issues began when I was in my early twenties (although I had heavy bleeding even as a child – I started my period at 11 years old) and as most women would do I started with my primary care physician who did my pelvic exams.

Avatar n tn Bless you heart, I know how you are feeling as I went through a complete hysterectomy in 1991. No matter what the circumstances it is not an easy surgery. It doesn't surprise me that you are having these pains as the entire area is close to each other. That being said, I would definitely call your Doctor and let them know what you are experiencing and ask them if this is what you should be expecting.
Avatar f tn Hello, I'm in my mid twenties and I have anxiety horribly bad. I recently started getting palpitations daily and went to the doctor , the ekg was normal and I have an echo and Holter monitor next month . I bought a stethoscope and noticed at times there's a small pause before the next beat. Is this normal or a problem ? My doctor listened to my heart and did ekg and said it was normal but fast. I have good blood pressure and no known health issues.
1149921 tn?1297559913 There are treatments for fibroids so it does not always lead to a hysterectomy. If you were to have a hysterectomy then yes, you would probably have menopause symptoms. There is hormone therapy to help with that though. Find out what your ultrasound results are and do research. If your Dr only gives you the option of a hysterectomy then get a second or even a third opinion. I hope this helps some. Take care.
Avatar f tn Sorry you are in pain. I do know that you can have endo tissue migrate to the bowel even after a hysterectomy. A 2 cm simple cyst like that on the ovary is perfectly normal, don't worry. A rectal abcess can be very, very painful. Are they treating you with anything? Steroids or antibiotics? Special diet? I hope you feel better soon.
Avatar f tn How can my cancer travel to the uterus without passing through the tubes? Is it ovarian cancer or uterine? I am scheduled for a hysterectomy next week and my doctor says only the second biopsy would tell. Anyone else who has seen this before? I really want to keep my system - I am 30.
404304 tn?1201709677 I have a serious question, and would like an answer. I had a hysterectomy Feb 19, 2008. During my healing I kept feeling jabs inside, and didn't take pain meds until it started getting painful. I had an allergic reaction to motrin. I went to my Doctor for follow up and told her about my pain, she said don't take motrin. She cleared me for intercourse. My husband and I had intercourse and he said he felt needles in me. I called the Doctor and they played it off.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know a Doctor that specializes in POTS in Michigan they can recommend?
