hysterectomy

Avatar f tn t do anything more than curl up in the fetal position on the floor and rock. The morning of my surgery, my surgeon (who used to be an exploratory cancer surgeon) and I discussed my bypass, and I brought up my periods, and how I could never get anyone to take my pain seriously. She agreed to "reach around down there" (TMI! LOL!) and see if there was anything while she had me open.
Avatar f tn I have been operated on twice now, the last time was 3 years ago, I had to have a hysterectomy, I told my doctor then that the pain in my back was as bad as all the other pain I was having. Unfortunately she is a gyn and could not preform surgery on my back. Now the pain is so bad, some days I'm limping around, some days I swear it is affecting my neck as well and can hardly move it at times.
Avatar m tn Are you aware this is hysterectomy board?
986153 tn?1272319065 re all very courageous and remarkable people. I thank you for all the input and advice in the past.
Avatar f tn any suggestions from ppl that may have gone through this would be appreciated? The doctor told me that the side effects from hysterectomy are not that bad as long as they leave the ovaries. I am in a little bit of a panic and not sure what route would be best.
Avatar n tn Bless you heart, I know how you are feeling as I went through a complete hysterectomy in 1991. No matter what the circumstances it is not an easy surgery. It doesn't surprise me that you are having these pains as the entire area is close to each other. That being said, I would definitely call your Doctor and let them know what you are experiencing and ask them if this is what you should be expecting.
Avatar f tn Our fingers are crossed that you sail through this and all comes back fine. I appreciate the discussion on the hormones since I will be going through a hysterectomy in the coming weeks too. Please do come back and post and let us know how you are doing.
572651 tn?1530999357 This week kicks off the holiday season here in the US with Thanksgiving on Thursday. Christmas and New Years aren't far behind. Lots of expectations and demands happen for all of us and I thought it might be useful to start a discussion on how you cope with the stress. We host Thanksgiving at our house and have about 30 people here. it is quite the day and I don't turn down any offers for help. We cook the turkeys and provide the house and everyone else brings food to share.
Avatar f tn How soon are you getting into see the Gynecologist? I hope you find out something very soon and I'm glad to hear the bleeding has stopped. Will you please let us know what the Gynecologist says?
Avatar f tn Tristan Riley Nelson I also picked out some biblical inspired ones. Jakob...because I am 39 and I laughed just like Sarah did in the bible when my doctor told me I was pregnant...it was at my hysterectomy pre-op! Jakob Gabriel Nelson or Jakob Isaiah Nelson Please provide feedback and we are still hoping for suggestions.
Avatar f tn I've had endo since I was a young adult, followed by Adenomyosis adding into the mix when I was in my 30's and have been told hysterectomy is my only option to get rid of all my pain, excessive bleeding etc I had an endometrial ablation in 2005 to try and help, for a few months it worked then everything just grew back I still can't bring myself in my mid 40's to have one done even though the dr says I should.
7895403 tn?1395152718 Hi, Bleeding after menopause can be due to various reasons. It can be local issues in the cervix and vagina like erosion or polyps, or it can be endometrial hyperplasia or cancer. Hence it is necessary to know the report of scraping and to see whether it was normal. Also Pap smear from the cervix should be done. An ultrasound scan of the pelvis will help diagnose conditions like ovarian cysts. The answer is based on information provided.
599170 tn?1300973893 First and foremost welcome, I have been a member of this fabulous community since August of 2008. I have some personal history with hysterectomy and related subjects. In brief summary I have had several diagnostic laparoscopies, 2 d and c's, 3 laproscopic surgeries to remove endometrial tissue, DaVinci Robotic Assisted Hysterectomy, a BSO (surgical removal of tubes and ovaries.) I have great empathy for any of you facing these procedures.
Avatar f tn I had a unilateral salpingo-oophorectomy and Hysterectomy back in 2007 when I was 27 years old. 2 forms of birth control could not stop an 8 month long period. (Non-stop). I was prepared for the mood swings, hot flashes, and all the other weird stuff that came with it. But not for this long. And now depression, no sex drive, major hot flashes, and bad insomnia. Nobody can answer me on how much longer. I think I ran my only ova into the ground. What should I do?
Avatar f tn Thank you for the information. I appreciate it. 12 days ago I had a complete hysterectomy. Since I am no longer producing estrogen will cysts go away?
Avatar n tn If I was in the same boat I'd be in surgery on Monday. I know it is a rushed decision, but it will be done and over with. Chances are good that the cysts are benign, but if they are not you don't want to waste time. This disease is nothing to mess around with. The surgery will be done and you will be feeling good in no time. I am hoping you will have a gyn/onc do the surgery. They have the experience in case it is cancer. My gyn called one in to do my surgery and it saved my life.
Avatar f tn Thyroid hormones and estrogen go hand-in-hand for many of us. I was just the opposite - had an ovary removed for PCOS in '96, thyroid cancer in '03, other ovary removed for PCOS (huge, hemorrhagic cysts) in '06 and ongoing fibrocystic breast disease. All are fed by hormones (either thyroid hormones or estrogen) and many, many of us on the forum have these problems.
Avatar n tn RELIEF IN SIGHT! They have scheduled my Total Abdominal Hysterectomy for a months from now. I am worried about the hormonal replacement and recovery time. I am only 29 years old and will have to replace my hormones for the rest of my life...I think? Considering that my hormones have been way off since I was a teenager, I think I might be able to feel better if they are regulated frequently. I have heard that recovery time from abdominal hysterectomy can be anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks.
Avatar f tn Thanks, I am so glad I found this site. I have asked my gyn several questions, but it always help to ask someone who has been through it. I have read so many stories on this site that really helped me with alot of questions I have.
Avatar m tn Well I usually just say persistence and force to convince a dr that a procedure like this is necessary; that's true for all the drs I've had in the US. But if you're trying to work within the Russian system and a bribe is working there, where little else has- perhaps try it? Either way just keep in mind a full hysterectomy removes ovaries too and will cause her to go into menopause unless she's given hormonal treatments for years.
Avatar f tn Welcome to the gastroenterology community! It is very strange that they didn't find anything on the colonoscopy to show where the bleeding is coming from. What color is the blood? Have you had a stool test to see if it is truely blood in your stools? How often does this happen?
Avatar n tn I am NOT a doctor but I do know where you are right now and it is difficult. After my last GYN surgery in 1989 my surgeon "suggested" I take Phayzme (simethecone) after each meal and at bed time and I still do, it does help.
Avatar n tn I have a fibroid about the size of a grapefruit on my uterus and at least 2 smaller ones. My doctor was going to try the procedure wherein they go in and cut off the blood supply to the fibroid when she thought it was just one. Now that she has learned through an ultrasound that there are multiple fibroids, she said that procedure is not an option as it would basically cut off the blood supply to the uterus if they did that for each fibroid.
Avatar f tn Glad the Dr. feels optimistic.. That's always a relief..And, I apologize, I can't for the life of me remember what the surgery will be for (Must be the heat down here in Fl. .. just brutal) But stay in touch with us and that sounds like really good news..
Avatar n tn So, either your a liar, and need serious help. or the doctor who did the hysterectomy, is a effin LIAR and needs help.
