Hysterectomy in office

Common Questions and Answers about Hysterectomy in office

hysterectomy

Avatar n tn Bless you heart, I know how you are feeling as I went through a complete hysterectomy in 1991. No matter what the circumstances it is not an easy surgery. It doesn't surprise me that you are having these pains as the entire area is close to each other. That being said, I would definitely call your Doctor and let them know what you are experiencing and ask them if this is what you should be expecting.
Avatar f tn I have set a record in my ob/gyn's office as being the oldest person who still hasn't gone thru menopause, age 65...my hormones are out of balance, an ablation of the uterus didn't help, I bleed every day. I don't want to have a hysterectomy...anyone else share my aging dilemma?
442027 tn?1209866342 Hey Everyone, THANK YOU for all the LOVE, PRAYERS, SUPPORT AND HUGS!!! My friend and I are confident in this doctor. He's the best in our area that my family doctor sent me to. He has a website with above average ratings for him and his entire staff. I was SO RELIEVED to see it's a very small office and WHOLE STAFF is SO.......................ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL......!!! He has a main office, but I went to his little office that is close to me.
404304 tn?1201709677 I have a serious question, and would like an answer. I had a hysterectomy Feb 19, 2008. During my healing I kept feeling jabs inside, and didn't take pain meds until it started getting painful. I had an allergic reaction to motrin. I went to my Doctor for follow up and told her about my pain, she said don't take motrin. She cleared me for intercourse. My husband and I had intercourse and he said he felt needles in me. I called the Doctor and they played it off.
Avatar n tn What type of hormones are you taking? Are you on Premarin? Or on any other synthetic hormones? Or on the vaginal ring? or the Vivelle patch? Estratest? Bioidentical Progesterone? And, what about testosterone, either gel or cream, which we women can use "off-label" but some formulas can be put on the cliteral/genital area and work wonders regarding the issue you mentioned.
602473 tn?1235853158 I am 19 days from having my scheduled Hysterectomy. It is supposed to be Lap surgery with one surgeon & also with my GYN Oncologist to make the incision if he finds it needs to be done. I am having my uterus, tubes, & ovaries removed. The cervix will remain. The reason for this operation: I had irregular bleeding & after several trans vag ultrasounds & 10 days of Provera, my Uterus lining was still around 18mm.
Avatar f tn I am 63. I recently had an abnormal pap smear. Subsequent a cone biopsy and uterine scrapings came back negative. A CT scan showed no masses. Still my Dr. is recommending a hysterectomy. He says I definitely have cancer and a hysterectomy is the only way to make sure we have it. I am wondering why a hysterectomy is advised based on negative biopsies. Kaiser is my provider. Do their surgeons get paid additional for surgeries?
Avatar f tn Do you have to get a PAP smear after a total hysterectomy to include ovaries? I’ve been on divigel and the doctors office will not refill my prescription with out a PAP smear.
Avatar f tn I had a baby 4 months ago as of April 26th and a hysterectomy 2 months ago as of April 21st. Yesterday out of the blue when I woke up I started bleeding. It was bright red and somewhat watery. It lasted only through that day. I am not sure why. I started running on Sunday and wasn't sure if that was why. I did get the clean bill of health after 6 weeks from my dr.
Avatar n tn If I was in the same boat I'd be in surgery on Monday. I know it is a rushed decision, but it will be done and over with. Chances are good that the cysts are benign, but if they are not you don't want to waste time. This disease is nothing to mess around with. The surgery will be done and you will be feeling good in no time. I am hoping you will have a gyn/onc do the surgery. They have the experience in case it is cancer. My gyn called one in to do my surgery and it saved my life.
Avatar n tn Just over two weeks ago I had a hysterectomy and bladder repair. I was unable to urinate due to swelling and was sent home after six days with instructions to self-cathetorize. Ive had differering instructions as to how often etc. At the moment, I can urinate between 50 - 150 mls on my own every couple of hours but use the catheter every four hours and the residual is between 100 - 200 mls. How much longer can I expect this to continue?
Avatar f tn I had a partial hysterectomy around 2012. I still have ovaries. I began bleeding about 1 year or so. Dr prescribed estradiol, I was schedule to be back to see him Feb 14 to see how the medicine was affecting me. His office called and rescheduled to March 7, received a call last Thursday to March 23. Anyway, I am concerned regarding my vaginal bleeding.
Avatar f tn When I sit, I feel like I have baby feet in my ribs. My hysterectomy only removed my uterus and my left ovary. I kept the right one. So I would be inclined to agree somewhat that what I am experiencing has nothing to do with the surgery except I was fine prior to having it. So I went to my local hospital's convenient care clinic, described how I was feeling. I was not running a fever, or anything but I was sent for a CT scan and a cbc.
862686 tn?1239064700 I had a lot of problems going after the surgery and they had me start on a stool softener that really seemed to help. Because of the blood in your stool I would definately contact your doctors office. That would be a cause for concern for me no doubt about it. Good Luck!!!
Avatar m tn i had a hysterectomy 2 weeks ago. i am still experiencinga lot of pain like the worst menstural cramps ever and it hurts really bad to use pressure to have a bowel movement. Is this normal??
Avatar f tn So was mine for 16 years after my hysterectomy. You can get it back with Testosterone and estrogen. I did and it's better than ever! I believe in quality of life and my quality of life is incredible once I added the Testosterone to the estrogen. The method of delivery I chose are pellets inserted under the skin of my hip. It's done in my doctors office and takes about 10 minutes. Now I want and enjoy sex more than ever in my life!
602473 tn?1235853158 Ok, I guess I am having a FREAK MYESELF OUT day and I need some help....PLEASE. I am 19 days from having my scheduled Hysterectomy. It is supposed to be started as a Lap surgery with one surgeon and also with my GYN Oncologist being there to make the incision if he finds it needs to be done. I am having my uterus, tubes, Ovaries removed. As far as I remember him telling me the cervix will remain.
Avatar f tn Now the doctors office calls to say there is a cyst where her ovary used to be. She had a hysterectomy over 20 years ago and at that time her ovaries removed. She has an appt. with gyn next week. Can you give any thoughts on what we might expect to hear as a diagnosis. My mother does not want project concern for herself but I know she is worried and does not want to worry us. Stubborn. If anyone has experienced these similar symptoms I would be eager to hear your diagnosis.
Avatar f tn I know how you feel, I had a hysterectomy in Feb for the same reason. Had tried several other treatments in the 2yrs prior but opted for a hyster (took uterus and cervis) in the end and I don't regret it. Its been the best thing for me I feel great in myself now and not going mad trying to plan my life around when my period was coming and all of its probems. I am sure my husband and kids are happy to have me back as well. Good luck with it.
Avatar f tn How large is the fibroid, and did your Gynecologist recommend having a hysterectomy? You could get your own health insurance but most companies make you wait 3 months or more before they'll pay for any surgeries. Check out individual health insurance online. Some of the policies are very affordable.
Avatar f tn Hello, I think the thickness of the endometrial stripe really depends on where you are in your cycle I have heard up to 12-15mm in the late stage is normal. I would think a biopsy would be appropriate. I know I had a thickness of 4mm one week after my period, 12mm and 15mm later it my cycle. I had a biopsy and it wasn't too bad. Just in case you've heard horror stories. My reg. gyn. did it right in her office. I hope you will be able to save an ovary! Is the anemia from heavy bleeding?
967168 tn?1477584489 I'm waiting on my regular gyn to confirm everything but the Dr doing my sono today said nothing looks "suspicious" for cancer; just worsening Endometriosis & Adenomyosis from my surgery in 2005 and last tests in 2007. I have to wait until Monday to talk to my regular Gyn he's not in the office on Friday's even though they set up my appt with him.
Avatar f tn I visited my gynocologist for review of a fibroid. His office called today to say that my uterus was enlarged and that I needed to take lupon shots. They said that my uterus went from 155 ml in Dec. 09, to 243 ml on June 17, 2010. I have no symptoms, other than maybe one or 2 heavy days of my period. I am 53 years old and still have a regular period. Do I need a hysterectomy??? Do I need to take the lupron shots??
Avatar f tn Sorry to hear about the hysterectomy. You may still have enough hormones in your body explaining the mild symptoms (hot flashes). So taking the HRT may have given you too much estrogen thereby causing the headaches. I also had a hysterectomy and did not start HRT until around 6 weeks post-op even though I was not having many symptoms (the main one being inability to sleep).

Avatar f tn Just had laparoscopic hysterectomy 1 week ago. Just felt a discharge and went to the bathroom and had a rush of blood. Is that normal? I spend yesterday mostly on my feet and walking around. Could this be the reason? Please help.
Avatar n tn Like the above poster said, some discomfort can be normal. But it sounds like your in a great deal of pain if your having to still take pain meds, especially 2 at a time. The nurse should have had the Dr talk to you or at least call you back. If you can not wait to get in to his office until tomorrow then you can go to a med center today.
178345 tn?1242536246 As you all know I had a full hysterectomy in May 07..well today I was shopping with my younger daughter and I started feeling a tight crampy feeling in my lower pelvis area. this was 6 hours ago and I am still feeling it,,it feels like a muscle spasm or something.
