Aside from providing prognostic information, systematic surgical staging identifies occult metastases to allow for appropriate postoperative treatment.
Avatar f tn I am 49 a single mom with three kids, one is special needs. I have been diagnosed with high grade DCIS and LCIS. I also have MS. First does anyone know if it is possible to have double mastectomy, reconstruction and hysterectomy at the same time? I'm in good shape, well other the above mentioned of course. Avatar n tn My friend had it and was fine, her baby was born happy and healthy no issues. I have gallbladder disease brought on by pregnancy and was paranoid that it would impact my baby or that I would be forced to deliver early. I'll be full term on thanks giving and there's no sign of early delivery in my future. Don't stress yourself too much about it. The stress is more likely to cause issues than the actual condition. Best of luck!

Avatar f tn My gynecologist that is doing the hysterectomy I will be seeing in the middle of March. In other words, I'm scared to rock the boat.

Midwifes tend to more holistic in their approach and you can often deliver at a birth center instead of a hospital. 1358758 tn?1390767067 If he had residency in ob and fellowship in RE then that means he has the same training as an RE. RE's are MD's and they don't get extra letters after their names, just MD. Could be that he is an RE but advertises himself differently than most bc he also does ob, which most don't. It is totally valid to call his office and ask for clarification about his credentials. For me I find it most important to find a doctor that I like and trust. Good luck!

Avatar n tn Bless you heart, I know how you are feeling as I went through a complete hysterectomy in 1991. No matter what the circumstances it is not an easy surgery. It doesn't surprise me that you are having these pains as the entire area is close to each other. That being said, I would definitely call your Doctor and let them know what you are experiencing and ask them if this is what you should be expecting.
10064121 tn?1415176073 I don't generally like to listen to drs at all simply because we don't agree with so much because I am trained in the medical field but in a very different way. If I were in your shoes though I think I would go with the cardiologist opinion since he specializes in the heart and has monitored yours under stress. Maybe see what he thinks of one being in the delivery room to side with you on decisions. I don't know, that's what I'd do.

If you're concerned, talk to your doctor and give good detail about the type of pain you're feeling.
