Avatar f tn Most commonly, women who experience menorrhagia may develop iron deficiency anemia due to the excessive blood loss. In many cases, menorrhagia is accompanied by dysmenorrhea, or abnormally painful menstrual periods. Painful menorrhagia is generally a symptom of pelvic inflammatory disease (PID). Because menorrhagia is usually a symptom of another underlying condition, treatment varies depending on the cause of the bleeding.
Avatar f tn This condition is called menorrhagia. Normally the period stays for 3-7 days and comes in 21 to 35 days. However sometimes normal periods can be irregular. The causes of menorrhagia could be due to bleeding disorders, vitamin K deficiency, excess usage of aspirin, hormonal imbalance, stress, fibroids, recent intra uterine devices (like copper-T)etc. So I will like to advi9se for internal examination with gynecologist and take opinion. I hope it helps.

Avatar f tn Did your Dr do a blood test?
Avatar f tn The two most common causes of menorrhagia are hormone imbalance and uterine fibroids Hormonal Imbalanceis an imbalance of the hormones estrogen and progesterone is the most common cause of menorrhagia. In order to build up your endometrial lining, your body releases estrogen and progesterone. If these hormones become imbalanced, your endometrium can continue to build up and bleed excessively. Uterine Fibroids are non-cancerous growths that form inside your uterus.

1809377 tn?1316520328 Hi friend, I saw GYN yesterday & she scheduled a partial total laparoscopic hysterectomy. She will only keep ovaries unless they are diseased, one due to my age (34), and bcuz I have a family history of both heart & osteoporosis, so why take any risks. She will be removing the tubes, along with the uterus & cervix because she wants to prevent issues in the future with endometrial cells causing issues in the futures & I have past problems w/ annormal paps.
