Avatar f tn My mother had ovarian cancer so I am concerned it might be related to another primary type ca such as this. I had hysterectomy years ago but the mucosa in peritoneal cavity is same as ovaries. Could this be mets from undiagnosed ovarian cancer or breast ca? Should I just wait to see if grows larger? Whats are stats on abdmonial wall mass being cancer.
Avatar f tn He is sending me back to the OBGYN and wants that group to coordinate with the general surgeon who I am consulting with about the gallbladder issue. PCP, at minimum, wants a vaginal ultrasound to be done in one month, doesn't want to alarm me but all these risk factors aren't looking to good for me, I think. Any advice, suggestions? Opt for a hysterectomy to play it safe? Laparotomy? Some way to coordinate gall bladder treatment with this?
Avatar f tn I have Hep C and I am expecting treatment in the fall, I am also a non-responder from 5 years ago. I am also scheduled for a hysterectomy in November and I am wondering if the 2 things will conflict?
Avatar n tn Thank you. The tumor is behind my right ovary instead of on the front. Doesn't that make it closer to the sciatic nerve? Is it likely the mass can be removed laparascopically? I am researching gynecologic oncologists in Florida. I have access to all of them but don't know which one to choose. Can you make some recommendations? I'm looking at Mayo Clinic, Finkler's group in Orlando (he doesn't do surgery any longer), Dr. James Orr in Naples.
Avatar f tn Hi -I am new to this group.. I have terrible heavy periods now which is actually becoming a problem at work so have been back to hospital. I have had endometriosis all my life..2 laps 2001 and 2007...I had 3 IVF's when i was 35/36..neg. I am now 40..I have possible diagnosis of adenomyosis recently, and from notes from 2007 operation, they neglected to tell me that one of my tubes was blocked...they don't tell you that ivf blocks your tubes. go to http://www.aweber.com/z/r/?
Avatar f tn I am sorry you are suffering from both PCOS and endo that is leading you to hysterectomy. I assume you already know that hysterectomy is not a cure for the insulin resistance of PCOS or for endo. Some women do get relief, either temporary or permanent, but some don't (I don't know the percentages). I had a hysterectomy 9 years ago at age 49 - absolutely the WORST thing that has ever happened to me but I did not have a chronic pain condition.
Avatar n tn After having a vaginal hysterectomy, my Mom (mid 60's) went back to her obgyn for her hysterectomy follow up and was told she had Stage 2 cancer. Here is exactly what the Dr. said: "invasive adenocarcinoma. Invasion into outer half of muscle of uterus. No extension to outside of uterus. Stage 2". He wrote this down for my mom. How does this all sound to you?
Avatar f tn Surgeons dont think it is cancer and have asked, if it is benign do i want a hysterectomy. Pros, no chance of cancer in the future. Cons, more surgery, risks, effects etc. I am 66 healthy but overweight.

Avatar f tn Yes, I also hope you do not fall into the 40% post-hysterectomy ovarian failure group! But even if you do not, you will probably go through menopause at least a few years earlier than you otherwise would have. And it may be more severe than natural menopause. Hoping the spotting is nothing concerning. You may just need the vaginal cuff cauterized.
Avatar n tn It helps to talk. Maybe you can encourage her to do the same with clergy, a friend or support group. I found a site that helped me called hystersisters.com. It helped with post op, pre op, and just sharing about feelings and what was going on with my body after surgery. Maybe she feels alone or isolated with you being gone. Does she have family or friend visitors? Who helped her the first two weeks?
401095 tn?1351391770 (hi worried!) i was told to take it because i had a total and complete hysterectomy almost a year ago....and all of my hormones are still way unbalanced and out of whack -- estradiol, estrone, progesterone, DHEA, testosterone, cortisol -- you name it, they're out of balance because my organs which normally produce most of those hormones were taken out....so far, only estrogen (n the form of biest cream) and progesterone have been replaced (using specially compounded bioidentical creams)...
Avatar f tn As well, I would love to hear from those who have had a full hysterectomy using this device, as the doc mentioned removal of my uterus and my second ovary as possibilities. Thanks to all!
551683 tn?1220656108 I think I would just prefer, since child bearing is not an issue, to think about a hysterectomy as one procedure instead of two or three tests and/or biopsy. I know this probably sounds weird, but I suffer from so much pain from uncurable fibromyalgia that if some pain can be taken away, it looks promising. Does that make sense?
Avatar f tn So he wasn’t sure if he got it all, he recommended a hysterectomy. I was also still having a lot of bleeding and discomfort at the time and the doctor said that was normal? At the time I was in the process of moving to North Carolina and was very confused as to what to do. He said that either way I would need to find a doctor here in NC or return to Massachusetts to have the procedure done.
Avatar f tn i am past menopause. the dr is going to do a complete hysterectomy on me. will i go through menopause again. how will i feel emotionally and physically. i have adhesions so they have to open me up. please help me. i have an ovarian cyst and a thickened endometrium.
Avatar m tn I had a salpingo oopherectomy on both sides, a hysterectomy as well as a appendectomy on February 5th 2013. I am 27 years old. Since the procedure was done I have had severe lower abdominal pain while urinating. I have been very sick. Does anyone have an idea of what this pain is from?
Avatar m tn I had a hysterectomy at age 45 due to a benign tumor on my left ovary as well and fibroids. This was done in October 2011. The surgery did provide pain relief from the painful periods, and constant fibroids, but 9 days after my surgery I started with a major depression that has not gone away. After having my bloodwork taken, my thyroid was hypo active and that was corrected.
Avatar n tn What would make me bleed after hysterectomy 9 years later I have my left ovarie only its only when having sex?
