Hysterectomy for sterilization

Common Questions and Answers about Hysterectomy for sterilization

hysterectomy

Avatar f tn Now the flow is still in my endometrium I still have severe pain and now retrograde flow beceause my cervix has been blocked for the past 4-5 months. Hysterectomy scheduled in 2 weeks. It's worrysome as I am currently on my cycle but still no flow coming out of my uterues and worried about where this flow is storing and how it may affect me until my surgery. I feel like the only person with this problem and it's very distracting. Has anyone had this same experience besides me???
470658 tn?1210868219 Has anyone have had a tubal after giving birth? I heard that initially after you have your child, the doctors can do a tubal right there for you.
Avatar f tn Pre-op, I had menstruals that lasted for months (my last period lasted 62 days); constant lethargy; hair loss; dark circles under eyes. Saw my ob 16x in 10 mos (full exam) & he continued to switch my birth control as he advised that I needed more hormones. I moved out of state & was referred to a great doctor who took one look (and tests) & advised that I had severe dysplasia, endometriosis, a few cancer cells on my cervix, and I was pregnant.
389774 tn?1306441672 I think the MD meant hysteroscopy, not hysterectomy (which is completely different). It's a very simple procedure which I've personally had done multiple times. My obgyn does them in her office for simple reasons like this with a licensed anesthesiologist in the room to administer twilight anesthesia.
636290 tn?1224186146 Does anyone know of a reliable source which sites the proper sterilization method for Hep C? As far as I've ever heard, the only thing that can kill the hep c virus is sterilization. Anyone know anything?
1395792 tn?1358115792 Have you guys considered having your husband sterilized as well, or just going in for a hysterectomy?
Avatar f tn This does happen sometimes because all of our sex organs work together and removal of any one part or procedures that affect their functioning (such as tubal sterilization or removal, hysterectomy, ovary removal, endometrial ablation) can throw everything out of whack. Have you considered taking birth control pills to regulate your cycle? I cannot speak for the remaining ovary being "pushed back" but things can get displaced to some degree when you have surgery.
Avatar f tn I would not get the ablation because a large percentage of women end up needing a hysterectomy within 5 years of getting it due to problems with scarring. So that for me is a last resort.
Avatar n tn Well...Novasure isn't sterilization, but it's not recommended in the least. It can lead to death in both the female and child. A ligation is permanent sterilization and shouldn't be thought of in any other way. If you want another child, you'll need a surrogate or adopt.
Avatar f tn I am 53 and im still in Perimenopause. I am scheduled for a total hysterectomy in a couple of weeks and one of my ovaries has had multiple cysts. My surgeion wants to take both during the surgery but so many women are telling me to keep the one that has not had any cysts on it. Is there an advantage to keeping your ovary after menopause?
Avatar f tn i am a diabetic and using insulin pump infusion sets for years. sometimes i see imperfections on them. i found a browish, red color on the adhesive along with a few black dots on another set. i also found a dark reddish substance smeared on the outside of the package. I am concerned with the risks of being contaminated with HIV. The help center from the distribution center said they want the defective ones back to inspect which make me anxious.
1601869 tn?1441310748 re looking for a more permanent type of birth control, sterilization (vasectomy for a man, tubal ligation for a woman) may be the right option for you. Similar to barrier methods, these surgical options pose no risk to breastfeeding.
Avatar m tn Does anyone know the sterilization process for dental cleaning tools? and can someone please explain if they were cleaned properly if they came out wet in the sterilization bag after they were in the auto clave machine using steam to clean them?
Avatar n tn yes clysta is right its a form of permanant sterilization. mind if i ask how u didnt know or y u had it done?????
5613090 tn?1370934986 If your sterilization was done near the site where the tube joins the uterus, the chances for success with tubal reversal are less. Sterilization toward the end of the tube where the tube is larger and more delicate is less successful. Also, sterilization performed by removal of the end of the tube is not reversible.
Avatar f tn birth control, besides complete abstinence or total hysterectomy with bilateral oophorectomy. Even sterilization (tubal ligation and/or vasectomy) doesn't work 100% of the time. It is impossible to have one method that works 100% of the time for 100% of the population. Basic human physiology shows that people respond to different things in different ways. The Mirena IUD worked just fine for me, but some women have it and get pregnant anyway.
Avatar n tn Statistics from one US clinic show women up to the age of 30 had a 77% success rate after their reversal. For those between 35 and 39, this rate dropped to 62% and for those over 40, the success rate was only 34%. A recent study in Human Reproduction looked at successful rates of delivery of a child after sterilization, comparing reversal of sterilization to IVF (in vitro fertilization).
Avatar m tn i did not know that it wasn't a 100% confirmed
Avatar f tn Last night in Belize I got my head shaved with a straight razor and got a pretty small cut on my head. I know it's dumb but at the time I didn't even think of sterilization as I've never been to a barber before. After walking back to my apartment I realize just how dumb that could have been as sterilization was probably not a practice there.
Avatar f tn Hi, my gay friend recently bought a dildo for himself and we're teenagers, so we're both really horny. We were curious if we both used the dildo together is there ANY risk of stds? Would it be better to sanitize it or put a condoms over it of we were both going to be using it? Thank you.
Avatar f tn Sterilization. Preferably male sterilization because it's less invasive, has a shorter recovery period, and has a higher rate of success. That will be our method after baby #2 arrives this summer. Noooo more babies.
Avatar f tn Less than 1%. Sterilization doesn't often fail, and when it does you risk it being an Ectopic pregnancy. If these really ARE due to pregnancy a test at this point would be accurate. If you want another child you need to go through IVF or have a reversal done. Bear in mind neither are cheap and neither are a guarantee. Why did you have sterilization done so young?
Avatar m tn t be a pig about it, I would be ok with just a seroconversion cure for now, and not a full sterilization cure, but still would like to know if there is such hope in the future for such a cure too. Thanks!
