Avatar f tn Thanks so much for your reply. Hope the kegals work.
Avatar n tn Logic is telling me that if we can do Kegels to strengthen pelvic floor muscles for the prolapsed uterus and bladder, there must also be a similar set of exercises that can be done to tighten up the bowel ligaments. Try looking up Kegel exercises where they'll give you a step by step set of instructions...ONLY, in your case, you may want to try to pull up on the rectal muscles as well...
Avatar f tn Not sure what you are asking "what does all this mean." Are your uterus, bladder, and rectum prolapsed? Why not suspend the uterus along with the other parts versus removing it? Removing it increases risk for another prolapse down the road as well as a number of other problems. We need our uterus for more than having babies.
Avatar n tn I have been having pelvic pain for over a week and the physician said that my pain is where my uterus use to be and told me that my body thinks that I am going to have a menstrual cycle and this is causing the discomfort. Please advise.
Avatar f tn m 43 years old and have just been diagnosed by four different physicians (yes, I was in denial) that I have rectocele, cystocele and prolapsed uterus. They have all recommended a vaginal hysterectomy, said my cervix must come out and I need a bladder hammock. I am very scared. I'm afraid sex won't be as good for my husband because they expressed a little concern about vaginal shortening. I'm worried I will not pick the right physician.
Avatar n tn Looking for a second opinion my Gynecologics feels that I need to have my uterus removed through the vagina so the can repair the rectocele and the weakness of the back wall of the vagina. They feel it might not take a good effect otherwise. I have never had any bowel movement problems or urine leaks. Thanking you in advance for your response.
Avatar f tn thanks for responding; I'm waiting to see a Urogynecologist to see if I can get a pessary; nexy wek will be a month since I've been waiting for an app'y; will call Urologists office to see why it's taking so long; been doing Kegels now for 2 weeks; if I already had a prolapsed uterus (removed with hysterectomy) and now a prolapsed bladder, doesn't that show that my pelvic muscles aren't strong enouph to support everything; will I eventually have future problems (such as v
Avatar m tn Hi, I had a vaginal hysterectomy removing my uterus, cervix and one ovary.. still have one left. one year ago. I ended up hemorrhaging a week after the hysterectomy.. I actually have stage 2 Cystocele & Rectocele. But we are going to hold off with doing any sort of surgery for right now, going to try some physical therapy. I also have a 1 cm area of Granulation on the vaginal cuff that is going to have to have surgery at some point to repair as its very sensitive and I have had bleeding.
3198373 tn?1348243591 I'm 44yrs. old & have my first ever appointment with a gynecologist coming up in 3wks. time. I procured the appointment because my periods have been wonky this year, coming very close together with prolonged flooding (going through a tampon & back up pad every 10-30 minutes), passing clots the size of golf balls & spotting in between cycles.
Avatar f tn I ran across medical literature that described useing a pessary for vaginal vault prolapse after hysterectomy. Keep looking and get a second opinion. Good luck ,I hope you avoid surgery.
Avatar f tn Has anyone ever suggested Endometiosis? I had prolapsed uterus for 7 years in different degrees ,and had terrible excruciating at times back pain....4 weeks ago I had hysterectomy and vaginal, bladder and rectal repairs..........I think the back pain is gone......I wont be certain until I am fully recovered, because you have a bit of back pain during recovery...but it is a different pain, and I think the old back pain was due to this prolapse.........
Avatar f tn I'm 54 yrs. old and almost finished with menopause. Have a prolapsed uterus and need a hysterectomy. It will be done with the da Vinci robotics. My mother died from breast cancer and I don't know whether or not I should keep my ovaries. Need advice.
Avatar f tn ( take it out!!!
1380711 tn?1281410086 She finally had a hysterectomy in 2005 because of a prolapsed uterus that happened after my sister was born in 1988. After the hysterectomy, her bladder fell and was pressing against her vaginal skin. She had another surgery to put mesh in place to hold the bladder. Both the hysterectomy and this surgery were where the surgeons went in through her vagina. Since then, her bladder has fallen again, and then mesh part is coming through her vaginal wall.
Avatar m tn I am 51 years old and have 3rd stage uterus prolapsed and my menopause got over 2 he doctor has adviced me surgery. She took a few tests and in the pap smear it showed ASCUS cells. She said it is nothing to worry about but suggested the ovaries be removed as well because of my menopause and age so that it does not turn in to ovarian cancer in the future. I am very worried about the thought of removing ovaries.

442027 tn?1209866342 I had a prolapsed uterus. It started about 7 years ago and I kept fixing it myself (don't ask)..and the gyn would not do hysterectomy because it is major surgery and thus far it was a minor nuisance for me. I told him it was like an old warn out handbag, I am not gonna use it anymore so why not get rid of it! Well it finally fell down far enough to cause cystocel and rectocel and then they decided I couldl have it out.....
Avatar f tn I was just "diagnosed with a "incomplete prolapsed uterus??It was coming out between my legs!!WHY didn't the ER do something other than "send me home"???I'm upset cause IT IS A HOSPITAL and to ME IT WAS AN EMERGENCY???
Avatar n tn My doctor has recommended a vaginal hysterectomy due to prolapsed uterus. I will also need a posterior and anterior repair. She does not recommend robotic surgery. She claims she would have to perform the posterior and anterior repairs vaginally and that robotic surgery is not an option. Can a Davinci Robotic surgery be used for both hysterectomy and vaginal wall repairs? I am considering a second opinion from a doctor who routinely performs Davinci surgery. Thanks.
Avatar f tn Now I can get ready to have my second opinion regarding my still prolapsed uterus, and then evaluate if I shuold go the full length and just have a hysterectomy performed , or continue to adapt to my situation and just "live with it".
553516 tn?1255867219 it seems lodgical that perhaps if he removes the prolapsed uterus the bladder would go back to proper position. I fail to see how suturing the vaginia would solve your problem. Please let me know what he says.
Avatar n tn I have a cystocele, rectocele, enterocele, prolapsed uterus- Stage 1, and a perineocele. This is causing pain and problems so I need to have surgery. My doctor would like to use the DeVinchi robot. Has anyone done this?? How long is the recovery? Is it best to have uterus fixed, left alone or removed? I am 52 and not through menopause yet. Also, is it best to do all this at the same time?
Avatar f tn t plan on having surgery for this yet, unless they can offer something else. I had a hysterectomy last July for a prolapsed uterus and they did both an anterior and posterior repair, but then the bladder prolapsed after that. I'm not ready to rush into surgery again unless it's been proven to be problem free. I just want some relief from this bladder thing, especially when I have to stand most of the day.
Avatar f tn My right ovary was encased in a softball sized Solid mass. I had a prolapsed uterus as well. There are many new ways to discern what could be causing her inner stress. Hormones are running out of control. Make an appointment, go with her, explain what might occur, however; do ask if she wants help in this area. Don't send her to the male OB/GYN that lives 2 houses away from you like my Mom did. It was horrible!!!!!!!
