Avatar f tn m male so can not relate entirely but have had IBS for 20+ years. 42 now and it has come to our families attention that there is a history of autoimmune diseases: Addison's disease and other thyroid disorders. As I hope this is not tha case with you, I thought the information might be helpful. If nothing else, process of elimination.....How old are you? My mother's condition started much tha same and it went misdiagnosed and I'll treated for many years.

Avatar n tn Polycystic disease of the ovary, fibroids, PID, diverticulitis, cystitis and IBS are the possibilities that you should get investigated for. There is a possibility that you have a stone in the urinary system. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar f tn Ive been feeling fine. 41 year old female. Diagnosed years ago with IBS and a long history of hemorrhoids and adrenal fissures. History of pe- cancerous colon polyps at 29. Last colonoscopy was 4 years ago. Last month I unexpectedly lost 14 lbs in less than 2 weeks. Dr sent off blood work(normal), mammogram(normal) and chest, abdomen and pelvic CT. CT showed a calcified granuloma in my lung(usually benign from my readings) and segmental colitis with majority thickening of ascending colon.

Avatar f tn Hi, I have suffered with IBS for 20 years. Since I started with thyroid problems and a premature menopause it has become abominable and last year had taken over my life. I spend my time parking the car near toilets etc. Nothing works, and I have tried everything and I like you panic as soon as I feel the sensations of yet another attack coming on. It is a dreadful disease. But I fully believe that hormones have a big, big influence. My endo has also said that this is the case.
Avatar f tn I rememeber i was prescribed for Tofranil and took the meds for a year, and amazingly, the chronic pain went away although i was still having the alternate diarreha and constipation but no chronic pain. Right now, i belch all the time, feel bloated and having flatulence. My stool culture, stool O&P, C. Diff. are normal and negative. I informed my Ob/Gyn doc about the pain and she ordered a CT scan. I'm still waiting for the result bec.

So, post hysterectomy I have developed allergy and sinus issues, ibs, gallbladder removed, pre-diabetic, neurothapy, degenerative disc, interstitial cystitis, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, the list goes on and on so as u see the prolactin issue got put on the back burner.
Avatar n tn I am a 45 year old female. I have suffered from what they tell me is IBS for over 5 years. I am tired of it. Nothing they have done has worked. I am constantly having cramps, and feeling the need to go now. I had a hysterectomy about 7 years ago, and was fine. But the last 5 years have been terrible. Nothing seems to show up, but yet I suffer. I have been trying to lose weight for a while as well, and nothing works. I have counted calories, been on many diets, and nothing helps.
Avatar f tn I have been to Cleveland Clinic for severe cramping when ready for bowel movement. This was diagnosis and treated for IBS. Meds do not help this situation ... wondering if anyone else has experienced. Questions to physicians would be since I had complete hysterectomy and everything has dropped should I seek a surgeon to lift up ? Very painful. Also incontinence is becoming on issue feeling like pressure there. Thank you appreciate your thoughts or anyone thoughts from forum on this subject.
Avatar n tn I had a hysterectomy and a subsequent neuroma formed in my right lower groin area. Has anyone had improvement by using acupuncture or anything else? The problem I have is not only some pain, but it wreaks havoc on my intestines.
Avatar n tn Don't let the doctors give up until you know for sure what is causing the symptoms. You probably have nothing to worry about, but it is best to rule out ovarian cancer for certain. I had every symptom in the book for early and late stage ovca. Even though my mom died @ 51 with ovca, docs just dismissed all my symptoms as IBS, being 35, not exercising enough, etc. I had CA125s that were normal. A scan could have found my cancer earlier.
Avatar f tn 1 with my second child, gall bladder removal, nissan fundoplication, tubal ligation, and last year a complete hysterectomy. The ileus developed after the hysterectomy surgery. My GI system has not been the same since. I have seen several doctos and have not even been given the time of day, I cannot get any of them to answer my questions regarding the GI issues I am experiencing. I then began to try to do some of my own research.
