Common Questions and Answers about Hysterectomy estrogen

hysterectomy

Avatar n tn Does anyone happen to know if there has been a connection with too much estrogen causing more neuropathy pain?? Anyone experience the onset of neuropathy after a hysterectomy? I would appreciate any info.
Avatar n tn I also do not have ovaries but I take estrogen. When my estrogen level gets rather high, my FSH is low (in the range of a menstruating woman). When my estrogen is on the lower side, my FSH rises.
Avatar m tn It is likely the estrogen deficiency that is causing the depression. I also had a hysterectomy (in 2006) and quickly spiraled into a severe depression...did not want to live. Of course, the rapid aging and many other problems brought on by the hysterectomy did not help matters. Getting the "right" form and dose of estrogen cured my depression. I never even bothered with anti-depressants since I figured it was all triggered by the loss of ovarian hormones. Are you on estrogen?
Avatar f tn I had total hysterectomy 16 years ago I am now 56. I take monthly infusions of IVIG for low IGG immunoglobulin and very low IGA. I have heart disease, anxiety, depression, fibromyalgia, arthritis, irritable bowel back issues, migraines basically been falling apart since 2007 when diagnosed with sarcoidosis. Which now has healed itself after oncologist ruled out cancer. Wondering if hormones could help?
Avatar m tn I am thinking about having a hysterectomy because of terrible endemetriosis, I am 47 and have a history of breast cancer, so I cannot get any hormone replacement therapy. But i have read that maybe it won't help. Does anyone have any thoughts?
Avatar n tn I had a complete hysterectomy last Nov. I am on hormones but, my problem is I can't achieve an orgasm I don't know what to do. I don't know if it's mental or if my hormones are messed up.I also have a problem getting aroused. It feels like I am going crazy.
Avatar f tn I have found that the estrogen Estradiol is THE estrogen to use and I cannot tell you how much this product has helped me. As Sheri mentioned, the Vivelle Dot is great... it is a bioidentical estrogen and it is all estradiol. If you don't supplement with this chances are great that weight gain around your 'middle' will happen or continue since the body is trying to make estrogen for you when levels are low or flucuating.
429647 tn?1249753429 my ttumor was tested and it was estrogen positive i am on an estrogen blocker.. how about asking your doc if the tumor was estrogen positive or not.
Avatar n tn I had a total hysterectomy in 2012. Ovaries and uterus removed. I never did go through menopause symptoms. I was 39 years old. My doctor started me on premarin. I took it for 2 years and then quit. The doctor wanted me on it for 10 years. I never told him I quit it. I haven't seen a Gynecologist in 4 years. I'm 45 years old now. I've felt great not being on hormones. I haven't experienced any menopause symptoms. A few months ago I started getting really bad insomnia.
Avatar f tn I had a full hysterectomy 4 yrs ago. I take 1mg estrogen and thats all. Every year i have felt a little worse. But the past year my lower back, mid back at ribs, and legs have hurt so bad i cant walk or get up. Im also severely exhausted, i have shrunk an inch in height and lost 20lbs. What are my drs doing wrong. Im so tired of this misery. Any suggestions??
Avatar f tn Endometriosis can complicate matters because all of the endo is seldom removed at the time of hysterectomy and can itself produce estrogen. So it is possible that it was helping to keep you supplied with estrogen but is no longer. Have you checked your estrogen levels periodically since your surgery? However, unfortunately, we cannot always go by levels.
Avatar n tn I had a radical hysterectomy done 9 years ago. Since that time I have gained weight that I cannot lose, my cholesteral level has risen to a danger zone and now take medication also B12 injections. I suffer from fatigue, memory loss, cold sensitivety and other problems. I recently had a FSH test done and was told the levels indicate I am still producing estrogen.
Avatar n tn I had a hysterectomy at age 49 and have been on estrogen ever since (12 years so far). I'm not sure I could function without it. I was a basket case until I found the "right" form and dose of estrogen. What gynecologists fail to acknowledge and many women do not realize is that the ovaries are health "powerhouses." They produce hormones a woman's whole life, with estrogen falling but testosterone gradually increasing in the post-meno years.
Avatar n tn Hello, my wife had a full hysterectomy approximately 10 years ago and everything was taken out, EVERYTHING. She had a few cysts and her gynecologist suggested a full hysterectomy due to the fact that the cysts could come back if she were to get a a half hysterectomy. Long story short, she's a strong woman who really keeps it together but she has recently expressed that she's been battling depression.
Avatar f tn I had a total hysterectomy in January of 2008 because I had endometriosis everywhere. Since that time I still feel as though I have the same pain from the endometriosis as prior to the surgery. Also I have some bleeding after sex. Is the bleeding something I should be concerned about? Can endometriosis spread to other organs in your body? I guess I'm not as educated on this as I should be. If anyone knows please contact me. Thanks for your help.
Avatar f tn My understanding is that in post menopausal women, or women who are in forced menopause from a hysterectomy..the estrogen is what is declined...i have anxiety that seems related to the menstrual cycle, specifically when estrogen drops in the cycle. I also developed all this for the first time after I stopped breastfeeding and got my cycle back.
1074733 tn?1256231619 My blood and saliva panel came back showing a very high level of estrogen, even though I have no uterus and only 1 ovary. They call this estrogen dominance. They prescribed estrogen cream which was compounded by a pharmacist. Over the past 10 years I have had numerous doctors tell me they thought I should be on HRT for symptoms I was having, and just because of the hysterectomy.
Avatar f tn I had a hysterectomy Jan.08'. Two weeks after my hysterectomy a painful lump showed up in my breast next to the nipple. It was painful and swelled up to the point where I could see it without touching it. It was very sensitive. However, it went away after 1 1/2 weeks. I am now on an all natural hrt that has done wonders for me without all the dangerous side affects of clinical hrts. What I am wondering is, should I be worried, what could have been the cause?
Avatar f tn i am 35 and on dec 2010 i had both overies and uterous taken out -- thats a hysterectomy..this is called a surgical menupause..i am on estrogen which helps with hot flashes and mood and other stuff..if u take hormones--or do not take them it IS still called menupause..
Avatar f tn I also had a hysterectomy in 2006. :( I've read that it might act like estrogen. If that's the case then it could explain your hot flashes and deflating breasts. Did you have hot flashes before you started taking maca? Is there some reason you are not taking estrogen?
Avatar f tn I had a FULL hysterectomy 6 weeks ago. I was put on HRT. I stopped taking it without doctor knowing about 2 weeks ago because of the horrible headaches. I feel fine without it and definitely don't have the headaches. I'm 42, my sex drive is fine and I have a had a couple of hot flashes but nothing crazy. What happens if I stay off of the HRT?
Avatar f tn I had my hysterectomy on August 22 of 2006, I was 36 years old, started having thyroid pains within eighteen months of surgery. Cysts in both breasts within 3 months of my hysterectomy and again a year later. Cysts on ovary, now I've been diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer (papillary) at 38. Could there be a connection between the Hysterectomy and Thyroid Cancer? No major problems before hysterectomy.
Avatar n tn For one thing, if you are going to lose your ovaries during this hysterectomy (called a complete or Radical hysterectomy) then you are losing a source of estrogen and testosterone. Your ovaries will continue to 'drip' some estrogen.. estradiol... until you are about 75 or 80. Your ovaries will also continue to drip some testosterone until you are about age 75. Of course, you won't get much in the way of these hormones but you get some.
1336491 tn?1340619541 From what I know I would not hesitate to go back onto HRT. My hysterectomy was in 1993 and I only went off the estrogen in 2004 to help lose weight . (It worked) Estrogen is not an immune suppressant per se.
Avatar f tn I pray to be nice and not let me say something mean especially towards my mom.I had a full hysterectomy in 2005 but was never prescribed any hormone pills. The doc said I didn't need any. I woke up this morning wanting to cry for no reason. Yesterday I spoke to my daughter about maybe needing a chill pill. Im tired of feeling like this. Could it be that I need those hormones now to balance me out?
Avatar m tn s cancer is 6 mm invasive ductal carcinoma cancer grade 3, positive estrogen, positve progesterone, her-2/neu neg, MIB-1 high @ 28% cental nodes neg, mammostrat test sent-high risk greater than 20% incendence distance metastatic over next 10 years. We are having a hard time understand what her risk are. She has had a complete mastectomy and chem, therapy. Doctors are wanting to do a hysterectomy also. Any help understanding the diagnoses will be appreciated. Thanks.
Avatar f tn I’m 47, I had a complete hysterectomy 6 years ago (both overdoes, filopion tubes, uterus) due to endometriosis. I have not done any HRT but have had the hardest time with anxiety, hot flashes, brain fog, fatigue, achy joints. Is it pointless to start HRT now 6 years later?
1100598 tn?1413127426 At least most of my hormone deficiency symptoms are relieved with estrogen. With your BC history, will you be able to take estrogen since your BC was triple negative? But there is no treatment to "fix" the anatomical and skeletal effects of hysterectomy (uterus removal). Many women complain of bladder and bowel changes including incontinence or constipation. The risk of these changes tends to increase as the years progress since the bladder and bowel fall after hysterectomy.
