Common Questions and Answers about Hysterectomy endometriosis cyst

hysterectomy

Avatar n tn Other than maybe cyst. In order to accurately dx or treat endo you need a laproscopic surgery. Good luck.
Avatar f tn Is it the sign of resolving cyst. Hope my cyst size reduces. So iam worried. Shall I go for hysterectomy immediately or I can wait till October because my daughter has vacation that time. Avatar f tn I also have had endometriosis for 20 years. Can the ovarian cyst be causing rib pain? My ribs, back and abdomen hurt on my right side. The pain is almost unbearable. I feel it constantly. I also have bouts of constipation and diarrhea. I've also gained weight. I'm scheduled for a hysterectomy in a month but I'm not sure I can wait that long. Is all this normal? I feel like I'm going crazy.
Avatar f tn unfortunately if it's endometriosis the only way to get rid of it is to cut out the disease at the root....I too had a hysterectomy with ovaries removed and continued to have endometriosis destroy my pelvis...it was everywhere...I lost half my colon, part of an adrenal gland, my gallbladder, appendix...it has been up my ureter and on my bladder...all after having had a complete hysterectomy...
Avatar f tn I am glad for this shorter time frame even if it means I will need a hysterectomy at a later date-I just want the cyst OUT! I have been experiencing an ongoing dull ache in the area of my rt ovary-it feels almost like a mild cramp. This is relatively new-maybe the last week or two. I'm not sure if it is psychosomatic or if it indicates the cyst is growing or changing in some way. I have also been spotting preety much daily since my last period which was two weeks ago.
Avatar f tn I am 33 and was diagnosed with Stage IV endometriosis, I had a complex ovarian cyst, an endometrioma, and a rectovaginal cyst as well. When they went in the reason that the cyst was showing up as complex I think was because they couldnt find my ovaries and my CT scan and ultrasound scans missed that my ovaries and tubes were wrapped around my uterus making it look like a 10cm cyst. My CA-125 was 78 but that also shows I had inflammation in abdominal cavity.
Avatar f tn I want to recommend, crwstar, if you have any endometriosis, ask them to excise, not laser burn. I did this for my hysterectomy, but was burned when I didn't know it with the first laporotomy. I later learned that it is better to cut than to burn, because the body treats the burns like foreign bodies and more scarring can happen. Adhesions are no fun.
Avatar m tn I had 2 endometriomas that were approximately 10cm each in size , endometriosis , fibroids and had a hysterectomy the path lab found clear cell carcinoma from endometriosis that had transformed into malignancy. Maybe if you have a couple of gynaelogical problems going on your doctor feels that removing the cyst now will prevent problems later if it grows . I would ask your doctor these questions before agreeing to any surgery .
Avatar f tn I’ve been worried it could be something more serious but, the thought also occurred to me today that it might be the endometriosis since a hysterectomy never really cures it. I haven’t had any pain or issues since the hysterectomy 3 years ago until now. My question is, is there anyone else out there who also had a hysterectomy but experiences endo pain??? If so, was it similar to what I’m describing?? Thanks in advance for your help!!
1087187 tn?1256595051 HI There, yes , that can happen. Bleeding into a cyst of ovulation can sometimes look very dramatic . It can also look like endometriosis. Now that the report has come back showing no sign of endometriosis or cancer, it would be safe to start a low dose estrogen replacement. Reports (The Women's Health Initiative (WHI)) suggest this is safe to do into your sixties.
Avatar n tn That can be caused by many things including ovarian cyst, endometriosis. It is best when having pain in that area to contact your GYN and make an appt. with them.
Avatar f tn It's hard to say. It could be a cyst. It could be endometriosis. Or any number of other things. An ultrasound may be a good idea. Let us know what you find out.
Avatar f tn Hello ladies, I come to you from the ovarian cyst forum. On March 30th, I had a laporascopy to have my two ovarian cysts removed (both on the left ovary). However, during the surgery my gynecologist discovered that one of my cysts had dissapeared (either reabsorbed or ruptured) and that my other cyst was twisted. On top of this she found a "small amount of endometriosis that was treated". I don't have a post-op until June 1st because I will out of province.
Avatar f tn 36 year old female who has had a full hysterectomy in 2015 and a subsequent procedure to remove scar tissue and adhesions that was causing pain in 2016. I started having abdominal pain again several months back. Primary care physician referred me to a GI specialist. GI performed an endoscopy to rule at a GI issue. Endo was negative. Visited OB/GYN for normal checkup. OB performed transvasional ultrasound which showed a 2 x 5 x 2 CM mass in my pelvis.
Avatar n tn During the surgery, they discovered that I had extensive endometriosis. After recovering at home, two months later, I had an MRI because I was experiencing severe abdominal pains. I developed another cyst 13cm on my left ovary. My doctor suggests that I get a hysterectomy. I do not want to try any medications because I feel that they will only mask the problem and eventually I will have to deal with it. I have two children, and don't plan on having additional children.
Avatar f tn June 2013 Partial hysterectomy where my uterus only was removed. Several months of daily bleeding and pain prior. Endometriosis was suspected prior, but doctor's notes say there was no endometriosis. April 2017 A complex 3 cm left ovarian cyst is probably physiological, but may be the cause for pain. Given the complexity, a follow-up with pelvic ultrasound is recommended in 6 weeks. Aug 2017 Pelvic ultrasound revealed 3.2cm complex cyst on left ovary.
Avatar f tn I just had a partial hysterectomy due to a VERY large Hem-ridging, blood filled cyst also EXTREME endometriosis. I have to go on a shot once a month and birth control to help slow down the growing and spreading of my major endometriosis, if we don't get it under control my OB said I will have to have a complete hysterectomy. also we have to stop my periods for awhile. I was wondering if anyone can relate to this, what your experiences were and if I can still have kids.
Avatar f tn I actually went in to have a cyst removed, but the cyst had already ruptured, but they found endometriosis. I have hurt and hurt and I still hurt. I go tomorrow to my ob to discuss further options. At my 2 week post op, he mentioned about the Lupron shot which I do NOT want to take for various reasons. I hurt mainly on my right ovary, but when he did the lap. he said my ovaries looked fine.

Avatar f tn I have stage IV endo. I was diagnosed at 25 by a fertility specialist. I have had to different surgeries to remove the scar tissue, endo & cyst. I was not successful with the fertility treatments and we moved forward with adoption as our option for our family. Seven yrs ago I went to my gyno and asked for a hysterectomy. He then recommended the IUD, which at the time was still a trial for treating women with endo.
Avatar n tn I felt so much better after my hysterectomy until they gave me lupron for a cyst on my right ovary and they gave me Lupron, now I would get a very good second opinion from an excellent physician like I went to texas and saw a doctor there . You can look up Dr. Redwine on the net he deals with endometriosis but you better beleive if I had it all to do over again I would have gone to him.
Avatar f tn Im 26 and have endometriosis anf ovarian cyst on my right ovary. I also have a heart shaped uterus. I have been dealing with extreme pain for about 3 years now and am considering having my uterus and right ovary removed. By the way i got my tubes tied to answer any questions about children i have 2. My question is how will it affect my sex drive and my hormones? Will i do in to menopause with the removal of one ovary?
Avatar m tn Because of how many surgeries I have had down their the dr was worried about scar tissue and chose to remove fluid from the cyst instead of removing the cyst. At 5 years later they found a second cyst right next to the 1st one. So far they wont do anything for it now I changed hospitals to mayo clinic and hopefully they will remove the cysts. Its possible tho I could have a third one. I took a year off of the hrt to find out the cyst still grew without hormones.
Avatar f tn Hi new to this guys after 14 years endometriosis had hysterectomy last year and still having multiple cysts on ovaries,3 weeks ago had rupchured cyst, but yet again 2 weeks latter multtiple cysts thinking of having ovaries out as in to much pain has anyone had this done after partial hysterectomy look forward to comments.
Avatar f tn For instance if you have completed your family and your have severe endometriosis, a full hysterectomy and removal of the ovaries and fallopian tubes is curative However sometimes pain is not gynecological but rare from a bowel disorder such as colitis. so the first thing is getting a diagnosis. here is a link on endometriosis best wishes http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.
Avatar n tn I am 40 years old and had a hysterectomy 2 years ago. The hysterectomy was because of Stage 4 endometriosis. I have had endometriosis since I was 19 years old, have had 2 laporatomies and 7 laparoscopies. When I had my hysterectomy, they were able to leave my right ovary. Two weeks ago I had acute pain in right lower abdomen and went to ER thinking appendicitis. US revealed a mass over 8 CM.
