hysterectomy

Avatar f tn Thank you for your input. Yes I had my ovaries removed also. I am going to check it out with my doctor soon. Today, I had very little pain in my back but some days it is almost unbearable in the morning.
725741 tn?1245086607 wow we have something in common Im getting pimples since my hysterectomy too, Your not having pms symptoms your having post hysterectomy symptoms...very similar..I use Sea Breeze an alcolol based ski cleaner with a cotton ball solved my problem. Very very often for reasons unknown the uterus removal effects ovarian function by decreasing it.
Avatar f tn I am scheduled for a Total Hysterectomy in mid-April. Initally when I decided to do the procedure I thought it would be a permenant birth control solution and give me seven days of my life back a month. However, I've done some research and have begun to question my decision. There are a lot of horor stories out there. I am also unsure about the research because the sample sizes are often so small in the studies.
Avatar m tn Ultrasound shows varicose veins through out my pelvic area along with a small polyp and one small fibroid tumor. My endometrial wall is 10mm and one of my ovaries could not be seen. I'm scheduled for an endometrial biopsy tomorrow, but I'm concerned to what all this means. I also would like some advice on what to talk to my doctor about, future MRI or CT scan, certain blood work, or maybe hysterectomy. This is the second scare I have had in the last year with all this menopause.
Avatar f tn they were collapsing my colon, thus I was Dx. with Irritable Bowel Syndrome, but it was all due to adhesions from my radical hysterectomy. Please find my journal entry on Surgical adhesions and read or print it and read. If your doctor gives you the go-ahead to try this type of deep massage, it just may be the answer. It is like a well-kept secret and I cannot tell you how many women seem to suffer from this problem. It was an exercise coach who literally saved me!
Avatar f tn I am 35 and recently undergone hysterectomy operation and two ovaries are left. The cause for this is uterine fibroid and a nabothian cyst in the uretus and right hydrosalpingitis. My Dr. told me if I want to keep my uterus, i need to undergo surgery of uterus removal after some time. Hence, I requested her to remove uterus as I had already undergone caesarian. Now, I am afraid will I need any hormonal tests ? How do I survive ? Will I get a menopause or any side effects.
Avatar f tn it took me a full year after all my major surgeries (one being complete open abdomen hysterectomy with ovaries removed) the first time I had the nerve stuff I did not understand what was going on and it scared me A LOT...but now many surgeries under my belt this is all part of the healing of the nerves and muscles...I do have PN issues but that is only because of the extensive damage from endometriosis and surgery...I have so far just learned to live with it...on good days it's not too bad..
Avatar n tn I had a vag hysterectomy with A&P repair 3 weeks ago and still have a watery, fishy discharge. They told me it is gardnerella and want me to take clindamycin. I am opposed to antibiotics and have used alternative & homeopathy for the past 15 yrs. I do not have any other symptoms other than the discharge. I am taking probiotics and echinacea with golden seal. Is there anything else I can do to prevent having to take the antibiotic? Thank you.
Avatar f tn But if you and your S/O have discussed it and you are done having children and your Ob suggest it because of the health complications that are being caused then I would go forward with it. I know its scary because what if you all decide you want another baby because you are so young. If you are a spiritual person, I suggest praying about it and maybe mention it to you pastor or spiritual leader. Have them pray with you and ask God to lead you and guide you in the right direction.
Avatar f tn Ladies who undergone hysterectomy or similar procedure, and happy with your surgeon, please help me with referrals! I would prefer Cedars Sinai, but any feedback or suggestions will be appreciated!
Avatar f tn On feb 18 I had partial hysterectomy with complications they tore my bladdar, uterus and ovaries gone and so is my libido. My doctor has put me on eemt hs and estrasta, but its not working. I still get tried easily my memory is off. And from time to time I have pain in pelvic floor. I still feel soreness where my ovaries were I've gain gain weight Doctor say it all will get better with time. But I can't tell. Is ALL THIS NORMAL?
Avatar n tn Depends on the reason for a hysterectomy. The ovaries are usually left because it delays menopause but if cancer is involved then ovaries will also be removed.
Avatar n tn My surgeon says we should just wait and watch the numbers. My GP says the oncologist thinks I should have the ovaries removed and or hysterectomy. I am 44 years old and do not have endometriosis, but a long history of abnormal bleeding with pain. The recovery from my surgery has had some complications- such as infection and much pain. I wonder if anyone has had their CA 125 levels do this with no sign of cancer. Also, I have had CT, MRI and ultrasound- awaiting results.
19592380 tn?1480606612 ve connected with since my hysterectomy 10 years ago were not told any of the following information. Be aware that some hysterectomy forums censor negative posts so you cannot completely count on those. The uterus has anatomical, skeletal, hormonal and sexual functions. It is an "anchor" for the bladder and bowel and also separates them.
Avatar n tn Either way, if your breast cancer is hormone receptor positive, then hormone therapy would likely be recommended as the body does produce estrogen outside of the ovaries. You should discuss with your doctor what drug might be best for you.
Avatar f tn PVH-Partial Vaginal Hysterectomy, even abdominal procedure, still the risk factors and complications remain more or less the same. Post surgical complications are pain, bleeding, infection.Other side effects of surgery are Hormonal changes (preserved ovaries?) estrogen imbalance, decreased testosterone-finally emotional changes of mood swings-Increased risk of cardiovascular and skeletomuscular diseases.
Avatar f tn My MD is fantastic, and has offered many options but it seems my best ones are either a) hysteroscopic myomectomy with HTA endometrial ablation, or b) laparoscopic DaVinci hysterectomy. Of course, I can't decide! On the one hand, with multiple fibroids, some of which are actively bleeding, the recurrence rate is high once they are cut out, and I am likely still many years away from menopause hysterectomy seems like an appealing final solution to my problems.
Avatar f tn Has anyone had there ovaries removed with there hysterectomy? If so, how do you feel emotionally with menopause and do you know how long menopause lasts?
3799778 tn?1348335625 I had a total hysterectomy in Jun of 2012 because of complications, they also put in a bladder sling. I was 31 at the the time, now only three months later I am developing numerous cysts on the one ovary that was left and they are blood filled and keep rupturing causing a lot of pain. ( the doc also surgically removed a previous cyst on the remaining ovary) Now the obgyn put me on Errin which is an androgen to see if the cysts shrink.
285896 tn?1237211227 Err---I didn't mean TOTAL hysterectomy. I was referring to the partial (leaving the ovaries) so you don't have to take hormone replacement meds.
1743340 tn?1311200996 I had a partial hysterectomy in 2004 with the placement of a mesh/sling for a prolapsed bladder. In 2008, a CT revealed a 2.5cm cyst on the left ovary and a 3.1cm cyst & a dominant mass. I had everything, including my ovaries, removed at that point. I've since underwent several proceedures (mesh repair, partial mesh removal, rectocill, cystosill, colposcopies, etc..) all begining with severe pain, abnormal pap results, etc.
