Avatar f tn Help!!! I have history of many prior abdominal surgeries, and then a hyst, and now I am told I have adhesions due to many pelvic surgeries. History of PCOD BAD! Endometriosis, hysterectomy in 05'. Now my stomach feels like it is on fire, I have to burp and pass gas alot. Could adhesions be causing this? What could this be? I don't know if a surgeon or any dr will treat me, as I dont have any insurance, and dont have SSI or Medicaid yet. Can these adhesions be life threatening?

Avatar f tn t even heard of it until this pregnancy! I read on the nhs website that they only test/treat women at risk. Have any UK ladies been tested? I'm scared as keep reading stuff about it!!
Avatar m tn I had a salpingo oopherectomy on both sides, a hysterectomy as well as a appendectomy on February 5th 2013. I am 27 years old. Since the procedure was done I have had severe lower abdominal pain while urinating. I have been very sick. Does anyone have an idea of what this pain is from?
Avatar f tn Most people actually do have complications with an abdominal cut hysterectomy, and laporoscopy.
Avatar f tn It is likely to be just a coincidence that you have developed symptoms post your hysterectomy. Diabetes is a chronic disease and complications are unlikely to develop over a few weeks or months and alternative possibilities to the cause of your symptoms may need to be considered. I would suggest getting this evaluated by a primary care physician initially and depending on the cause diagnosed/ suspected, it can be managed accordingly or specialist care may be sought. Hope this is helpful.
Avatar f tn Hi- Just wondering if anyone out there had any complications post total hysterectomy? I had mine 3 months ago due to several cysts again! Paternal grandma died of ovarian cancer at age 50. I had 15 years of cysts, and a total of 8 laporosopies. I am not even 40 yet! Any how, at my 8 wk check up my oncologist said everything was fine, no infection, no cancer, etc., I can try having sex with my husband. We did everything was fine.

Avatar f tn Yes you do, here in the UK we have the nhs so we don't have to pay, but other countries like US don't have nhs they have health insurance instead so, like with our car insurance, if u don't have insurance or ur insurance doesn't cover it then u have to pay
725741 tn?1245086607 wow we have something in common Im getting pimples since my hysterectomy too, Your not having pms symptoms your having post hysterectomy symptoms...very similar..I use Sea Breeze an alcolol based ski cleaner with a cotton ball solved my problem. Very very often for reasons unknown the uterus removal effects ovarian function by decreasing it.
482924 tn?1333203671 Please, please, please do not just rush into a hysterectomy! I was forced into one at the age of 27 and my life has never been the same since. For one I almost died from the sugery and for two, there is a very long list of major complications/illness' that come with a hysterectomy. Some doctor's push for a hysterectomy because they make good money from them and will continue making more money off of you, because of the side affects and complications.
1053613 tn?1255987994 Has anyone had their hysterectomy by robotics? Im having the robotics hysterectomy on Dec. 30 and was wondering how the recovery has been for someone who has that type of surgery.

The most common serious complications were related to the incision or urinary tract problems. Avatar n tn I have been experiencing severe pain and discomfort from a combination of ovarian cysts and fibroids for 3 years now. I was treated with birth controls pills and then steroids and nothing has worked. I just got back the results of my most recent ultrasound. I have 2 cysts on an ovary and 2 fibroids. The doctor has talked to me about a myomectomy option vs. hysterectomy for the fibroid removal. I don't know which way to go on this.
Avatar f tn Also, what are the possible complications of internal genital warts (other than discomfort during intercourse)?
Avatar f tn I also am a RN and I find it appauling that the surgeon handled your hysterectomy in that way. I am curious about your age and have you had children yet because surely the MD should have taken that into condsideration and discussed that issue with your husband as well. I also am not sure about the laws for informed consent when a procedure is heading a different direction; I assume the MD was within the bounds of the law by calling your husband?
Avatar f tn I HAD HYSTERECTOMY THREE WEKS AGO, I JUST HAD INTERCOURSE WITH MY HUSBAND EVEN THOU HE WAS REAL CAREFUL, AFTER HE CAME IN ME I FELT LIKE I WAS SWOLLEN AND IN PAIN, IS THIS NORMAL, CAUSE THE DR SAID NO SEX FOR 8 WEEKS AND WE ONLY EAITED 4, QUESTION CAN THER BE A FATAL COMPLICATIONS AFTER THIS.
Avatar f tn It was the wrong conclusion and I have paid the price. My complications were not related to your NHS but I think this website is a good place to inform ones self.
Avatar n tn I have a partially torn acl and want to get back into high impact sport but my physiotherapist and OS are both against reconstruction because of the potential complications. This isn't just NHS but private as well. It made me wonder if acl reconstruction is less successful in the UK because the NHS doesn't like to pay for it and therefore pts don't get as much experience dealing with aclr patients.
Avatar f tn PVH-Partial Vaginal Hysterectomy, even abdominal procedure, still the risk factors and complications remain more or less the same. Post surgical complications are pain, bleeding, infection.Other side effects of surgery are Hormonal changes (preserved ovaries?) estrogen imbalance, decreased testosterone-finally emotional changes of mood swings-Increased risk of cardiovascular and skeletomuscular diseases.
Avatar f tn It's natural to be scared of surgery. If you are not feeling reassured when you talk to the surgeon, if you are in America you can get a second opinion. It doesn't sound like avoiding surgery is wise. The best treatment I have had has been from surgeons, but I have chosen my surgeons very carefully. That's not to say there can't be complications, but the more unhealthy you are and the more dramatic the condition, the more likely you will have complications.
Avatar n tn Do adhesions from a Hysterectomy get worse or cause future complications if not surgically corrected or is it just to help the pain? Should this be performed by a surgeon or the GYN doctor who performed the Hysterectomy? Thank you!
Avatar f tn If so, how was ur experience and did u have any complications? my doctor says I might need a hysterectomy and im terrified of just the thought of it.
Avatar f tn Hi there, I had went to have a scan two weeks ago for kidney stones but the results that I got were not as expected. I had a hysterectomy two years ago but they left my ovaries. I have multiple cysts on my left ovary they can't find the right one, which is where I have a lot of pain, and I have fluid in my abdominal cavity. I had thought nothing of it as they told me they would refer me to gyne.
