Avatar f tn Hi- Just wondering if anyone out there had any complications post total hysterectomy? I had mine 3 months ago due to several cysts again! Paternal grandma died of ovarian cancer at age 50. I had 15 years of cysts, and a total of 8 laporosopies. I am not even 40 yet! Any how, at my 8 wk check up my oncologist said everything was fine, no infection, no cancer, etc., I can try having sex with my husband. We did everything was fine.
Avatar f tn Help!!! I have history of many prior abdominal surgeries, and then a hyst, and now I am told I have adhesions due to many pelvic surgeries. History of PCOD BAD! Endometriosis, hysterectomy in 05'. Now my stomach feels like it is on fire, I have to burp and pass gas alot. Could adhesions be causing this? What could this be? I don't know if a surgeon or any dr will treat me, as I dont have any insurance, and dont have SSI or Medicaid yet. Can these adhesions be life threatening?
301354 tn?1211810520 procedure can still result in complications - such as death. Please make sure this surgery is the best thing for you and not just retaliation against your husband. That, dear, would not be healthy. Best of luck to you.

Avatar m tn I had a salpingo oopherectomy on both sides, a hysterectomy as well as a appendectomy on February 5th 2013. I am 27 years old. Since the procedure was done I have had severe lower abdominal pain while urinating. I have been very sick. Does anyone have an idea of what this pain is from?
Avatar f tn Most people actually do have complications with an abdominal cut hysterectomy, and laporoscopy.
Avatar f tn It is likely to be just a coincidence that you have developed symptoms post your hysterectomy. Diabetes is a chronic disease and complications are unlikely to develop over a few weeks or months and alternative possibilities to the cause of your symptoms may need to be considered. I would suggest getting this evaluated by a primary care physician initially and depending on the cause diagnosed/ suspected, it can be managed accordingly or specialist care may be sought. Hope this is helpful.
Avatar f tn Good Morning, My mother is 60 years old, diagnosed in April 2002 with stage IIIC Ovarian Cancer - which a complete hysterectomy and 6 months of Taxol/Carboplatin cured. In 2005, she was also diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (stage 0 - no treatment was needed apparently). A retroperitoneal mass (originally measuring 8cmx5cm) was discovered in June 2009 - and it was confirmed as a recurrance of her Ovarian Cancer, including lymph node involvement.
Avatar n tn Production of the immunoglobulin IgE is a potential cause of major illness (and even death) in man, but has persisted over the ages, probably because it provides a potent defence against parasitic infestation. Anaphylaxis is a term coined by Richet and Portier in 1902 as a direct challenge to the prevailing dogma that the immune system was always a good thing which guarded against attack (phylaxis).
442027 tn?1209866342 My advice is to not have a hysterectomy unless your situation is life or death!!! In my case, I had cancer so I had no choice. The hysterectomy saved my life but also ruined the life I have. I will never be the same. I cannot enjoy sex without feeling pain so my sex life is destroyed and that was a very important part of who I was. I am not the same person and am very unhappy. However, if you have pain that you are hoping to resolve through hysterectomy, maybe it will be different for you.
Avatar f tn There is very little that can be answered here. Post-mortum changes can occur after death, but significant heart enlargement likely occurs over time, prior to death, but the amount of time can be variable, depending upon the circumstances. Children can have structural deformities of the chest called "pectus" and it can be a "sunken" chest (pectus excavatum) or a protruding or "pigeon chest" (pectus carinatum).

Very very often for reasons unknown the uterus removal effects ovarian function by decreasing it.
482924 tn?1333203671 Please, please, please do not just rush into a hysterectomy! I was forced into one at the age of 27 and my life has never been the same since. For one I almost died from the sugery and for two, there is a very long list of major complications/illness' that come with a hysterectomy. Some doctor's push for a hysterectomy because they make good money from them and will continue making more money off of you, because of the side affects and complications.

Avatar n tn I have been experiencing severe pain and discomfort from a combination of ovarian cysts and fibroids for 3 years now. I was treated with birth controls pills and then steroids and nothing has worked. I just got back the results of my most recent ultrasound. I have 2 cysts on an ovary and 2 fibroids. The doctor has talked to me about a myomectomy option vs. hysterectomy for the fibroid removal. I don't know which way to go on this.
Avatar m tn (You can also contact a physician on the Ask a Doctor side of the forum, maybe check with the pregnancy category since the complications happened so soon after childbirth.) Situations like this are so complicated, getting the whole story from her health care providor may be difficult but if you let them know you truly need to understand so you can accept her passing, they might give you more information. Good luck, I hope everything is well with your child.
Avatar f tn I also am a RN and I find it appauling that the surgeon handled your hysterectomy in that way. I am curious about your age and have you had children yet because surely the MD should have taken that into condsideration and discussed that issue with your husband as well. I also am not sure about the laws for informed consent when a procedure is heading a different direction; I assume the MD was within the bounds of the law by calling your husband?
