hysterectomy

Avatar f tn Help!!! I have history of many prior abdominal surgeries, and then a hyst, and now I am told I have adhesions due to many pelvic surgeries. History of PCOD BAD! Endometriosis, hysterectomy in 05'. Now my stomach feels like it is on fire, I have to burp and pass gas alot. Could adhesions be causing this? What could this be? I don't know if a surgeon or any dr will treat me, as I dont have any insurance, and dont have SSI or Medicaid yet. Can these adhesions be life threatening?
Avatar n tn Do adhesions from a Hysterectomy get worse or cause future complications if not surgically corrected or is it just to help the pain? Should this be performed by a surgeon or the GYN doctor who performed the Hysterectomy? Thank you!
Avatar m tn I had a salpingo oopherectomy on both sides, a hysterectomy as well as a appendectomy on February 5th 2013. I am 27 years old. Since the procedure was done I have had severe lower abdominal pain while urinating. I have been very sick. Does anyone have an idea of what this pain is from?
675329 tn?1297288378 i have adhesions in my abdomen and neck from previous surgeries. i may need a hysterectomy and a thyroidectomy. will there be complications from my adhesions and won't i have More adhesions from these surgeries. the gyn wants to send me out of town to have my surgery on hysterectomy. he is afraid of complications. i cannot afford to go out of town.
Avatar f tn they want to do a hysterectomy but they are scared because of complications of adhesions. i am also monitoring a chestnut size nodule on my thyroid which i may need surgery. well, i have had surgeries on my neck as well. i guess i have adhesions there as well. surgery wasn't suggested for my thyroid yet but i may have to have surgery. i am so scared. has anyone gone through any of all of this.
Avatar n tn However absence of scar tissue does not mean that there are no adhesions. However these adhesions recur and cutting the adhesions can cause more adhesions to form. Hence a judicious decision is required regarding the approach to be taken. Certain herbs and mucolytic enzymes have been tried with variable success rates for this. Do discuss with your doctor. Take care!
Avatar m tn I had a full abdo hysterectomy 1 yr ago .
Avatar f tn Could adhesions cause temporary impingement on the bowel causing severe pain and constipation that spontaneously goes away in 1-2 days? Previous surgeries include hysterectomy and abdominal radiation for uterine cancer 40+ years ago, gallbladder surgery 30+ years ago and colon resection for cancer 10 years ago.
Avatar f tn Could the mass possibly be an ovarian remnant with a cyst? I don't know why it shows on u/s but not CT... very odd. Your pelvic pain could be recurring endometriosis and not adhesions. Plus surgery (even if it's to remove adhesions) will cause more adhesions... a catch-22. And it's difficult to remove all endo especially by surgeons who are not true endometriosis excision specialists.
Avatar n tn The treatment is is more surgery - hopefully laparscopic - but more surgery can lead to more adhesions, which puts you in a vicious circle of surgeries. Bowel adhesions are common after hysterectomy, and can cause terrible digestive problems by slowing transit time to the point of causing reflux, regurgitation or even a full bowel obstruction.
Avatar n tn I had a complete hysterectomy Oct 2012. I still have sooo much gas. It is not painful but why is this still happening? And it really embarrassing cause it is quite explosive and uncontrollable.
Avatar n tn Because of this, he was unable to move my uterus to look around for endo. The doctor had suggested a hysterectomy (but leaving my ovaries). My question is has anyone had this done and has it alleviated their pain? I've been having IBS symptoms and excrusiating cramping and abdominal pains (like when you have a bad bout of gas) but it's constant! They have done a colonoscopy to rule out intestinal problems along with a CT and MRI, all came back fine.
659607 tn?1247116266 I am 25 and had a total abdom. Hysterectomy in August of 07. I had everything removed, because I had cyst on everything and bad bleeding and pain. I healed well and I felt fine after. The bloating and swelling went away quickly, but now Im having sharp pains where my left overy use to be. and in the past few mths I have had 2 kidney infections. Is there anyone who has had this before?
1046985 tn?1305117048 That's not an easy decision to make. I completed menopause naturally at age 46 but it is considered on the young end of the time scale. All the same, if I can complete it naturally at that age, it's not an unreasonable age to lose ovaries. It seems the surgery is a worthwhile option, but it requires the most skillful surgeon you can get. I would be asking for a top gynecologist/oncologist as the primary with your gyn assisting.
Avatar f tn i have abdominal adhesions with a possible hysterectomy. i also have fibromyalgia depression and anxiety and a chestnut size nodule benign so far on my thyroid gland. how will they do all this. won't i get more adhesions. the pain of fibromyalgia with all of this will be unbearable. i am postmenopausal . i am a caregiver for my mother. i need to help her please help me. did anyone have these issues. thank you everyone.
Avatar n tn your doctor is wrong many women have a hysterectomy with adhesions my doctor had to peeel my bladder off of scar tissue and the peel my ovary off my bowle he sound slike he dont want to do te=he surgerie ...is he a very old doctor....perhaps not up on laproscopic hysterectomies?// thats the route you want to go faster recovery less invasinve...as for scaring you by saying he may ruptre bladder thats rotten and a ruptured bladder can be repaIRED.
Avatar n tn ADHESIONS, ADHESIONS, ADHESIONS.... I hear you. They typically do not show up on scans. I am in a rush, but will check later if you have questions. I have a huge article on the "health pages" section on the Ovarian cyst forum and on the Ovarian Cancer forum (patient to patient). It is listed as such, "Relief for Surgical Adhesions." My doctor told me there was nothing we could do about them. The pain was unbearable. Deeeeeep massage did the trick for me ....
3132354 tn?1342554562 I still have bowel issues and I am going for another surgery in December. It is a combination I think of Endo and Adhesions, but more Adhesions I think. Is the surgeon doing your surgeries a specialist in this disease? Do you live in Canada or the US? Are you too far away to see Dr,Redwine? I think if you have had that many surgeries the person was not skilled enough to do them. Do you know if they excised the Endo or did they use Laser?
Avatar f tn i am past menopause. the dr is going to do a complete hysterectomy on me. will i go through menopause again. how will i feel emotionally and physically. i have adhesions so they have to open me up. please help me. i have an ovarian cyst and a thickened endometrium.
Avatar n tn i am 65 years old and have had two severe bouts of diverticulitis in the past 9 months. surgery has been recommended, but i have had a hysterectomy and gallbladder removal in the past. is surgery appropriate even though there may be adhesions from the two prior surgeries? thank you. This discussion is related to Problems after surgery for diverticulitis.
435652 tn?1204311793 My GYN has wanted to do a hysterectomy for the past 5 years, I am 31 years old and decline. I figure a few cyst explosions a year is better than losing what I feel makes me a woman as I'd like to have another child. I cannot get pregnant the conventional way due to complications of a late-diagnosed ectopic pregnancy damaging my fallopian tubes. I'd like to do IVF but not for another year or two.
Avatar f tn YES... adhesions can surely grow back. I went through a most horrible time in my life from adhesions. The doctor discovered them during a colonoscopy (OUCH!!!!!) at which time they found the adhesions were collapsing my colon. The doctor said they would not do surgery to get rid of the adhesions since the result would only be more adhesions. My quality of life was horrible. PLEASE read my information on the Health Pages. I don't know if it is on this site or not.
Avatar m tn im 29yrs old and i had a hysterectomy 3 yrs ago,but for the last 2 months i have been getting very sharp pain just below my bikini line on the left handside.it can be unbareable at times.does anyone know what it could be.
