Common Questions and Answers about Hysterectomy back pain

hysterectomy

Avatar f tn I had a hysterectomy 2 months ago due to a severe case of endometriosis. I had a lot of back pain & I thought after I had a hysterectomy that pain would go away.....it hasn't yet. I was wondering if cymbalta would be good for my back pain? My lower back hurts a lot & I didn't know if they would complicate things. I just want some answers...maybe you can help.
Avatar f tn Hi, Are you taking any pain medications just to alleviate the pain while waiting for the sceduled scan? The CT scan will be able to guide your physician in terms of management. An infection and adhesions secondary to previous surgery and instrumentation need to be ruled out. Take this one step at a time. I know this may be very discomforting. You may discuss with your physician pain management issues while tests are being done.
Avatar f tn Back pain after hysterectomy seems to be common. Surgical positioning can cause it. I hope it doesn't last long!
Avatar n tn I had a hysterectomy at the age of 36. And yes, the back pain was related to my GYN problems; no cancer. Your CA 125 marker is probably elevated due to your uterine fibroids and cyst. I doubt this is any cancer.
178345 tn?1242536246 I know I have asked this before..I am experiencing lower back pain..just like before the hysterectomy...should I see my surgoen since it has been a year since my surgery??? I told my Gyn at the last visit she really didnt say much about it..it has been bothering me quite a bit..also if it is scar tissue or adhesions can they detect that through a sonogram or ct scan??? I am not sure what to do...Thanks for your help. Gia :) P.S. I have briefly heard of Ovarain Remnant Syndrome could it be that?
Avatar f tn I would classify the back pain as 6-7/10 and there 100% of my day. Nothing relieves the pain. They can not guarantee the pain will resolve but feel that a hysterectomy would take care of my other problems, while possibly relieving the pain. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
670782 tn?1242826727 Has anyone experienced mid to upper back and shoulder pain after a total hyst? It comes and goes and it radiates to my neck and shoulders and my arms feel weak. I get a headache with it. It goes away as fast as it comes..
314833 tn?1263259499 Hello all, So I had a hysterectomy 5 months ago. I just start having pain and feeling bloated. It's the same type of pain I would have if I was on my period but worse. Is this normal or what else could it be?
Avatar m tn i had a hysterectomy 2 weeks ago. i am still experiencinga lot of pain like the worst menstural cramps ever and it hurts really bad to use pressure to have a bowel movement. Is this normal??

Avatar n tn If i do get a hysterectomy will all my pain and bleeding stop for good. I also have polysystic ovaries so would i need a full hysterectomy? I've also heard about a procedure where the Dr can do something to the lining of your uterus, what is that and will it help any of my problems?
Avatar n tn He later tells me that there was blood on his penis. thinking that he pulled his skin back on his penis, that there is where the bleeding had come from. Well the following week we had sex and I was the one who was bleeding. He was not so it came from me. 2. Recently while having sex (its not rough) I have alot of discomfort. it is really painful. 3. Also I have been having a bloody discharge every month its pinkish but it is noticable when I look at my underwear.
Avatar n tn I had a hysterectomy in May-kept my ovaries. I am having severe pain in lower left pelvic area.
566073 tn?1219434819 At least you will only have one scar -- it shouldn't be any worse than the first time -- I actually didn't have as much pain from the hysterectomy as I was expecting. Just listen to the doctors and take it easy.
Avatar f tn Finally in June of 2006, I had a complete hysterectomy. I was still in pain and in october of that same year, I start bleeding again. I had to be rushed to the hotspital where I had an emergency surgery take out the rest of something that was left inside of me. The dr promised me that everythiIng was removed and I was going to be fine. Well the pain continued after the surgery, and I could not go the bathroom. Now I had another problem. I suffered for 10 months.
Avatar f tn i had severe diverticulitis last November, with 7 day hospital stay. Things haven't felt right since. Infection gone but after colonoscopy last week, Gi doc says he couldn't get past recto sigmoid junction, so virtual colonoscopy next week. All of my other colonoscopies have been fine . Biopsies done . All normal. I have bladder discomfort and back pain. I'm assuming I now have adhesions. Have had hysterectomy in 2007 and further prolapse surgery in 2015.
Avatar f tn I have been on birth control pills for the last 10 years with hope of controlling the growth of my endo. I am still in pain, during intercourse, as well as everyday cramping, and lower back pain. I talked to doctor and she suggested an abdominal hysterectomy. Should I do this? Will it really help?? I have tried lupron, and had two laprascopies with removal of adhesions as well as countless chocolate cysts.
Avatar f tn Sorry for the late response. Surgical positioning can cause back as well as leg pain and problems. I'm curious what type of hysterectomy you had - robotic, laparoscopic, abdominal, vaginal? Has the back pain improved?
Avatar n tn jdotters, I'm sorry you've been suffering with back pain since your hysterectomy. Unfortunately (although women aren't told), hysterectomy destroys pelvic integrity because they have to cut the pelvic ligaments which are the support structures that keep the spine, hips and rib cage (as well as the uterus) where they belong. So the midsection collapses after surgery. That's also why our figures change.
782368 tn?1244854467 Upon reading back over on my consent sheet doctor wrote removal of both tubes with uterus leaving ovaries for now.Today i am in allot ob back pain and uterine pain pressure so i think this is the right decision for me.Again thank you for taking the time to write to me.Your help is very appreciated.
1510783 tn?1290096307 I was diagnosed after having so many tests done (ultrasound, lab work, Bioenema (?spelling) then the last test MRI with and without contrast. Thats when it showed up. My Dr. was very nice, and very determined to find out what was causing the pain (started back in Feb '10). She tried all alternatives before "Hyster" was the final option. I trust her completely and very safe with her. the pain is centered on my right side, and it radiates through my hip bone and leg.
Avatar f tn I had a hysterectomy 4 weeks ago still feel pain and I have brownish discharge is that normal ?
