I also had diarrhea after my hysterectomy and it was awful and lasted a long time (over a year) but my gyn / surgeon refused to see me (even though he'd been my doctor for 20 years). I didn't see another doctor (a gastroenterologist) until about 9 months post-op. I didn't know to take a probiotic... wish I'd done that starting immediately post-op. My bowels have never been normal since surgery.
Thanks am 27 years old when I got out of the hospital I had told them and they give me uti medication 3 different times and it's not going away. I have had 9 years and this is the first one that give me that kind of pain ...
I googled a search for trouble urinating after hysterectomy and found you guys. I too have the same problems, pain in abdomen that doubles me over and problems urinating, but i always feel i have to go. I am in the bathroom every few minutes trying to go. This is my second bout since my partial hysterectomy on 10-07-08. I was treated for a UTI even though my urine sample was negative.
Ever since full hysterectomy on May 9th 2018 I been having really bad pain in my lower tummy and in my vagina they had treated me three times for it since my surgery but I'm still having the really bad shooting pains even if I'm sitting down or walking I'll get them and when I'm trying to go pee I will get them so what do you think is causing it they traded me for a UTI and that didn't help
Regarding the sex drive.......While I was taking Effexor & Cymbalta there was NO sex drive. I quit taking them for that very reason. I didn't think the help with the menopause symptoms was worth the side effects. I had heard that flaxseed might help with the menopuse. Has anyone tried that?
I have had very painful interstital cystitis since 2003. I am currently 42. I have 4 sons-ages 22,19,18,& 15. Before I got IC, I was kind of like a super woman....I owned my own biz, ran a successful fitness company. Not to sound stuck up, but, part of my business was being in great physical shape- I was the picture of health. Everyone used to tell me how beautiful I was-back then, i didn't really care, -i thought- but it was sure nice to hear all the compliments.
I had a full hysterectomy 3 years ago and suffer sever pain during urination to upper and mid abdominal area beginning since hysterectomy and progressing to more severe since hysterectomy. It only hurts during urination. I mentioned it to my OBGYN that I see regularly but he had no suggestions or comments. Any suggestions?

I am posting to you due to having a cystocele and suspected enterocele and wonder how you are and if you have had surgery for you reported problems in the above posting. I realise your posted a long time ago but not many people seem to report about enteroceles and I did feel you sounded as though you had one from your post.

I SPOKE TO DOCTOR AND HE SAID IT COULD BE THE URETHRA NARROWING MAY NEED DILATATION..
About a week back , I was experiencing symptoms that are typically characterized with UTI (lower abdominal/ pelvic pain, blood in urine, and irritability and pain during urination). I went to the Urgent Care doctor and the doctor prescribed an antibiotic Ciprofloxacn 250 mg, ten pills to take twice daily for a period of five days.
You have to be sure where the blood is coming from. Did your Dr do a urine test and that's how they found out you had a UTI? Was there blood in your urine? I'm a little surprised your Dr could'nt tell where it was coming from if she did an internal exam. If I remember correctly, I bled for over a week after my hysterectomy. Not heavy but some spotting. If this keeps up for a couple more days you need to get back in to see your Dr. We're here to help any way we can.
Hi, I had a hysterectomy (removal of all tubes, left ovary and uterus) Oct 2010. They found I was loaded with endometriosis, removed several fibroids, and various cysts. No cancer found. I, like yourself, had lower left groin pain that radiated to my butt so I made an appt thinking scar tissue. They immediately did a vaginal u/s in the office and confirmed a 5 cm complex cyst.
Hi there. I have ovarian cysts and need to get operated. In my opinion, you should get checked since you have bloating and the need to urinate, and you don't have a UTI since it's not normal and can be related to the ovaries. I had a transvaginal ultrasound and a CA - 125 (cancer marker) and based on that my doctor, who is an oncologist and has known me for many years, recommended the surgery. So, I think you should get another opinion and get checked. Hope for the best.
Over the years i have had several kidney infections and this isnt a kidney infection. Before he tested me for uti i told him it wasnt a uti but he was for sure it was and the urine test proved it wasnt. How do i go about finding a gyno specialist? Because at this point the urologist thinks its post op and im sure when i see the gyno tuesday thats what he is going to say. I know these doctors are thinking its all in my head but its not im in pain and something is not right.
i had my operation for total hysterectomy 15 days ago and so far all seems to be progressing well except i'm experancing severe groin pain. and i can find nothing in books on recovery about this . is this normal>?
Is it common for spot bleeding after a partial hysterectomy. I had my hysterectomy back in July 2009 and this past month I had 2 incidents to where I was bleeding but not heavy.
I had an abd hysterectomy in 2003, had endometrioses, had a cyst removed in 2004 on ovaria, cyst again in 2005, and a cyst again in 2006 then they removed cyst and both ovaries, just to start with the same pain over lower back an abdomen about 3 months ago, what can it be, I am to scared to go to the gynae. About a month and a half ago I went to the dr for what I though was a yeast infection and a UTI. I was told is was a slight yeast infection and a UTI. Two weeks later I was getting worse. My stomach had a burning sensation, I burned when urinating and my discharge was getting thicker and heavier. I then went back to the dr and was told it appeared that I might have herpes. She went to take a swab but because I have had a hysterectomy it would be hard to get a culture.
3 c sections along with a tubal on my last c section. and 1 DNC. I have a history of bladder, kidney and UTI infections. I also have a Rare disease called Osteogenesis Imperfecta, which is a brital bone disease but also effects other things.
This morning I woke up with very bad cramping and when I went to the bathroom, I had A LOT of black/or very dark brown discharge, it was almost period flow ( thats how heavy it was ) and my stomach is still cramping bad and the discharge is still there.
