Avatar f tn I was prescribed a 5 day dose Supra twice daily and to drink 12 glasses of water a day. I am on day 5 and I still have a feeling of urgency to pee. I have an uncomfortable feeling in my bladder/urethra but no pain when I urinate just the urgency. My pee does not come out in a strong stream but a moderate stream. No pain in my kidneys. Any thoughts on what this might be? .
Avatar n tn The presence of urinary symptoms may require further evaluation of the urinary tract. Urgency and decrease urine flow may suggest an infection or an obstruction. A urinalysis, urine culture, kidney, ureter and bladder scans may help rule out an infection or urinary tract stones. Kidney stones leading to kidney infections may lead to fever, nausea and vomiting. I suggest you seek immediate consult since you may need oral medications. Do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn I understand your concerns. Any time you put something foreign in the body, it can cause long-term problems. Granted some do not have problems with surgical mesh. But those who do can suffer horribly and it typically cannot be completely removed. Also, hysterectomy has its own set of problems since the uterus has life long non-reproductive functions. Have you considered or tried a pessary to suspend your bladder and uterus? There are various types and they have to be fitted.
Avatar f tn PVH-Partial Vaginal Hysterectomy, even abdominal procedure, still the risk factors and complications remain more or less the same. Post surgical complications are pain, bleeding, infection.Other side effects of surgery are Hormonal changes (preserved ovaries?) estrogen imbalance, decreased testosterone-finally emotional changes of mood swings-Increased risk of cardiovascular and skeletomuscular diseases.
Avatar f tn I am a 23 year old woman, and have had problems with my digestive and urinary systems for years. I was diagnosed with IBS in 2007, given Bentyl and Levsin and told to just deal with it. I never liked this diagnosis because I am extremely healthy, in a great happy marriage, have no anxiety symptoms, deal with stress well, and lead a very balanced life. At first, my symptoms were manageable, but I definitely had some hard times- diarrhea out of no where, constipation, nausea, etc.
Avatar n tn I am a 50 year old woman. I had a hysterectomy one year and nine months ago and I have had urinary problems developing progressively since then. I have to get up during the night, usually three times, sometimes only twice and I feel the need to urinate very frequently during the day, even though there isn't much to pass. I don't have a urinary tract infection as this has been checked.
Avatar f tn I keep having urinary tracrt infections. I get rid of one and within a few weeks to a month I get another one. I drink plenty of water, cranberry juice and drink 1 root beer a day. I am going to make an appointment with my Uroligist Monday but until then I was wanting to know what possibly could be causing this?
Avatar n tn As your symptoms suggest of burning sensation while passing urine, it is more commonly due to urinary tract infections and sexually transmitted diseases. Because kidney and ureter stones are accompanied by pain that goes upto the loin. There could also be changes in the stream of urine. Is this the first time you are having this? Or previously suffered from same kind of symptoms? In any case it is advised to get a urine examination done and an ultrasound.
1128665 tn?1269273471 I speak with women all the time who tell me that they are told they need a hysterectomy and once they see a urogynecologist, they find out that pelvic organ prolapse is the problem and they can have some control over the choices of surgical or non-surgical treatment options. Of course this does not mean that all women having problems in their pelvic cavities have POP, but since our areas overlap I think our communities will complement each other well.
Avatar f tn I am 47 and had a vaginal hysterectomy 3/2014 they removed cervix and uterus due to 6 lbs of tumors. Since my surgery I have had a bad odor and pain with first morning urination. Should I be concerned?

Yesterday I started discharging a brown discharge, it has a slight smell, and I am in such severe pain that it hurts to even drive. Avatar f tn does anyone know if i could have a urinary infection without testing positive for one and if so how bad could the infection be if untreated for 8 years. i would appreciate all opinions.
Avatar n tn Altthough the Lupron shot did cease my pevlice pain, once off for a month the pain returned and is constant. My Dr. is recommending a total hysterectomy and I am not sure what to do or if there are any other options. Your opinion and recommendations are greatly appreciated.
222282 tn?1210164939 my sil had a hyterectomy today for ovarian cancer and the have cut her ureter ,what are the possibilites here and will she have to have a nepheretomy ?
Avatar n tn Hi, was it a hysterectomy and ovary removal? Check your ovaries and fallopian tubes if they are still in. And yes, your walls do thin over time, if it is painful and continues, tell your doctor, might be thin enough to effect your bladder and uretha type areas. The doc can help if that is the case. Good luck!

973741 tn?1342342773 It's such a pain in the rear, isn't it? I like to do an exercise class . . . and I have to be super careful I don't embarrass myself. There I admit it! Maybe it is because I'm older too but I did NOT have this problem until I had kids. And I had my kids at an older age too. How do you handle it? I have my own strategy. I'll share if you will.
Avatar n tn Hello, Everyone I had a laproscopic hysterectomy on 6-02-09 and home 3 days now, I was able to keep my ovaries, but during surgery my surgeon stated that he had nicked my bladder cause of the tumor that was in my uterus had started to attach it self to my bladder, so I was sent home from the hospital with a foley for a week.
