Hysterectomy and organisms

Common Questions and Answers about Hysterectomy and organisms

hysterectomy

I recall that a friend of mine sent flowers to her sister after her hysterectomy (can't recall what for, not cancer in this case, though) and on the card she wrote, "you are so lucky...no more periods" or something like that. Hey, it is not a bad side effect from the hysterectomy, but, gosh, there are so many reasons to keep your organs if they are healthy. I am sure you will talk with your doctor about this, though. Hang in there...
I'm 59, had a complete hysterectomy in '98 and in the last 8 months, started to have wonderful sex again after many 'dry' years. In fact, the first time trying brought me to tears from the pain ... so quickly took myself to my GYN who found a BV along with severe drying and thinning of vaginal walls ... (Vaginal atrophy) Girls, if you don't use it you lose it.
IGF-1 is a growth factor that speeds up protein synthesis and slows catabolism. Certain immune factors and antibodies also fight a variety of organisms, allergens, or toxins including pneumonia, candida, and flu. Constituent lactoferrin prevents pathogens from getting the iron they need to flourish. Lactalbumins and cytokines (interleukin and interferon) also are important as antivirals and anticancer agents.
for the last 6 months I have been getting tearing (look like paper cuts) in my vaginal area (1/4 to 1/2 inch long). I get the tears at least once or twice a week and they last from 2-4 days, go away for a few days and then come back. They continue to occur in the same locations; 1. Inside the vaginal lips on the sides almost always in the crease (between the labia minora and majora?) 2. Between the anus and vaginal opening (perineum) 3. Above the clitoris in the "hood" area.
All, this really ramped up after my hysterectomy 10 yrs ago, and had complications with that and nerve and muscle damage. But, it really does make it bad when you struggle to keep up and nobody understands, and I just don't really care anymore, and I take my pain meds, and make NO apologies for doing so. I feel so bad for you, and this business of having pain high in your chest means something is wrong, lying down is the only time I get relief? And, how in the world do you tolerate aspirin?
They started on my wrists, and are on my shoulders , across the breast area and down the arms. I'm 55 and feel there either a hormonal disorder or internal deadening of cells in my nervous system. They are not those tiny white bumps, just something coming from within. There is no moisture expelled from them just hard hard core of calous skin. Please help. Don't know where to turn.
I think everything is over and I clean up. I walk out of the toilet and in about 2 minutes time the stomach cramp and the fainting sensation comes back (I've fainted only once to date from this and was out for about 15-20 minutes). 6. When I get back to the toilet I have a really violent Diarrhoea episode in pure liquid state.
I was bleeding like crazy so we called Dr.Lewis back and he said put pressure on it and it will stop. I held pressure on it for almost 2 hours until it seemed to stop. I was wrong. I went to sit up and a ton of blood started pumping out. This continued every time i tried to move at all. So here i am just after surgery at home and every time i move at all i soak another towel in blood. Finally i decided I had better do something. I put a pressure bandage on my stomach.
I just had a double surgery Rectocele and Hysterectomy at the same time. Expect to be in the hospital at least 3 to 6 days. And don't be fooled into thinking it won't take 6 to 8 weeks to recover, cause it will.!! you will start to feel great & like you can do anything, but don't, or you'll be bed ridden, I know from experience!
I was given the option to just wait and see, but for many reasons, I chose to go ahead and get the surgery done. I opted for TAH and BSO because I am already dealing with a life-threatening, incurable disease (Cystic Fibrosis) and at 47 years old have already outlived my life-expectancy by over 10 years. I am still going strong, but did not want to have any uncertanties regarding other health issues.
The role of mycoplasma and ureaplasma in causing IC is unknown. Many people have the organisms and if found on culture can be treated, but rarely does the IC resolve. I agree with you that your bladder problem started first, and the pain caused the muscles in your pelvis to tighten up and be a new source of pain. Pelvic floor physical therapy and the TENS unit helps relax the pelvic floor and relieve the spasticity in the muscles. Studies show this treatment really works.
I was told it was allergies, depression (yeah, I got depressed after awhile), stress, burnout, micro-organisms. The surgery that launched this whole thing was a hysterectomy and one doctor suggested I was "grieving the loss of my uterus! I think each treatment helped a bit, but pacing,(not immediately burning every bit of energy I get) has worked the best. It is so good to talk with others who have this! Keep posting, please.
I used to douche after intercourse and following my period, but my gyn said it would upset the balance of organisms in my vagina. IWantTOBeAMom, what tells you you need to do this, or what sort of schedule do you use? My doc said to wipe the vulva with tissue following intercourse and just use normal bathing to rid menstrual discomfort - even went so far as to say avoid using soap or female clenasers and only to use warm water and fingers.
It will suddenly go away for weeks or months and then come back. It is VERY uncomfortable and going to the GYN has been a waste of time. They have tested for STD's and nothing. I switched to Aveeno body wash and that has not helped. This is my problem and I will be posting for myself and others what I have found. 1) Coffee can make the anus leak/situation worse, so can friction. or soap. Sometimes get leakage from sphincter. Gently Lubricate with vaseline and stick folded tissue.
) Repeated irritation can end up causing swelling or micro abrasions of the tissues and THAT allows micro-organisms to stay behind and grow. Urinary tract infections follow. Using those new catheters should help. Cathing less often will also help. Spasms can make you feel like you need to pee even if you don't. They may also cause leaking, urgency and/or frequency. But retaining urine in large amounts can cause those things as well.
I could wake up feling great and then by the time I brush teeth and hair, go to restroom, I am down and out! Or I may be ok for the evening then in the blink of an eye, Down and out! So, I guess my answr is mine are very random.....No predicitng one minute to the next or one day to the next for me. Hope the med change times help you out.
Well, I believe anything is possible for the motivated and strong willed person that searches and seeks until they find. I have Crohn's and it's Chronic as well. I have spent countless hours researching my disease, searching for safe treatments that are available. I think that if you do the research, you will find some answers that may be a benefit to you. How are you able to hide your condition and what do you tell family members & friends.
I too have had the same problem of a smelly belly button for years. I'm 55 and when I was a little girl once mom asked me if I had had my hands down my pants (it smelled like poop) and I don't think she believed me when I told her it was my belly button that I had just cleaned the "crust" off of it. Mine too gets a yellowish/brown discharge that dries to a crust and is smelly. I also have an "Inny".
in a different way than the radioligst do. He is a pelvic pain specialist and inserted sodium pottasium into the bladder and told my daug if it brings on the same type of pain pressure than thats how they diagnosos I.C. and said she had it.Her symptoms are a feeling like she has to urinate and even when she does she still feels like she has a full bladder. the pressure from not being able to relieave hurts. She is on pain med's to help until we can find a answer but if it is I.C.
My labia gets sore from the scratching and I break skin often from scratching. I have tried everthing, but it doesn't go away. I know it's not an STD because I went to the doctor's and have been tested. However they haven't helped me none. The labia skin is thickened from the scratching, is very dry (white-like) and flaky (at times). So are my inner thighs at the crease yet they do not itch that often. There are no bumps but my skin is raised, and I don't know what it is.
Hello, I'm having a problem with vaginal odour and am looking for a way to get rid of it. for approximately the last 6 months I've noticed that had a b.o. (body odoour) smell coming from my vagina. Actually the smell is generally strongest from my underwear, but if I change them then the smell is back in a short time period. I don't smell right after showering, but when I start to smell usually depends on what I'm doing during the day.
He may be fine for a day a week or a month, and then all the sudden he says he feels like he's weak and dizzy and feels like someone is poking his heart with a needle, his arm near his arm pit with hurt. He burps alot and it releaves some of the discomfort. Various other things as well. Generally he said he gets a "funny" feeling throughout his body. We went to the doctor years ago for it, and all they told us was it was because he had a fever of 98.9,(fever?)!!
My husband and I were both virgins when we got married, and obviously there is no one else. I always empty my bladder and clean off after sex. The smell seems to be more noticable if we've had more sex in a short period of time. Also the smell doesn't show up until usually the next day, but lingers for a day or two! I feel like the whole world can smell it! Also, there is no discharge, and I've had yeast infections before so I know its not that. I am on birth control, ortho tricyclin.
I feel like my body's thermostat is broken and I'm constantly overheating. I've been taking Claritin and Benadryl but that doesn't seem to help at all. My doctor also gave me a prescription medicine called Atarax, which only makes me drowsy and doesn't help the itchy feeling. Any suggestions? Btw, I've taken blood tests to see if there is anything wrong but everything came out fine.
I think I/we can guess or prognose just as well or better than they can at times particularly if we know something about health and or ourselves and our own health. Never be afraid to speak up because I feel strongly that digestive tract problems are real and translate into other real nasty symptoms like this. fortunately we can prevent much of this & need to prevent it from happening.
I get the feeling that they are like little paper cuts all inside, and they are excruciating when you tinkle. I have tried a steroidal cream, perscribed by my gyne, but it is messy and gooey, and I really don't like using it, because it doesn't really do much. Do you notice they get worse before or after your period? I know what you mean about feeling like, "what the hell is this?" I am in a monogomous relationship for 6 years, with the same partner, who is now my husband.
Yeah. Well that's what I hope-related to some kind of yeast thing, and not HPV-which would mean I have to wait until it runs it's course with me. My doctor actually told me to stick with the gold bond if it works, but that's treating the symptoms...sigh. I just had a run of anti biotics after a surgery, wouldn't that take care of any kind of BI/yeast/uti??
I got my IUD out on Aug 5th and am ttc. I have had lots of spotting and maybe a period but nothing regular. I called my doc and they said that it takes 3 months before the hormones are out of your system. The mirena website makes it sound as though you can get pregnant anytime after removal. Any advice/stories would be appreciated. Thanks.
Five months after the implant I elected to have the swine flu vaccination which resulted in a numb feeling and tingling in the extremities along with diarrhea and dizziness that subsided after a few days. Since then the tingling has combined with the aching in the lower extremities and progressed upward to include the thighs. Exercise makes all of the symptoms worse, as I experience severe aching and muscle twitching after any kind of physical activity.
