Hysterectomy and mrsa

Common Questions and Answers about Hysterectomy and mrsa

hysterectomy

Avatar f tn I am terrified to go to my GP in case I need a hysterectomy as I had open wounds for four years after my last surgery and I contracted MRSA in hospital. Has anybody out there had the same experiences as me? Could really use some advice.
1237007 tn?1267979222 Schiano, Rene has been admitted twice to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital with pneumonia (the first time) and now, with MRSA related lung condition. He is being treatd with Vancomyzion and Zofyn. Naturally this compromises his transplant, but I am very worried about the implications in terms of him being able to fight this off, and get better for his transplant. We have a living donor who is very close to getting the go-ahead from the team.
Avatar n tn He has 2 boys from his previous marriage. The youngest has a lot of skin issues and has contracted MRSA. Since meeting my husband, we have all had bouts with boils caused by MRSA. We've tried just about everything.. and we really just deal with them now. Get on antibiotics, put the mupirocin in the nose, etc. I had a couple boils over a year ago.. then didn't have anymore for probably 10 months.. then here in the past 3 months..
Avatar n tn I have had surgeries yearly since 2004. I had complications with my bariatric surgery and ended up with MRSA. I have had my gall bladder removed, abdominalplasty, and a c section. I am scheduled for a inner thigh lift next week. I haven't given it much thought about the dangers and my history of MRSA until co workers starting vocalizing their concern about my healthy and quite frankly dying. My surgeon is well aware of my history of MRSA and complications of surgeries.
Avatar f tn I have MRSA (found through colonization of urine due to UTI). I have had chronic UTI's for years now and my dr just treats them with antibiotics everytime and does an ultrasound to make sure nothing serious going on in there like cancer or kidney disease. I do not have a skin infection....I am experiencing UTI symptoms, fatigue, my whole body is very sore and achy especially my neck and shoulders and lower back. Have been through 2 weeks of Bactrim DS and three days after I finished meds..
Avatar m tn I worked as an attendant, for people confined to wheel-chairs, and many of them had bed sores, or and MRSA. I wore gloves, and washed and washed myhands after work, but I did finally end up getting a rly painful sore right inside my nostril, that didn't reapond to amoxicillin, or prescription antibiotic cream, I had to take a high-powered antibiotic, and after that, I did change jobs. My advice would be careful to never pick your nose, because staph lives on finger-tips.
Avatar n tn I have been diagnosed with MRSA and been treated three times rounds of Bactrim. I currently have an outbreak of the MRSA sores I need to pick up another round of Bactrim and now on the inside of my two index fingers the skin is peeling like a blister was there and then popped. The raw skin beneath hurts like a blister was there, however, there were no blisters on my fingers. Is this related to the MRSA?
Avatar n tn m afraid I agree with the Doctors on this. MRSA is a bacteria which lives mainly on the skin and in the nose in around 30% of the UK population alone. It is normally harmless because it can't get through the skin unless you cut yourself and even then your immune system would have to be weak to not fight it off. So, out of hospital, people are less likely to be affected than those patients in hospital with open wounds and weakened immune systems. MRSA would make them very ill indeed.
Avatar n tn doctors are trying to diagnose and treat the symptoms of lupus, with a positive ANA test, swelling that only response to high doses of steriods and those cause horrible side effects. I hurt all over all the time, sometimes so bad I can only get relief when I'm asleep. have fine tremors and memory issues, my entire body is swollen, I'm taking so many medications to lower this overactive immune system that now the doctors warn me about being around sick people.
Avatar n tn colloidal silver cured my mrsa infection, you are very ignorant of what it can do
690549 tn?1288882721 There is no direct correlation between MRSA and MS. MRSA has been found in people who have weak immune system like diabetics, elderly, asthmatics, and patients in health care facilities for prolonged duration. Since you are on steroid therapy which suppresses the immune system the possibility of MRSA cannot be ruled out in your case. A clinical evaluation is warranted. Please get it done and keep us posted!
Avatar f tn I have had 18 abdominal operations including insertion of J-tube, repairing a bowel perforation, and issues with MRSA. I had mesh put in that I was allergic to which led to about 7 abdominal operations. I have had MRSA 4 times in my gut. I had an abdominal wall constructed due to infection. I have titanium tacks in every rib, and screws in my hips and pubic bone holding this reconstruction together. Despite the last surgery being 4 yrs ago,at times the pain feels like it was yesterday.
Avatar m tn Eight days ago I woke up with an abscess on my leg in the groin area, opposite of my testicles. My wife and I promptly went to the doctor and it turned out to be a mrsa infection. The sore was drained of puss and I have been antibiotics taking them on time and will continue to take them on time until they are gone. My question is: what should we do so that we can continue to have sex without transferring the bacteria to my wife?
Avatar f tn I was treated for MRSA in the past. Now I have COPD and chronic bronchitis. Can the MRSA reappear during one of my active bronchitis bouts?
Avatar f tn I was cut up and down for the hysterectomy. The outside of the incision has healed but I have a 0.3 x 0.3 on the outside and 11.5 depth of the wound. I am now having to go to the hosptial where i live to have the bandages changed once a day in the mornings, they say I will have to go back to the surgeon and have it looked at becuase i have not healed any since the week after the surgery.
Avatar m tn Dr said she felt 2 lumps in my breast but i think/hope shes wrong when i showed up to mammogram and told them about MRSA i was told to leave and come back when i was clear And no Im not diabetic but its EXTREMLY interesting that you ask, I have read here that the bacteria feeds of high clucose?? please correct me if Im wrong but in a way one could say the bacteria craves sugar??
Avatar n tn i have never had a fever or cold sore or the hsv2 fluid filled blisters. anyway, the dr. called me 1 wk later and said i have mrsa and put me on antibiotics. now i am totally confused. i truly do not believe deep in my heart that i have hsv2. i have been married for 22 yrs. my husband, who has not been tested, said he does not have hsv2. i have only had sex with him 1 time in the last 6 months.
Avatar n tn I honestly would talk to your father's physician and surgeon about this and get their opinion. MRSA is definitely nothing to mess around with and neither is bypass surgery, so making the most informed decision you can is of utmost importance. I would suggest, however, that if the decision is made to go ahead with surgery, that, if at all possible, they give your father at least a few days of IV antibiotics before the surgery to help reduce any risk.
Avatar m tn I think I have a boil between my vagina and anus. It is closer to my anus, and it itches really badly right after I wipe. I can kinda feel a bump, so I thought it might be a hemorrhoid (never had one of these before), but now I think it may be a boil. I am 22, still a virgin, and haven't done anything sexual down there. I also wipe the correct way (front to back), so I don't think that could have caused a problem. I've never had a yeast infection either.
Avatar n tn About 75 percent of CA-MRSA infections are localized to skin and soft tissue and usually can be treated effectively.CA-MRSA has a greater spectrum of antimicrobial susceptibility, including to sulfa drugs, tetracyclines, and clindamycin. ref:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MRSA This could be a symptom of MRSA or it could also be an allergy or a fungal infection. Dust the toes with anti-fungal powder and take ANTI-HISTAMINES .
Avatar n tn I have an employee who is a caregiver and her client came down with MRSA. She claims that she took all precautions while cleaning the clients apartment. what are her chances of being a carrier of Mercer Disease and what should I advise her to do? Side bar question, How long will the organism live on surfaces, 12, 24 48 hours or longer?
Avatar f tn Do you know what kind or staph it is. Is it MRSA??? MRSA IS BAD. My baby girl got it when she was 9 months old.
Avatar f tn She had no sores or rash, and did not know she had the disease. Her husband was later diagnosed with MRSA..and has been told by doctors he is a MRSA carrier. I have a family member who was just diagnosed with pnuemonia...who was extremely exposed to a person who formerly had MRSA, and who was bleeding onto her..her face, nose, eyes and uppper body. I am concerned she couold have MRSA pnuemonia also..but her doctors are telling her there is no such thing...
Avatar m tn Your doctor would recognize MRSA and test for it I'm sure. However, when someone has had MRSA, it can recur. I would at least call your docs office and tell them about your prior MRSA infection. Otherwise, wait for the herpes test results.
Avatar n tn i frequently get mouth ulcers twice a month, last year i have had a foot ulcer, i have had mrsa, i have had mono, i have herpes, and now currently i have a ulcer in my rectem which is making me **** out blood, i have had gay oral sex and anal unprotected with hiv- person. i have all these symptoms, do i need testing? im 98% the person is hiv-... thanks and what do you think is causing this **** ???
Avatar n tn I dont think this is worth going in to the doctors office as there is no puss or anything where they can get to run a culture. Also i did have mrsa before and was tested for it but it seems to have come back as i seen red small bumps with little puss in them above my private parts but below the belly button. They have gone away on there own. Could all this other bumps and itchyness be from mrsa?
Avatar n tn Yep, agree with Stargazer. I had one over a year ago and was told it is extermely contagious especially if anyone around you is sick or has a compromised immune system.
Avatar m tn Hi, has there been any research in the effectiveness of this oil on skin infections such as MRSA? My Dad has had confirmed MRSA. I have had a bad infection in my finger, from a cut, and Mum now has a Sty in the eye. I have been using various Antibiotics and Bactroban cream. As the infection is clearing up I have switched to using Chamomile Oil. I had used it for a day before all the antibiotics and it had quite a positive effect. I ran out of this oil and the infection worsened.
