501792 tn?1261111106 Since I have tried many IC treatments and medications. I have tried Installments, a distention and IC mediactions OTC and prescribed. I have always prefered an all natural approach to medicine but my pain has not responded to those options enough to stop taking the narcotic pain meds. I eat as naturally and organically as possible and follow an IC diet. I have SVT which interferes with alot of the options I've tried like Lupron and being able to consitantly use NSAIDS.
Avatar m tn In order to get sufficient eggs for the in vitro fertilization process, a woman is injected with medications using one of several IVF medications to help develop multiple egg development, the eggs are developed in fluid filled sacs called follicles, measured by ultrasound, and hormone levels, the gently retrived from the follicle wall, Your friend in theory should be able to do this, she will require testing, as to how well her remaining ovary is functioning, As you likely know its possible for
Avatar m tn I am 43 and had a full hysterectomy 6 weeks ago but prior to that was having menopause symptoms. I went on the Vivelle hormone replacement patch the day of surgery and everything went away. Even all my menopausal symptoms prior to my surgery. I don't have any issues at all.
Avatar n tn Hi, just wondering if anybody experienced hives on the entire body after total hysterectomy. Even after having been injected with antihistamine and stopping the prescribed antibiotic on the 5th day instead of 7 days as prescribed by the doctor, the rashes continues. Are these rashes a result of a low immune system caused by the operation (total hysterectomy) or by something else? Also, when I scratch my skin will show some yellow bruises. Is this something to be alarmed of?
Avatar f tn My family has a history of heart disese, diebetes, thyroid problems and blood clots so I have alot of real concerns about medications and feeling better or feeling better and late in life costing my health due ti medications i might take now. I am scheduled to see my doctor in a motnh for my 3 month checkup and would like to have more information so I can confront him and discuss the best options for me.

537731 tn?1268265286 I went to the Dr to discuss my Lyme Disease and Hysterectomy. I also need to see if he could take over my pain management because I needed to be adjusted on my meds. Needing something stronger or something that lasts longer. My Rheumatologist wrote my normal 180 script for 120 this time and i just picked up script. I have app on 8th.
Avatar f tn For months I was having tests done and trying many different types of medications. They wont do a hysterectomy on you. Youre too young. And no, once you get a hysterectomy, you dont have any more periods. They take everything out (uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes) for a complete hysterectomy making it impossible for you to have children. Your doctor can give you medication for nausea (metoclopramide works wonders) and may do a D&C. Best of luck!
Avatar f tn I had a total hysterectomy April of 2016. I was diagnosed with a rapidly growing complex cyst and scheduled for surgery on Feb. 17th. The cyst had destroyed my ovary completely so the surgeon removed the ovary also. I now only have my left ovary which he said he cauterized a few endometrial spots on. The left ovary had a mass removed from it 16 years ago. I do not take medications so I hurt as expected but today (3 days post op) I have started experiencing some sweats/hot flashes.
Avatar f tn However, UFE is done by radiologists not gynecologists. So bottom line, that would be lost business for your gyn. Hysterectomy is very profitable and grossly overused so chances are many gyns will tell you to have a hysterectomy. I had one 10 years ago at age 49 and regret it every day. It is the surgery that keeps on giving "problem after problem." Best of luck in getting information and treatment that restores your health versus causing a whole new set of problems.
Avatar f tn PVH-Partial Vaginal Hysterectomy, even abdominal procedure, still the risk factors and complications remain more or less the same. Post surgical complications are pain, bleeding, infection.Other side effects of surgery are Hormonal changes (preserved ovaries?) estrogen imbalance, decreased testosterone-finally emotional changes of mood swings-Increased risk of cardiovascular and skeletomuscular diseases.
Avatar n tn Totaling I have had 25 surgeries and since the hysterectomy I had the most painful bladder pain. I was later diagnosed with IC, and prescriber 100 mg of amitripteline. It only works for a very short time and then the pain is back full force.I have had the bladder distention and many trips to the urologist. Can HPV cause IC and if so, how? I always wondered if the two were related- but now i am hearing of a new procedure- Sacrum nerve stimulator.
Avatar n tn I ended up having a vaginal hysterectomy because of the bleeding. I was diagnosed with fibroids and some cysts. The hysterectomy has resolved all of my symptoms. They took my uterus, cervix, and fallopian tubes. They said with tube removal, there is growing evidence that it cuts hugely on the risk of ovarian cancer later in life. I am 38 years old, have had 5 children and was completely done having anymore since, so a hysterectomy was the right choice for me.
Avatar m tn I had a hysterectomy at age 45 due to a benign tumor on my left ovary as well and fibroids. This was done in October 2011. The surgery did provide pain relief from the painful periods, and constant fibroids, but 9 days after my surgery I started with a major depression that has not gone away. After having my bloodwork taken, my thyroid was hypo active and that was corrected.
Avatar f tn i had a full hysterectomy 5 yrs ago and last 2 yrs i had hot flashes and now i get no less then 15 a day and i am soaked like i took shower and put clothes right on, but i have no uterus or ovaries, ppl say it is nto hot flashes, what could it be and how can i have a normal life it has been a night mare the last 5 months and they tire me so fast i have no energy
Avatar f tn I had my hysterectomy on August 22 of 2006, I was 36 years old, started having thyroid pains within eighteen months of surgery. Cysts in both breasts within 3 months of my hysterectomy and again a year later. Cysts on ovary, now I've been diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer (papillary) at 38. Could there be a connection between the Hysterectomy and Thyroid Cancer? No major problems before hysterectomy.
Avatar f tn I am sorry you are suffering from both PCOS and endo that is leading you to hysterectomy. I assume you already know that hysterectomy is not a cure for the insulin resistance of PCOS or for endo. Some women do get relief, either temporary or permanent, but some don't (I don't know the percentages). I had a hysterectomy 9 years ago at age 49 - absolutely the WORST thing that has ever happened to me but I did not have a chronic pain condition.
Avatar f tn I was told I had indometriosis and that surgery didnt work so I had a complete hysterectomy. Since the first surgery it takes me almost an hour to have an orgasmn if not longer. My boyfriend thinks it that Im not interested I am horny all the time and very wet, No dryness problems at all so is this and age thing?, Did the surgery cause issues? Or what? I have even used creams and a libdo pill they sell over the counter at walmart and they dont help.
Avatar f tn The insurance would pay for this type of termination of pregnancy. It is considered medically necessary for her to have her hysterectomy. Why can't she just call the GYN and talk to the nurse and see what kind of an issue/problem this presents for the hysterectomy? They usually don't charge to talk to you on the phone. Plus since it's her choice to terminate the pregnancy. I'd ask about just going on with the hysterectomy.
Avatar n tn My doctor suggests that I get a hysterectomy. I do not want to try any medications because I feel that they will only mask the problem and eventually I will have to deal with it. I have two children, and don't plan on having additional children. My doctor suggested performing the hysterectomy laparoscopically to avoid opening me up again. She will remove the endometriosis through coagulation. Do you think that these two methods are the appropriate treatment?
1636803 tn?1300289880 if I have the ovaries removed--will it effect my sex drive and what else does it effect? As I sit here and type now--my bottom is in so much pain and I am cramping! I DO HAVE AN APPOINTMENT NEXT WEEK MARCH 22ND!!!! SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Avatar n tn t know how long my left ovary will be able to stay ok with the medications that I take and with the different procedures. Now I am 23 and I managed to keep it ok untill now, with many medications and surgeries, but the cysts, the endo are there and is matter of time when is going to get worse. When I will go to doctor, I will see what is going on, what is the next step... So, that's it. Don't be a stranger! Have a nice day and take care!
Avatar n tn what cause vaginal bleeding, and odor after having a total hysterectomy?
Avatar f tn Sorry to hear that you have similar issues Jann15. I do have what you have described but I don't have any diarrhea. I am exploring the possibility of small bacterial intestinal overgrowth, SIBO. Too much bacteria in the small intestine can cause of the symptoms we are having. Unfortunately, many GI doctors do not check for it. It can easily be diagnosed with an hydrogen breath test. I am seeing another GI Dr. soon and will ask for this, I also want to explore parasites. Who knows?
Avatar f tn When I take off my bra it feels like a ton of bricks. I had a hysterectomy 10 yrs ago, one ovary and never had this problem in ten years. Could this be caused by MS? I have had mammograms on a regular because my mom passed from breast cancer and so far all tests have cone back negative. It is not just one breast it is both. They just suddenly started hurting. Nipples very sore. Thank you for any input.
Avatar n tn I have had epilepsy since I was 4 years old, and have been diagnosed with bipolar since I was 25 years old. I am 34 years old now, and have been on many different medications due to this. I have also had a hysterectomy (March 30, 2011) due to me only having seizures once a month during my period time. Is there anything I can do or take to stop these seizures?
Avatar f tn ll want you to try a ton of different birth control pills and meds, and estrogen-stopping meds before you get the hysterectomy, because the hysterectomy is permanent, and even at 39, they don't think we can make our own decisions regarding having children or reproductive health. Get the cysts removed if they don't clear up with your next period, or if they are masses, but remember that the more surgeries you have, the more scar tissue you'll get. (Totally a double-edged sword here.
Avatar f tn I am 1 week post op Laparoscopic hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy. I can’t sleep and when I do finally fall asleep, I have horrible, vivid nightmares. Is this normal? Does it last long?
