Avatar f tn On a norm, hormones hurt anyone who has lupus. However, I too have Lupus but had a complete hysterectomy, therefore, the hormone I hope; will help with the horrible hot flashes that I have daily. I'll let U know!
Avatar n tn After several test the doctors are saying that I have lupus and it is in the brain area. I do have some confusion (putting my shoes on the worng feet or putting my clothes on backwards).
Avatar m tn I noticed 5 days ago one in the oppisite arm pit and did the same I just noticed 2 more in my other arm pit. I have lupus and never had a pimple in my life and I dont want to go to the Dr.
Avatar f tn Very recently I had a sudden severe dizzy spell that did not last long but, scared me so that I was afraid to go to sleep. I have noticed some joint swelling and extreme aching. Is it possible that this is a Lupus flare up!
Avatar f tn Dear Mom n Pain, One other thing, the article about lupus said if you get a negative test, you could still have lupus, and if that happens, then check with a Rheumatologist to get the diagnosis. Since your Rheumy said "the tests don't lie," I would suggest you go to another one, as he is apparently unaware that the ANA test can come up negative and you'll still have Lupus. The only time the test doesn't lie is when it's positive.
599170 tn?1300973893 Perhaps now I can find out why. Many of you report issues with bowel and bladder problems post hysterectomy also. Please stop by and check out Dr.Nichilsons forum for the three live days he shall be here.
Avatar f tn She cannot find a cause to it even following here recent hysterectomy. She has had 2 C sections and been diagnosed with Lupus a few years ago. IBS has been ruled out as many other common causes.. Tests all come back normal. She did have a severe allergic reaction to oxycodone (codine based) following her surgery recently (Dr thought it was the reproductive system) which paralyzed her limbs, experienced severe joint pain and loss of speech. Very close call!!
1072742 tn?1255474850 Hi and welcome. From what you write, my initial reaction is this doesn't sound like MS. You have enough structural problems with your spine that can cause all of these problems. But I am no doctor or medical expect. Do you have any followup scheduled with your doctor?
Avatar f tn I have been told I have everything from lupus to ms, lupus negative results, only one positive ana and that was when i had uterine cancer. I am having many symptoms, and no insurance, and cant afford to pay the money wanted to get private insurance.
Avatar f tn html I am now being referred to the reumatologist as I have had one positive ANA for Lupus and some of the same symptoms that Lucy had. I also had 5 miscarriages from 1969 until my hysterectomy in 1976. It was a sad read.
Avatar f tn I am trying to decide what to do. Should I get just the large cyst and ovary removed or have a total hysterectomy and both ovaries removed. I am very afraid of the instant menapause but my sister keeps telling me get everything out, the possibility of cancer is not worth waiting. Anyone have a idea? Please help! My doctor says it's kind of a very gray area and for me to decide.
Avatar f tn I am checked every year for Lupus and have NEVER had it. My PCOS had been problematic, until I had a total hysterectomy in 2008. My hypothyroid symptoms seem to have started since the hysterectomy. Every time I am tested for hypothyroid disease, the results come back normal. I don't know how that is possible, since I do have EVERY symptom? I was also diagnosed with hypoparathyroid disease in 2003, and subsequently had a tumor removed.
Avatar f tn I have Systemic Lupus and my ANA test was always at l: 1280 for years and years- that was how my Rheumatologist diagnosed my illness.
Avatar m tn Hello, One strong possibility is of be rheumatoid arthritis. It may cause stiffness and swelling of joints esp hands and feet and pain with movement. Over time, deformity of the fingers may occur.Diagnosed by ESR and Rheumatoid factor in blood and x-rays of digits.RA can begin at any age.It is not restricted to the elderly. Other possibilities may be lupus(a long-lasting autoimmune disease in which the immune system attacks normal body tissues as though they were foreign substances.
Avatar f tn I am sorry you are suffering from both PCOS and endo that is leading you to hysterectomy. I assume you already know that hysterectomy is not a cure for the insulin resistance of PCOS or for endo. Some women do get relief, either temporary or permanent, but some don't (I don't know the percentages). I had a hysterectomy 9 years ago at age 49 - absolutely the WORST thing that has ever happened to me but I did not have a chronic pain condition.
Avatar n tn Hi!!! Wondering about having Lupus, RA and Sjorens together. I have a ANA 1:640 (homog) (+) RA factor, (+) Sjorgen...but only one of them SSA. My C3 is high, too. I look fine...as per my "old" rheumatologist...but, I get joint swelling/pain in my hands and fingers on/off. My hand x-rays from 2007 show periarticular osteopenia...I having new ones this week. My face has "red cheeks" ALWAYS...
Avatar n tn I am a 44 year old female and I have been having symptoms on and off for 3 years. Some come and go. They all seemed to increase this January and I went to my PCP. These symptoms are fatigue, intermittent bouts of vertigo, intermittent sinus headaches or headaches when I am hungry, frequent dropping things, weight gain, inability to concentrate when really fatigued, intermittent tingling in hand, constipation, and what I describe as no temperature regulation.

Avatar f tn Antibodies to various antigens are a characterisitic of anti phospholipid syndrome like syphilis, cardiolipin antibodies and lupus anticoagulant. Discuss with your doctor these speculations and see if any better reasoning comes up. Take care and all the best.
Avatar f tn Hi morgan30, I'm sorry to hear that you are having such a difficult and painful time. It is difficult when you have a diagnosis but are not sure that the didagnosis is real. There is also a sub-group called Limbo-Land for people with neurological diseases that have yet to be diagnosed. Fibromyalgia is a definite pain disorder as you know and attacks the muscles. The 'tender points' as you know are part of the diagnosis.
274858 tn?1267749912 t until they did the specific test for AP, a special protein in the blood that came positive on me, that we knew I had lupus. The way my doc described it was, you could have lupus and NOT have this protein, but if you had this protein, you definitely have lupus. All these things, lupus, MS, and some others can be so hard to dx. I know. None of this started to come together for me to have answers until this year when I turned 51.
Avatar m tn (Had a hysterectomy, July 2010) and they thought it was a hormonal thing and my heart kept racing from synthroid and my numbers went crazy and I was in a storm and taken off everything. I've gained a ton of weight over the last year and feel absolutely horrible. Could the hashimotos be making me feel so awful or could this be thyroid cancer? I'm really worried as my neck is swollen, having trouble swallowing, etc.
1217680 tn?1266554531 I have very bad endometriosis and am facing a hysterectomy at 27 years old. It seems like I am sick ALL the time. I have unexplained weakness in my left side recently which my neurologist thinks it related to a complicated migraine. My mom had similar symptoms in her early 20's and 30's which seemed to clear up after her hysterectomy at 40. I am wondering if I have a hormonal imbalance and do not know how to go about getting this checked.
Avatar n tn I just had a hysterectomy in July of last year. Due to pain, and there was found to be inflammation of the uterus, although it was small, I bled copiously. I was just diagnosed with a rare form of colitis, lymphocytic colitis. I am constantly sore, knees, muscles, back, legs, arms, neck and shoulders, bad headaches. Thyroid, B, and Iron came back normal. Awaiting hormone and cortisol tests to be read. I do have patella femoral pain dysfunction and TMJ.
Avatar f tn I had my hysterectomy on August 22 of 2006, I was 36 years old, started having thyroid pains within eighteen months of surgery. Cysts in both breasts within 3 months of my hysterectomy and again a year later. Cysts on ovary, now I've been diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer (papillary) at 38. Could there be a connection between the Hysterectomy and Thyroid Cancer? No major problems before hysterectomy.
Avatar n tn People with other autoimmune disorders such as Sjögren syndrome, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, and pernicious anemia, and in people who have no evidence of disease, are sometimes positive for antibodies, so that is why thyroid levels are the prevailing diagnose, and antibody test are just to confirm. Family having thyroid problems doesn't necessarily mean another family member will, however, it is a just cause for testing on a regular bases for just incase you show up thyroid in the future.
Avatar f tn The insurance would pay for this type of termination of pregnancy. It is considered medically necessary for her to have her hysterectomy. Why can't she just call the GYN and talk to the nurse and see what kind of an issue/problem this presents for the hysterectomy? They usually don't charge to talk to you on the phone. Plus since it's her choice to terminate the pregnancy. I'd ask about just going on with the hysterectomy.
